I didn't care for the possible replacements I saw on GIS. This Schlock Mercenary lampshades it in the last few panels, and the Alt Text of this xkcd strip also lampshades it...maybe we could do something with those.
The xkcd one can be used for "Stop Having Fun" Guys... the page is locked, though.

In this thread it was discussed that the image is not an example of the trope.
Quote: “Stop Having Fun” Guys is about skilled/competitive gamers looking down on those don't play the same way they do. Now it's suffering from decay and is applied to any kind of party pooper and this image supports that drifted definition more than ours."

honestly seems more a JAFAAC
I like Monty Python as much as the next person, but the image does absolutely nothing to the page. Pull regardless of replacement.
You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"Are we good to at least pull the current?
If the 2nd one were better quality, it would be perfect.
The first is pretty good though.
Looking through the page for examples, perhaps we can do something with the modern misconception that ancient color statues were all white marble◊?
You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"I think the lower half would be enough, with an appropriate caption.
Check out my fanfiction!I think that's much better than the Monty Python suggestions, which don't really illustrate the trope at all in my opinion.
My only issue with 11 is the quality...the pics seem a little grainy to me.
Here's a sharper version:
You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"I think the statue image is great, it gets my vote!
The Monty Python scene, while being something that many people associate with the trope, is not even a (straight) example of it, because there are no actual horses involved.
Yeah, that's an improvement.
for the statue.
Twitter/Instagram: anzasquiddles. Deviantart: anzahanifathallah.15 is good.
(Annoyed grunt)Bump. Anyone else?
You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"This is at the clocking point, and we've got enough consensus to go with 15, so it's up and tagged but not potholed to anything. For the caption, I was thinking "Old gray stone, it ain't what it used to be..." (parodying "The Old Gray Mare").

I like that one.
Still, I'm obliged to throw in my own suggestion:
"The reality tends to color people surprised."
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.Either of those works.
Check out my fanfiction!I'll go with 23.
You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"
I like the concept of Monty Python and the Holy Grail as the page image, but The coconuts are hard to notice in the image and you can't tell that King Arthur is 'riding' an invisible horse.
