They left it ambiguous enough that it WILL happen sadly, gotta put those leather pants on a mass murder.

Just judging from what I've seen so far, I don't think any of the villains are meant to be really nuanced. They're there to be hated and stopped.
I'm not really gonna complain, but I don't know how serious a look this game has on 'justice' when the bad guys are total scum and the main critic is a salty teen diva who's obviously in this to make the others look bad.
They're total scum that society still protects, is the point. Happens all the time in real life. Jimmy Savile, anyone?
Not like it's a surprise the leather pants would come out, of course. Always do, especially if the character is pretty.
They were also manufactured by society, especially Okumura.
That seems to be the theme of the game, though. How everyone is "manufactured by society" or some other oppressive entity.
Some of them are manufactured by society, while other are sitting cushily at the top of it and gleefully rigging the game to their own benefit.
A little but of every evil out there. Gotta keep it diverse after all.
Huh there could be a good couple of plotlines based on the Traitor that can be used for P5 Arena.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."@Hamburger: yeah, so that's why I think virtually everyone isn't gonna raise a stink about what the Phantom Thieves do, because what other options are there
The Kamoshida example makes me think about what happened at UCONN.
The game is making me think about how this will end. Society will never run out of criminals and distorted desires so are they just gonna do this as long as they live when they have the means. It's obvious besides chafing at their lack of freedom and justice that the gang is in this for the thrill and camaraderie, and I won't hold that against them. the Metaverse and Cognition is also a thing that's being independently discovered and researched and judging by the conspiracy, you can be certain people will exploit it.
Also, what happens when you get a perp's Shadow that refuses to change. Even with the first three targets, you get the Shadows voluntarily give up the treasure at the end after being lectured. What if you get a guy like Mitsuo from P4 that rejects it? Will the theft still be sufficient on its own to force a mental change due to how the supernatural realm in this game works?
These people are not sympathetic but do they have a basic human right to not have their minds tampered with. Obviously, it violates their free will but I suspect most people won't care.
I don't mind being spoiled at this point and I will assume the game will answer these questions.
Nothing like bringing Sataneal the Ultimate Tank Persona to Palace 6's bullshit "singles" battle. Ate up everything like a champ, and busted everyone with Cosmic Flare while I was at it.
Right.
Goro purposely suggests waiting until almost the last moment before sending the calling card, so that it would have a greater effect on Sae. Man, he's really playing them for chumps. I'm really curious as to find out his motives. It does explain why there seem to be so many videos between finding the Infiltration route and the (seemingly) final confrontation with Sae.
Nice of the game to give you that remaining time to take care of anything you might still want to do.
One Strip! One Strip! And yes, I fully expect Traitorman to be savable in the inevitable Updated Re-release.
If only because it feels unbalanced that there's three elements that the party doesn't cover.
Although, I guess they could use the hot springs mechanic from P 4 G to let them branch out a bit further.
If everyone were normal, the world would be a dull place. Like reality television. There aren't many ways that come to mind for the traitor to be redeemed and join the party without making it seem like he gets a free pass. I guess there's always amnesia, but that's cheap. There's also the Adachi method of sort of redeeming himself but not really.

This song needs more love.It could go the Golden route and just let you assist the traitor. Which was really kind of insane when that happened.
Or, I dunno, you get to recruit a form of him formed by the collective unconsious perception of his manufactured image in the media. Sort of like a Persona 4 shadow. Because lets face it, weirder things have happened in this series.
Or just grab the nice version from Sae's palace.
I dunno. Things get weird when considering revamped editions.
If everyone were normal, the world would be a dull place. Like reality television.Would Sae's perception of him be that nice? Even she didn't like him all that much. And she did see him specifically as a threat, which is why he had the costume.
But I was firmly in the "I hate this guy" camp towards the traitor from day one. I always thought that was kind of the point. The Justice Arcana is forced on you with virtually no actual connection being made between you two, like someone or something was forcing a bad card into the deck to play a trick. The game was telling me we had grown closer, which just made me distrust him more. I though Atlus was using the "you like this person now" thing so poorly on purpose, to make the player distrust him.
Plus, Ryuuji hates him, and Ryuuji has a pretty much unimpeachable sense of character.

Anyone else kinda felt bad for Goro after the Phantom's gain boosts in popularity especially after the whole Medjed deal?
I don't know its the fact he is becoming more widely hated & discredited made me feel for the poor guy. I mean knowing internet fandom & really the general fanaticism of fans I wouldn't be surprised if he was harassed.
Wait did Goro ever mention he was harassed by more ardent Phanatics?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Do you...do you not know what caused that?
If you talk with Futaba after avoiding the bad end, She reveals that Sae's cognitive Akechi is actually a nice guy. But they had to tie him up so he couldn't walk in on the interrogation.
If everyone were normal, the world would be a dull place. Like reality television.Yeah, considering what caused that, I never felt vaguely sorry for him.
In case you haven't seen it, Zero Punctuation did actually review this game, and give it up to Atlus, they managed to make a modern turn-based JRPG that Yahtzee doesn't hate.
Huh nice.
I don't know I just pity the poor bastard.
Then again I'm saying this before my encounter with the Traitor. My opinion of him might change afterwards, heheh.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Yes! I finally got my Craftworker trophy. Had to make several things like the Force Set, Elemental Set, and the Eternal Lockpick by hand instead of using Temperance to do it.
Just want to point out the Thieves' MO isn't as squeaky clean
Ah pagetoppers
