Aria - Villain Bedroom

"You're using a lot of I talking about this team of yours," Aria said nonchalantly. She noticed that Tira seemed to be avoiding ever calling Team Murder Buddies by its name, likely some indication that it was the other one who was shouting that name constantly at Brook's mill. "Anyway, not too fond of being somebody else's bottom bitch. If you want to make sure I won't fuck you or betray you, we don't need some formal alliance."

"You can pretty much guess that I won't betray you or anyone else because it's not particularly profitable for anyone to do so. There isn't anything material to be gained here, just whatever trinkets you get for winning the popular vote. And you can fucking believe that someone who screws over the others isn't getting a popular vote, they're just going to get fucking ostracized. And then flayed to death a few dozen times. We're not heroes so we won't really have a rehab program for people who can't be trusted, and I'm pretty sure most of these guys would jump at the chance to work out their frustrations on an acceptable target."

Superman—Pool— Befriending the villains?

While he was drinking his chocolate, like a big boy, Superman could notice the other villains like Reaper gathering around. Surely Harry seemed like a magnet of bad guys. Was that one of his magic powers?

When Penemue spoke he seemed lost in though for a few seconds. The good news were that the villain didn’t seem to be unreasonable at all. The bad news were that he had a point. If the producers asked the villains to kill innocent people, why would they want to stop?

He sighed, “I know we're trapped for the time being. But sometime I've learned is that there is always a better way. I just want to ask you to hurt as little people as possible.”

Then after hearing Jan’s talking Superman replied to him.

“Sex. Alchohol. Adrenaline. You crave them because you need something else. The next time you go to sleep you'll still feel empty.” Superman replied to Jan "––What your soul truly hungers is a hand to hold.”

“Friendship, hope and Justice. Those things are worth dying for. They'll last beyond all of us." He tried to put his hand on Jan's shoulder to reply to his last statement. " That's not true. I believe everyone no matter how dark their past might be, they can always better." He smiled to him " If you give it a try I'll, be there for you."

Chun-Li, Hero Bedroom

"I would say our issue in the last challenge was the fact we did not have everyone, and I mean everyone, defending the church," Chun-Li commented about the last challenge. "We put defenses around it without making either decoy targets nor putting everyone out there defending that particular building."

"For example, where were either you or Ranma during that last challenge?" Chun-Li asked Sousuke."It just took one of the villains breaking into the church for them to win."

"We need better organization, yes, but we also should use the various powers all of us have to our benefit," Chun-Li noted to Sousuke. "The villains didn't need to be organized because only one of them needed to break through the line and start killing people."

Medicine - Hero Bedroom

Well, at least this one seemed to like her viewpoints. Though her attitude was just a little uncomfortable.

She took the hand with her own regardless. She couldn't see how it would hurt her.

"Medicine Melancholy. Pleased to make your acquaintance."

She paused for a moment, then continued, hesitantly.

Backyard to Hero Bedroom

"Well excuse me for trying to want to not have the crazies reach the church in the first place." A rather grumpy voice rang out as a bloodied and bruised redhead staggered into the bedroom, eyes as dull as turbid glaciers. Padding unevenly towards her own bed, the pigtailed martial artist sat down with a pained grunt before ruffling in her bag for herbal concoctions and bandages, applying the things on with gritted teeth as the disinfectant properties went to work before heaving a sigh of relief at the numbing sensation kicked in. "I'll agree with ya though, we really needed to communicate better and come up with back up plans in case things go to pot. A way to communicate between everyone would have been good too."

Now looking much like a mummy with exotically crimson hair sticking out, Ranma Saotome leaned against the wall and affected went to work at channeling her ki into healing herself. "But at least now we know what mistakes to never make again." The martial artist muttered darkly, pain creeping into her tone as she felt the anger at being helpless to protect those who needed protection. Still, she had at least gained an understanding of what the other team was capable of as well as a smidgen of learning for how to use her newest weapon, a paltry compensation for those lost lives but still something to ensure that the next confrontation wouldn't be the same as last time.

Kage - Killing Time

After Smiley let me go and skipped off, probably to go knock off a few heads, I was on my own again. So, where to now? I wasn't going back to the kitchen with that woman-shaped daemon-thing, Smiley and the xeno had drifted off into the barracks, and a glance into the pool room was enough to let me know the Chaos fragger and Pen were in there, so that was out too. The big red guy was on the couch over there watching a vid, so I wasn't about to hang around here either. Time to pick the least shitty option.

