Scott, Team 1

Scott yawned, scratch idly at his stomach as he plodded along behind the group. He was so bored, he'd even gotten bored of complaining about being bored. They'd gotten past the soldiers without a fight, and hadn't seen anything since. Just more shitty city. Heh, shitty city. Once or twice he found himself stumbling awkwardly over some obstacle after he tripped on it, having almost dozed off while walking. This was more walking then he had done in a long time, and he was starting to feel it.

The hazy cloud that had fallen over his mind was swiftly scattered with the piercing howl that echoed through the dark; sending chills up the young man's spine. He scrambled quickly after the sci-fi lady with the weird legs, traversing the pile of rubble with ease. After the initial fear had worn of, it was quickly replaced by excitement and anticipation. He'd never fought animal enemies before, and he was looking forward to it. "Oh man, I hope they drop good loot."

SCOTT EQUIPPED THE POWER OF HEARTBREAK

A burst of purple fire once again shot from the broken heart on his shirt as the familiar handle of his sword slowly rose out of it. Gripping it, Scott dragged it from his chest with a dramatic flourish, lighting the surrounding area in an eerie bluish-purple glow. Unexpectedly, something else followed this. The distinct, mouth-watering scent of cooked meat. Scott blinked dumbly at the steak impaled on his sword, cooked to near perfection. He'd totally forgotten about that. Grinning, he laughed and turned to look for the demon lady. When he spotted her, he brandished her sword in her direction. "Hey, lady! Look, it worked!"

There was supposed to be a dinosaur joke here...but I seem to have forgotten it

Not what I intended... Xigbar thought, barely managing to teleport away from the counterattack by the knight-golem. "You might wanna move outta their firing line, I hear death is an unhealthy prospect." he joked to the woman he saved before focusing on the enemy as a whole.

Heeding his comrade's advice to target the mage group, Xigbar then unleashed a Graviga spell to temporarily distract them before firing a volley with his signature weapon, hoping they didn't have defensive spells in their arsenal.

Susan, Team 1 - The Beasts
The next leg of the trip was a little more comfortable; Susan had lazily floated forward, always keeping close to Shizuka on the off chance that they needed to become invisible again. It was only mildly awkward to hang over a teenage girl like a phantom, because she had an excuse.

When the howling started, Susan quickly followed the suggestion of the besuited woman, moving into a circle along with the rest. Unlike the soldiers at the checkpoint a wolf wouldn't exactly be useful after you got done with it, but they didn't have guns, armor or any sort of reasoning. At arm's length, she would have the advantage with her claws. She could actually look somewhat useful!

The poor armless kid removed the meatpatch, and asked for a weapon of any kind. Nobody was immediately handing him anything, so she stepped up to the plate. "Shirou, on the ground," she loudly whispered. Indeed, there was a weapon there: nothing that you would ever want to use in a fight, being only a femur bone shaved and sharpened to a point, but it was a weapon. She gave him a thumbs up and a hopeful smile, whether or not it was going to be useful.

Breaking her attention away from the impromptu gift-giving party was Scott's voice. Susan looked his way, and was glad to see that he had remembered the roast at the perfect time. Even if she was a little far away, she could tell by the perfect shade of brown and the smell that it was going to be sensational when they could get around to eating it! That wasn't right now, but it would hopefully be soon. "That's great, Scott," she said, giving yet another exaggerated thumbs up and trying to keep quiet. "Really! Save it for later, though. We'll taste it after we're done."

The smell of the meat gave her an odd idea. These wolves (and maybe a mountain lion, she hadn't exactly exercised her knowledge of wild animal calls in some time) were already closing in on them, so even going by Mission Control's advice they wouldn't be hiding or getting by them in one piece. They were probably smelling them more than they were hearing them, right? Let's see if they'd like something even better smelling.

She raised an arm, focusing on a point about 30 feet down the street. There wasn't going to be time to make these meats look appealing, or smell normal, or anything, they would have to come out completely unrefined. Suddenly, a great torrent of blood, organs, muscles and other very strong-smelling meats started flooding from a hole in the ground, creating a wet pile. Susan wasn't sure if this was going to do anything, but it couldn't possibly hurt. She exclaimed to the group, "Let's see if they want some bait!"

Jack-O', Group 3

As the bank's roof was vaporized, the resultant soot and debris brought a great irritation to Jack-O's eyesight. And by the time it cleared...

Eight wizards on a Brachiosaurus stared down at the misfits hiding behind the counter in the abandoned bank. Jack-O' could only regret that it came to blows this easily.

With the knights about to be dealt with, the bounty hunter saw fit to follow the little Blue Bomber's advice. She leaped out of cover and now floated before the Brachiosaurus.

With any luck, these particular mages wouldn't have any particularly good aim or decent maneuverability. As Jack-O' floated, she brought the ball and chain tied to her leg close to her chest and held it with both hands. The jack-o-lantern opened wide, its maw now glowing bright orange. Beckoning Bat with a chant muttered under her breath...

