Well, this is all pretty weird. A elevator in a small building on a floating island in a cave. How is it supposed to go either up or down?

Was Goldy Ponds originally created as a refuge? Then how did it end up as it is? So many questions, I hope we get some answers.

…Now that I think of it, how did Lucas learn about the "human world"? He didn't meet with Sonju and Musica, as far as we know…

Hmm, saw hastily translated version of the latest chapter. I'm kind of wondering if Lucas ends up becoming antagonists since he decides to go on different route provided than one Emma will end up

…Oh, the irony. Also, from the opening page, Grace Field has a new Mama. Then again… If there are ways to escape to the human world inside the farms, wouldn't the Mamas want to get out of that hellhole too?

They have kill switches implanted in their hearts specifically to prevent that.

Man, that chapter answered a lot of questions, and of course raised new ones.

Anyone else kind of digging the parallels to real life food procurement? It makes the antagonists seem Not So Different from humans. We've got free-range farming for premium expensive "products", factory farms that feed the common populace, an old-fashioned geezer who wants to be able to hunt like the good ol' days, and even an illegal poaching playground for idle rich.

Ive seen jokes about not eating farm grown humans cause its not kosher.

Funny enough even the hunters in Goldy Pond parallel humans hinting without a liscense, while Sungjoo and Musica are persecuted for their religious beliefs. Though partly for what their religion requires concerning food.

Well, yeah, the parallels with human society are pretty obvious. Which makes it even more surprising that this story is running in the Shounen Jump.

Besides the obvious parallels to human practices, it also shows that a lot of Demons really aren't satisfied with the status quo either.

That is the reason Sungjoo and Musica don't eat humans.

Yeah, the entire reason Sungjoo helped the kids was because he wants to be able to eat human meat again without violating his faith. But since his religion forbids eating anything he didn't hunt, and the current system makes hunting humans illegal...

Well its not Kosher specifically since they aren't Jewish, but it is a equivalent.

Well, there are restrictions when it comes to how you kill an animal for food preparation in kashrut.

I'd say it's also similar to halal.

Now I'm imagining vegan Demons. Or Demons allergic to gluten. Or superpicky Demons who insist on only eating certain body parts of humans or humans of a certain race or gender.

So much new information. And so many new questions.

It seems that Demon World and Human World are indeed different parallel worlds, since apparently you can just go from one to the other in places that are not anywhere near anything like a geographical border.

I wonder who betrayed Minerva, and why are the fields build over passages in the border. So many new questions.

And what will the kids do? Will they escape themselves or tear down the world order?

Doesn't it come out to the same thing? Escaping from a farm is one thing, but if the kids start vanishing by dozens, the Demons are gonna suspect something's off…

• Kaiu: "Posuka is an angel and a very, very kind person"

• Shirai's inspirations: Monster by Urasawa, Neuro, One Piece, Metropolis by Tezuka

• Posuka inspirations: children illustrated books, Shaman King, Kinnikuman

• Emma isn't a "heroine", she is a" hero". She is someone "cool", like a male MC, instead of a subject of the reader's love. She has cute moments, though.

• Ray was originally going to die but they decided against it because they realised he still had a big role to play in a future development

• The entire story has been fully plotted, but they make changes here and there depending on how they feel about it

• Shirai already came up with the ending. Or rather, endings. They haven't decided which one to use. Yet.

Also spoilers from this weeks chapter: A bodyguard named Adam looks like a roided up Norman, and constantly repeats Normans tattoo 22194 after seeing Emmas.