I headed for the bunkroom. Might as well see how things were set up there. Besides, I think I saw the fire princess heading that way too and I never did get a straight answer out of her about the idea of working for Smiley.

Sure enough, there they all were. But first, I went over to check out my bunk. It looked simple enough, standard Guard issue, with a foot locker at its end. One glance inside confirmed the locker was full of spare clothes. Thank the Emperor, it was all ordinary stuff, plain uniforms, combat boots, and the like. That done with, I meandered over to the princess.

"Never got an answer from you," I said by way of an opening, and jerked my head in Smiley's direction. "That's who I was talking about. Feel free to ask her about it."

Yumil - Lounge > Hero Bedroom

Immediately after leaving the Grey Room, Yumil had seated himself one one of the chairs in the living room, and had not left since. Of course, he had hardly been staring out into space the whole time. He'd been writing. Not in the Book of Prophecy, but rather, in a small leather-bound book he carried with him in his little satchel. A fantasy novel he'd been in the middle of writing. One of many, actually - Yumil was never able to actually finish a novel, always getting distracted by some new idea and dropping everything to work on it.

He was almost dead to the world when he was writing, aware only of the scratching sound of pen on paper and the words it formed. It was nothing abnormal for him. There were only a few things in the world that could rouse him from these trances.

For instance.

An idea struck Yumil. The motion of his quill pen ceased immediately. And, immediately, all thoughts of the novel he'd been penning fled his mind to make way for the seeds of a new one.

He needed to do research first, though. That was important.

Yumil carefully stowed his book back into his bag, withdrew The Book, stood up, and began walking in the direction of the Hero Bedroom. Honestly, he was disappointed in himself that he'd forgotten to do this earlier. It was time to add some new pages to the Book.

Quintet - Poolside

"Yes, that's it! I approve of that heroic passion!"

As if from nowhere, Quintet appeared amongst the gathering of heroes and villains at the pool bar. Walking up from behind Superman, he exulted in hearing such heroic ideals said with such honesty. The man reminded Quintet very much of himself.

"It's just a shame you refuse to understand how it should be used."

Or, rather, how he'd been many, many years ago. A naive fool who had yet to see the world, to see humanity, for what it was. Before he'd seen the way to shine the light of true redemption on the world and bring about worldwide harmony.

Quintet casually seated himself right beside Superman.

To his fellow villains, he extended a cheery wave of greeting.

"Yo. Hope I'm not interrupting anything."

Juri, Villain Bedroom

Juri, dressed in her typical fighting outfit again, walked into the Villain Bedroom and right by Aria and Tira.

"Hey, I just got done watching one of the idiots hit herself repeatedly against a glacier," Juri chuckled, thinking of the scene that she had watched of Ranma Saotome's training. "It was hilarious!"

Chun-Li, Hero Bedroom

"Sorry, Ranma," Chun-Li apologized to the redheaded martial artist. "But a number of the villains ended up completely bypassing the traps you and Sousuke were working on."

Chun-Li then got a good look at Ranma, "...What happened to you?!"

Mamizou

Medicine Melancholy - yes, the name was familiar from this little show's opening announcements. Mamizou was pleased to put a face more firmly to the name, smiling and nodding cheerfully.

"Hmm... Well now, let's see..." The tanuki crossed her arms and tapped her chin in thought. "The big red brute, for starters... that vampire lad - Valentine, I think? Oh, your resident priest, Mr Kotomine, of course. A real piece of work, that one. I can feel it in my bones." She said, tutting softly and shaking her head.

"Of course, I've hardly met so many of our 'villains'," She added, the epithet coloured with amused sarcasm. "I should really get to know some of them, don't you agree?"

Solidus Snake, Hallway

"Ocelot?" Solidus parroted, but there was no particular surprise behind it. Once a turncoat, always a turncoat - never trust a Frenchman. It all flowed logically enough from there, loose ends and overlooked variables. All that really shook him was the time, scant years where he'd been imagining decades, but even made sense in a perverse sort of a way. Ocelot had only had about ten years left in him at absolute most, his dearest brother maybe twenty, and he knew the pressure of that kind of deadline all too well. Two old bastards stood right on the edge, and system that could never understand the danger. It was never going to end any other way, really.

"This is... a lot to take in, but-" he paused to find the right words, and smiled wryly as inevitability took hold.

