Reading Charm Point, it's said that it's whatever thing associated with the character that would make them look better for other characters. And then it's also said that if the character loses their charm point, they'll somehow (usually psychologically) become awkward, whether on talking normally or doing their usual work.

Question: are the two really related to each other? One part says about the effect it has on other characters while the other part says about the effect it has on the wearer. I mean, if others told Bob that his bowtie is his charm point, I don't think Bob losing the bowtie would suddenly make him act awkwardly. The examples are also about one or the other.

And how would this relate to #1 Dime, Iconic Item and Security Blanket?

The description for Charm Point seems to be Iconic Item + Magic Feather. Some of the examples fit this others are just "Someone called something a Charm Point at some point".
