"Oh come on, Nat. What's the worst that could happen? The kid is fighting way better odds than how most of us got our start. I'm sure he's fine." Cor replied. As he said that another bomb was tossed in and landed in the middle of the group clumped together as they were in the hallway.

The another invisible enemy landed behind Thanatos and took a swing at his neck as soon as its feet had touched the ground.

LV-426 Hallway

As Freddie ran he would find a set of stairs, the lights flickering erratically and a radio playing music somewhere in the distance.

LV-426

Right when Thanatos wanted to fasten the mook's head onto the extinguisher to make a macabre-looking device, a bomb was thrown. Yet another one.

"Bomb incomin'! We aren't clear yet!"

As soon as the bomb was tossed, Thanatos would drop the head and immediately spray his extinguisher around him. Obscuring clouds revealed any movement of invisible enemies around him.

It just so happened that the smoke did get displaced... right behind him. He wasn't able to see the enemy, but judging by the movement of the extinguisher's fume cloud... Thanatos knew where the hidden enemy was.

Again, a symbol appeared on his screen.

"There you are!"

The jet-robot whirled around, having caught notice of the enemy attempting an attack at his head area.

With a quick crouch and slide away from the bomb, Thanatos attempts to dodge the enemy's attack, now observant of his position in the cloud. His free hand that wasn't carrying the extinguisher would attempt a slice at the enemy's legs with his energy blade as he does so.

With the Group

Yoko emits another counterwave, nullifying the shock. At the same time, she sighs.

"Really? One at a time? Ah, well. Seems like Than has this handled. I'm off to go find Freddie."

She waves briefly, then dashes off after the Faunus.

"Flickering lights and music." Freddie frowned, drew out his wire again, and staked a few lengths behind him. He spoke into his Scroll again. "I found the stairs up, but with flickering lights and a dying radio I'm ner—" More nervous than usual? "I'm going to hold my ground. Please watch for snares, I've laid a few down on my flank."

Slamming his helmet back onto his head, Wilhelm called out to Thanatos "I trust you can dispatch this foe on your own my friend" before hefting Recht onto his shoulder and marching after Freddie.

After making his way carefully to Freddie's side, Wilhelm would clap a hand onto his comrade's shoulder and say "Well done my friend! You seem to have discovered something of interest!"

Taking a moment to absorb the admittedly creepy atmosphere, Wilhelm added "I must say this isn't the most welcoming environment is it?"

Aria pinged off of Freddie's transmission and tracked him down through the complex, keeping to the shadows as she did, taking what time she could to make sure that she wasn't being followed...

Catching up to Wilhelm and Freddie, she chimed in.

"I'll certainly be happy to be out of here," she typed out, "but there's some subsystem that i can't crack from outside. Call it dangerous curiosity, but I'm positively itching to see what they're hiding."

Control Tower

"Ghh...!" Talon gritted his teeth as the pain came with the enemy's claws, but no harm came thanks to his Aura. Feeling the claw striking him gave him an idea of how the invisible enemy's body was shaped, and he quickly retaliated with a strike at their center of mass before diving out of the visible enemy's line of fire, throwing out a trio of arcing fireballs as he made for cover.

Mission Time

Erika was frowning. That was a rather rare sight as the heiress was usually a happy go lucky ball of pure energy. The last time she had been like this....

Then again, this was a different situation. People were attacking a place of national importance.

....She wasn't about to let these unknowns get away with trying mess with the peace Remnant's managed to achieved.

Erika's Wings of Light spread behind her as the young woman flew above the now-battlefield. She scanned the area below her, frown deepening.

One of her hands held onto Vivian, carrying the other woman with her.

"Viridian Rook to Guardians, I'm en route. Who needs support?"

LV-426

The grenade more or less taken care of Cor activated his com. "Nice of you two to finally join us. See if you can find Talon. The idiot blinked past us on approach, we haven't seen him since."

The enemy attacking Thanatos simply leapt over the low slash and retaliated with a burst of gunfire from both of its gauntlets, attempting to stay close but just slightly out of melee range.

Hallway.

As those who had joined Freddie looked around they would notice further down the hallway there was an elevator door. It appeared to be out of power at first glance.

Control tower

Talon's blade connected although it to just scraped against the enemy's aura. The invisible one snarled and fell back. Meanwhile the visible enemy immediately noticed the fireballs and dove out of the way itself, throwing a grenade towards Talon as it did so.

LV-426

This was now a heated battle. Immediately as the enemy jumped away, Thanatos could see the moving extinguisher clouds that easily gave away its position. The jet-bot charges up a shot in one hand.

"Sheesh, these things are one of those incredibly annoying enemy types..."

Without hesitation, he used his other hand to throw the extinguisher at the enemy as a makeshift explosive as it fired at him while quickly leaping to one side to avoid the bullets. The bullets impacting the extinguisher should cause it to rupture and cover the entire area in smoke.

He could always find another one, anyway, and besides, an explosion would possibly cause the whole floor to be covered in the smoke.