"You've grown, Jack. Solid was good, but he was never that good. He couldn't have done this alone. You know what this means, don't you? You won the fight I wasn't able to. That's my legacy. Even if nobody knows but you, you made sure they could never erase me completely. You didn't mean to, and you weren't fighting for me, but that's the point."

"I'm grateful to you, Jack," he finished, looking him eye-to-eye, "and I'm proud. You've learned to fight for yourself. This is all I ever wanted from you."

Azula - Closet shopping

Azula spent her time looking around in her area of the Bedroom, only periodically listening into Gloomy!Tira and Aria's conversation. Apparently, she was leader of that small group that was mentioned in the kitchen? She didn't look the part, but from what little she heard, she sounded capable. Azula made a mental note about that woman, and proceeded to see her closet. She raised her eyebrows in surprise - seeing her regal garb, her beach garb, even the garb she wore while in the Earth Kingdom.

The princess felt a creeping sense of unease at the sight, but the sudden appearance of Kage snapped her out of it. He wanted her answer about joining that group. Azula cleared her throat and smiled.

Well I am honored for the offer... she began, then pausing and nodding over to Tira. But would she like someone like me to join your little group? She might not like the idea of a kid joining... she finished with a non-chalant shrug, seeing how they would react.

Ryuko - Eatza Pizza

Ryuko audibly burped and wiped her mouth finishing her pizza as the others discussed ways to improve the team. She was on her way to interject with her own ideas, before seeing a battered Ranma come inside. Ryuko rubbed the back of her head, looking at the state of the martial artist.

"Wow, you've seen hell. I'm with her, mind explaining that...?" Ryuko asked Ranma.

Explaining In The Worst Possible Way

Drifting in and out of consciousness for a moment due to the smatterings of injuries and the meditation that would help focus her life force on healing, Ranma almost missed the questions aimed her way. Still, enough training in the past let her knew that people's eyes were on her due to an uncanny sixth sense and they weren't being all that quiet either so there was that. "Nothing... much. Just spent a bit of time smashing myself... against a giant chunk of super solid ice until my bones broke."

Managing to wheeze that out, the exhausted girl held up a particularly swollen and crooked index finger that had swelled up to be three times that particular digit should be. "I'm getting close to learning how to poke things real good though... After a bit of rest, I'll get back to training. Can't... waste time. Gotta be... better for the rematch." Dark chuckling rang out as a bit of crazy maliciousness crept into her tone.

Menardi - Back to Heroes' Bedroom

Well, the kitchen had been a disappointment. Apparently everyone had gone to their respective bedrooms for making strategies and discussing matters in private within their own teams, leaving only a tiny group in the kitchen. Since Menardi wasn't going to return to the group in the bar, she might as well go talk to her team. Taking with her a bowl of apples (seriously, she felt like her teammates weren't eating enough), she returned to the Heroes' bedroom.

Yep, that was where everyone had gone. Even some of the people she hadn't seen since the Challenge had ended had ended up in here. Like the red-haired girl who only seemed to be around half the time.

"Hello friend," Menardi greeted Ranma. "You seem to have gotten lost in a landslide."

The Alchemist put down the bowl of apples and her mead on a nearby bedside table. Then, without bothering with asking for permission, she started channeling Venus Psynergy into Ranma with the intent to heal her wounds with a Potent Cure. The earth Psynergy would make the wounds heal naturally but painlessly and at a greatly accelerated rate.

Soma, Hero Bedroom

The way it sounds, the first assignment was the defense of a civilian population, one that has failed spectacularily. Yeah, I can see why some of these people are so angry now.

...but why weren't all Heroes defending that church then? Was there some tactic in works or did it just not work out at all somehow? Funny; you'd think it would be the Villain Team butting heads with each other, not the other way around.

And then that red-haired girl showed up and what have you done to yourself yeesh. Menardi returned to the room in the meantime and had some right choice words for what appears to be another martial artist. "Look, Miss, I don't think "black and blue" can be considered better. And, uh, even if Menardi heals you right back, hurting yourself like this isn't going to bring you much progress."

"...for that matter, should I help with the healing?" I ask the current healer. "It looks a little awful for just a single healer to handle."

"No pain... no gain. You have to work... for progress. The road of a... martial artist is full... of pain and suffering." While that sentence may have been technically correct, the fact that it put said girl in this state would have detracted from her words in the eyes of the more mundane non-martial artists. Truly, most if not all people (and even some of her fellow followers of the martial path) would say that what she had gone through was pure insanity, not so much training as a particularly self destructive way of masochism.

