What exactly would you consider a good range for that power?

Oh, I added "A good trick to get out of the paralysis is to switch focus to doing something completely different, although most would not think to do so." That would be a way to get out of the paralysis mentally. Is that alright?

@Cathari Sarad: I'd say at the most, 20-25 feet is something okay? With that, it's not super far away like the previous distance, but it's still far away enough to keep people in check.

Would a villain with a mask attuned to apathy work?

Well, unfortunately, this is something I should just announce as a whole- Apathy isn't up for grabs, so, as much as I regret to say it, that's unavailable!

Are there any emotions you'd suggest for a perpetually bored, calm, and detached villain, then?

Or, perhaps, he could have a mask based on some kind of instinct or logic rather than the usual emotion-based mask?

Well, there's two.

We already have Comedy and Analysis masks, one based on Instinct or Logic (or other abstract concepts) should be on the table.

While Apathy is taken, something like Relaxation or something similar is available!

Since we're allowing a lot of freedom when it comes to villains, maybe he could be attuned to a natural force as a contrast to the emotional powers of the heroes?

Color me interested! Are any of the following available:

• Fear
• Sadness
• Dread (a less immediate emotion than fear)
• Panic (see above, replacing less with more)

@Too Many Ideas: Terror takes the place of Fear I'd say! But Sadness is open, and Dread/Panic can also be considered, if you let me know what ideas you have for them!

Heh, I'm surprised Sadness is open, it's a pretty common emotion that's easy to write. I think I'll grab it before anyone else does. When will character applications be up?

• Mood: Sadness.
  • Solo: She can fill an opponent with despair, with whatever results may be appropriate. It may backfire, depending on the person. Important Note: The person can tell that this feeling is artificial.
  • AOE: A massive rainstorm appears, resulting in lowered visibility and minor flooding in the surrounding area. The chemically inclined will find that these are not normal raindrops, but rather human tears.
• Physical Appearance: "Ever get the feeling that the Earth was God's one big mistake?"◊
• Bio: Eve has not had a nice life. Her parents were killed by a sociopath looking for cheap thrills when she was ten, and she has bounced from foster family to foster family since then. She learned to stop crying in public around age twelve. She has become a very muted person, a girl of few words and only slightly more action. Some say that if you can make her smile once, she has become your friend for life. Don't aim higher than smiling—she hasn't laughed in two months. She has not seen a psychologist since she moved in with her latest family, where the whole psychological profession has been shamed in their eyes by a case of abuse years before. Luckily, she was already stabilizing...somewhat, anyway.
• Other Info: It's important to note that she is not suicidal. In fact, she is opposed to the very idea of it, and is afraid of anything she thinks may push her in that direction (weaponry, drugs, etc).

Obviously it's up to Lime to approve/reject the character, but right now I can tell you that the sign-up is missing what power(s) Eve has as a result of her Sadness Mood.

I made a post in the discussion thread that summarises all the info on how the masks and their powers work. Also Lime gathered up all the signs-ups in the first post of the discussion if you want to skim through other people's sign-ups and get a feel for what the powers could entail (we all stuck our powers under the 'Mood' heading).

Also, and this isn't necessary, you can describe how your mask looks in Other Info if you want. Like I said it isn't necessary if you'd rather describe it in the RP itself

@LimeKid: It might be worth considering updating the first post of this thread with the sign-up sheet and all the info about powers and stuff, just in case another newcomer gets confused

As far as this sadness idea goes, I'd just appreciate a bit of elaboration on the despair aspect- especially on just how intensely it can affect a particular individual. The other power is fine, however!

I've pretty much typecasted myself as the Power of the Void guy.