Meanwhile, having learned that these guys have an explosive in their chest area, Thanatos uses his scanners to determine his enemy's displacement in the clouds and fires a powered shot at where said explosive would be.

(Explosion be damned.)

Erika: To Control Tower

"Roger. On our way." Eri answered Cor, Wings flaring as to change directions.

She looked down at Vivian, giving her a small smile.

"You hanging on alright, Viv? Let's go help Mister Jumpy."

Erika flew towards the control tower, careful not to drop her BFF.

As she approached his position, Eri could see that yeah, Talon was in a bit of trouble.

"YOOOO! Dynamic entry!"

And with that, Erika actually swing her arms and flung Vivian at Talon's position!

Fastball Special

"I am holding on just fine.", Vivian said...before promptly being thrown at Talon's opposition.

The things I do to protect Miss Eri..., she thought to herself as she used her Photon Erasers and Emitter Semblance to shape what looked like a battering ram in front of herself with which she'd ram into the things attacking Talon.

"Hold this please." Freddie detached the grappling hook from Growth and handed the handle out, wrapping the other end around his wrist. He then held Industry aloft and ready. Focusing in on his plan, Freddie forgot whom he was working with and got a steely-eyed hyperfocus. "If I get grabbed or or or hit or whatever, yank the handle back and hit the button." Once someone took the handle, he started hustling down the hallway at a moderate pace, headed for the elevator. "What—what do we do once we get to the elevator? Go straight up to the top, or sweep the floors in between?"

With Freddie

Yoko, having wandered in, and with an expression of faint amusement, grabs the end of Freddie's cable.

"Have fun, buddy."

LV-426

While the cyborg's bullets did impact the fire extinguisher it did not explode, instead releasing a jet of compressed gas which only slightly altered its course. The enemy merely ducked under the metal canister and was once again lost to Thanatos' sensors.

Control Tower

Since Erin could only throw Vivian at what she could see the fastball special connected with the visible cyborg, knocking it to the ground just as it was starting to get up. However its aura held and it retaliated by jabbing its claw towards Vivian's eyes.

Meanwhile the grenade the enemy had thrown landed right next to Talon and judging by the beeping it was about a second away from going off.

Hallway

Freddie was able to move down the hallway without incident. The elevator doors stood closed in front of him. The console that controlled the elevator appeared to be untouched.

Hallway w Freddie

"Huh. You want me to follow you there buddy, or should I stay back?"

She shrugs, still occasionally sending out a pulse to detect any invisible enemies.

LV-426

"Ugh, what an annoyance."

With whatever's left of the Canister, Thanatos kicks it away and tries to find another idea while charging his attack.

Opening up hatches on his armor's legs and arms, he fires a slew of missiles that would circle the area to cover it in smoke. These wouldn't detonate on impact but leave a good bit of smoke trails.

The jet-bot would keep his sensors up to look for enemy or bullet sightings around him via smoke displacement, including above and behind him.

As soon as the enemy appears, he would fire another power-charged shot at its position.

"Please do." Freddie anchored Growth into the wall and gestured to his companions. "If you wanna, uh, like, try out the grappling function, for instance, Yoko, you should be secure enough to, to, reel yourself down. The Hall."

Hallways of the World

"Oh, alright then."

She triggers the mechanism, whirring on down the hallway.

"Well now, that was mildly diverting."

Control Tower

In the split second before the grenade went off, Talon activated his Aura and searched for the invisible assailant. After catching a glimpse of their Aura in the shadows, he quickly struck the grenade into the air with his sword and kicked it as his enemy. But instead of sailing directly at the foe, Talon had kicked the grenade so that it would curve to where he figured they would try to dodge.

Tower

Vivian would then, in the split second she had before she'd be blinded, attempt to grab ahold of her assailant and throw them aside near where Talon threw his grenade.

Tch...what are these things..., she thought to herself.

The missiles Thanatos launched did cover the area with smoke, as well as blast the enmy multiple times, utterly shattering their aura and leaving them dazed.

Hallway

No one had any trouble moving down the hallway. The elevator doors stayed silent.

Control tower

Talon's target did try to bat the grenade back, though at that point it was too late. The bomb detonated, blowing its arm off and sending it out the window and plummeting below. Vivian's enemy was caught in the blast but appeared more singed than anything.

Hallway Patrol

"Whelp. Here we are. At the elevator. Quite diverting I must say."

Yoko is Bored (TM).

Let me have a look at that Aria typed as she moved towards the elevator switch.

She examined the lift and prepped her equipment in case it was needed.

Elevator Shaft

Freddie damn near spilled the beans again. I'm not about to put myself in an easily hacked metal box.

"We should scale the shaft directly to prevent detection." Freddie swiped his sickle from Yoko and snapped it onto Industry once again, then started prying open the elevator doors to check where the elevator was. "The cables in my grappling hook have supported all of Team KADM, so we ought to be fine."

Pronounced like "cadmium."