In a way, they were right but it wasn't nearly as bad as it could have been. Having been through many scrapes, the girl knew her own breaking point (heh) and thus factored that into the grueling punishment, maximizing gain while minimizing time spent out of commission. The concern was touching though and something almost foreign since most of the time such training sessions would garner only slight sympathy to outright apathy from the surrounding people. "Ain't nothing much."

Twitching and tensing herself at the feel of the foreign energy entering her body, Ranma slowly relaxed as it went to work at hastening the speed of the rebuilding process. Peering towards Menardi seriously for a couple of second, the fighter gave a slight nod of the head and a terse compliment, eyes conveying grave respect. "...Thanks. And less lost and more bogged down after the landslide." Gathering herself to regulate her breathing, Ranma steadily gained full control of her body as the swelling went down, flesh re-knit, and cuts sealed up.

"And don't worry, a genius like me only needs a bit of time to get an understanding of what I want. Now that I'm on the right track, things won't nearly be as painful as before. I'm just about ready to get back on track, thanks for the offer." The combination of outside synergy and internal ki intermingled, multiplying an already steady healing factor into something stupidly overcharged.

Looking way better now, the martial artist flashed wiggled her previously broken fingers before flashing a thumbs up at all present. "Good as new. Name's Ranma Saotome by the way, flashy newcomer. Student of the Saotome Branch School of Indiscriminate Grappling." Eyeing the rather eccentric outfit Soma was wearing, the pigtailed girl gave a friendly wave as though her earlier wretched appearance was naught but a mirage.

Menardi - Heroes' Bedroom

"This little is no problem," Menardi said to Soma. "But thanks anyway."

Indeed, the Potent Cure Psynergy worked fast, and did a lot at once. Ranma would be fully healed of her injuries relatively fast, and then Menardi would break off the flows of Venus Psynergy.

"You're welcome, Ranma," Menardi said with a satisfied smile and a nod. "Just remember, pain alone does not equal training. I have known a lot of young fools who think that just because building muscle hurts, all hurting means you're getting stronger. Also, healing does nothing to replenish your stamina or help your muscles recover. Rest, warrior, and eat."

From the tone of her voice, she would tie Ranma to her bed and stuff food in the redhead's mouth if necessary.

Suika, Hero Bedroom
Well, not like she expected much. Always worth a check. She nodded and waved goodbye to the catman, and headed back into the room.

She must've gotten really lost on the way back or something, because by the time she got back Menardi was there, that one kid was just recovered from the edge of being physically broken, and all in all it seems like the oni had missed something. Strange how time passes you by when you're not drinking, eh?

Now, while it would be a bad idea to not give him a break, she couldn't just let something said by her new rival go by so easily. Yes, it was entirely petty and they were still on the same team, but Suika couldn't let all of that go by unpaid. So, she walked on over to Ranma's side, and uncorked her gourd.

"Ya know something that does a body better than food and rest? Alcohol. Have all ya like," she said, smiling and pretending she wasn't right next to Menardi.

Penemue, Pool Bar
"Oh, sure. I'll try to not kill people too hard," Penemue said to the caped, blue and generally incredibly idealistic crusader. The only thing that could really give him pause in killing people right now would be the idea that there has to be some kind of cooperation between these two teams to get out, but whether that was at all possible remained to be seen.

Jan echoed his thoughts about the man rather well, and he nodded in support. "Whoever you are, you talk like some kind of fucking propaganda piece. If you really want to get anyone's support, try coming down from your pedestal and speak like a normal person."

...School of Indiscriminate Grappling? I'm not sure I would advertise a school under such a name. Also, flashy? It's... I suppose it's not the usual fashion choice, but...

Just roll with it, Soma. "Nice to meet you, Ranma-san." I reply with a small bow. "My name is Soma Cruz, though regrettably I do not attend any school of martial arts." A small pause. I... suppose I could get this out of the way? Better to acclimatize them sooner than later. Here comes the most awkward reveal of all. "I suppose I also wield a bit of Dracula's power."

Well, it's a half-truth. "A-anyway, uh, if there's ever any need for healing, I can help too." And just in time for a change of topic, Oni Lady comes back, uncorking her gourd and presenting it to Ranma. "Uh... I... don't think alcohol helps, actually." Maybe to dull the pain, but probably not in healing the actual damage.

Staring blankly at the suddenly much more personable dragonkin than she had particularly remembered, Ranma's mouth quivered up and down a few times as she went through the throes of wanting to say something but not being able to put it in practical words. Really, it was like interacting with Herb and having them suddenly turn into Akane to put it in terms she knew, from outright vainglorious to easily agitated tsundere. "Y-yeah, no problem for someone like you." For once not putting her foot in her mouth, Ranma swallowed any further protestations when her body rebelled due to sucking up so much ki.

Falling on her side and her stomach grumbling rather audibly, the neo-girl's face reddened to a vivid crimson color that shined almost as brightly as her locks."Yeah, food sounds good right about now." The horned child that appeared right by Menardi's side said something about booze and put the teetotaler on high alert, mostly because of how awful her experience with alcohol had been in the past. Still, even if she was probably an oni, Ranma Saotome ain't a bully towards children. "N-nah, booze and I don't get along... Just makes me act crazy before zonking out a minute after I drink the bottle."

The man of fashion paradox spoke up next (seriously though, what kind of man would wear fur trim with hippy pants), claiming to be some sort of occultist that channeled the power of that vampire guy. "Ain't where your powers come from, it's how you use it, man. You're a hero so that means you got a lot of good in you." Waving off his concern and giving an encouraging grin, the young dojo heir's approximation to the monster hunter went up a few notches at his affable attitude.

Trying her best to maintain her dignity and miserably failing due to being unable to not lie on her side while blushing brightly like a cherry, the martial artist could only grit her teeth and ask for help at this time. "And um, I don't really need any more healing thank you... maybe some food to convert into energy like Menardi said." Such concern from a multitude of people that didn't want to drag her off to the altar at the drop of a hat... honestly it was overwhelming the poor gender bender and pulling her out of her depths. And yet, it was liberating not needing to be on guard all the time...

Tira (Villain Bedroom)-Moving on

Tira suddenly smiled at Aria as she nodded. That makes sense, I guess. Ok Aria, no problem, you let me know if you wanna change your mind later, I like having more fun people in Team Murder Buddies!

With the conversation over, Tira turned to Juri and frowned. Awww. Someone beat themselves all bloody and blue, and I missed it? Boo, first I missed all the fun in the town, and now I'm missing silly people beating themselves up!

Then Tira smiled and leaned up close to Juri. So, tell me all the details, who was it, how bad was it, did you get pictures? I wanna see if you did!

Raiden (Hallway)-Maybe not the best place to talk?

Raiden grunted as he slowly removed the hand from his shoulder and started walking in the direction of the game room. "Don't get too happy yet. You're not wrong. I fight my own battles now. My own wars. I fight for what I think is right, no one else. And with that in mind, if you keep fighting on the side of the lunatics who slaughtered that town and turned that woman into something out of a B-grade horror flick, you're going to remain my enemy. You wanna explain what the hell you're doing working with these nutjobs? Half the people I've seen make the Dead Cell look positively sane by comparison."

"The same reason you're working with the people who orchestrated... whatever that was supposed to be," said Solidus, negotiating smoothly around the cardboard box. He didn't even give it a second glance. "Not a lot of choice here, Jack. Vamp was insane, but he was reliable. These people aren't. You know what a militia looks like. If it bothers you, just be grateful they stopped where they did."

He wheeled around as they reached the game room, slamming a hand against the doorframe to bar his protégé's entry - if he wanted, he could pluck the arm from its socket without a second thought. Solidus didn't seem to care.

"But don't forget who we are. All we had was an objective and a set of targets, and we both did exactly what was expected of us. That's war, Jack. That's our business. We have the aptitude, and we have the taste. Don't lie to yourself. I don't like this any more than you do, and I don't intend to play this game forever. I know damn well you don't either. "Superman—Bar'''

Superman listened with his arms crossed to Penemue. "I'll try to talk with the other heroes about it. Only together we might have a chance to escape. They might be spying us, but the producers still need us alive to keep this third rate show going."

However Penemue's last words stung him like a dagger piercing flesh. Had he lost his touch with humanity? The villain with the name of an angel had a point. " You're right," the man of Steel sighed. "They call me Superman. My shield might give a clue." He tried to joke." Sometimes It's easy to forget that a Superman is still a man."

The when Jan spoke about seeing himself being irredeemable he told him. "Jan, the greatness of humanity is that when we fall twice, we stand up three times." He looked down, trying to sound more down to earth. "Your past or who you are doesn't have to define you, even a Nazi deserves a second chance. "