"Remove...the Chain of Chiron..."

...and Bat responded in kind, launching a great fireball out of Lantern's maw, and headed straight at the Brachiosaurus' side, not aiming at any wizard in particular.

On collision, the fireball would do what'd you'd expect, and Jack-O' was hoping the resultant explosion may take out two of the wizards at least. As soon as she finished casting, she cancelled her Float and landed back on the ground, not intent on letting herself be an easy target.

Reimu - Team 1

Wolves. Seriously? When were they gonna face something in Reimu's weight class? For once in her life she wished she was up against some bloodthirsty gangsters instead.

Reimu followed Tali's instructions, falling into a position where she cover an angle not already covered by the woman with the high tech shotgun. She was trying really hard not to curse, knowing it was just a waste of breath right now. Around her, the various swordfighters were always getting into position, while the ninja and meat lady were preparing distractions. Good thinking.

...Reimu was kinda disheartened to see Shirou getting prepared to fight the beats with a sharp stick, though.

"Emiya!" She loaded her handgun and offered it to him carefully. "Can you fire a gun? It's semiautomatic, 14 shots in total. Safety is on."

She would have to make do with her revolvers. Whatever she couldn't kill with 12 .45s was gonna kill her anyway.

"I'll be wanting it back afterwards, so be careful!"

Emiya Shirou; Group One - Or, The Bone of My...

Beef Lady to the rescue! I pick up the femur with only half a stumble, testing its weight in my hand. The balance is all off and it's far too light, but it'll have to do.

I'm winding up for a practice swing when I hear my name.

"Huh?"

Hakurei's pistol points at my nose like a gas main gone wrong.

"Oh. I mean, thanks, Hakurei, but no thanks. I don't know how guns work. 'Sides, swords are prettier."

It's true. Having twenty-seven revolvers in your head doesn't mean you can shoot a semi-auto in your hand. I was going to give Hakurei a nickname, like Gun Gal. But we already have the Lady Lady. And she has more guns.

"By the way, Soryu?" I ask, kinda nudging the gun in her direction with my nose.

Actually, what if Hakurei's the type to get real angry? Then she can be Haku-rage.

"Don't quote me on this," I confide, "but I think you're meant to pull the trigger."

Ooh, Haku-rape. Like the seed.

"I hope you can still aim straight. After all, that is a lot of eye-milk."

On second thoughts, never mind. Gun Gal it is. For now.

(You have to be considerate about these things. Girls are real delicate.)

I grip the femur tight and close my eyes.

"I am the bone of my… uh, bone. Trace On."

The femur fills with fissures of electric green. It warps and opens into a million splinters as I Strengthen, knap and forge its fragments into something like an edge. Before long I'm holding a crude white machete, serrated like shark's teeth and dappled with porous streaks of marrow-red.

"I redid the weighting, too," I say, tossing it up and catching it. "It should have enough heft to cut now. Thanks, Susan."

Team 1 - The Beasts

Tucker was halfway through following Tali's orders when Will's voice rang out.

"Don't! These aren't regular wolves!"

Almost as soon as he finished his sentence, the Team's pursuers made themselves known. They loped into both ends of the street, and a few appeared on the rooftops. They completely ignored the pile of meat, even swatting it to the ground. And it became immediately obvious why Tali's plan wouldn't work:

These things were goddamn huge.

The wolves, if you can call them wolves, had the body and the head of a wolf, but both sets of legs were much, much longer than that of any normal animal. Their forelegs ended in human-like hands, each finger topped with razor-sharp claws. Overall, the package was around three times bigger than a normal wolf, at least, and if they stood on their hindlegs (which some of them were), they came to nine feet tall.

The bears were worse. They had the same razor-sharp claws, but were quadruple the size of a grizzly, which was huge to begin with. On their hindlegs, they came up to around twelve feet tall.

The horde (a small enough horde, there had to be less than twenty) pushed burnt-out cars out of their way like they were paper, and surrounded the now-bunched-together Alternates. They emitted a low growl in unison, and waited for the warriors to make the first move.

"Oh come on!"

Team 2 - The Skirmish

It only took a single movement to nullify a good amount of the Team's attacks.

Although Lady's rocket struck true and tore the minigun to uselessness, the turret of the tank swung around hard, and struck the engine block Delta had thrown like a baseball. The engine block would find itself streaking towards Ami (who, having taken cover in the nearest building, was in fact half a mile away from the main group). The way the turret turn to do this meant that Sypha and Carmilla's attacks struck hard armour instead of the planned guns.

Ami, Armani and Naruko faced little luck, due the thing's armour. The young woman's razor wind cut shallow gashes into the hard metal, and Armani's arrow stuck in the turret, a tank have no cockpit to speak of. Naruko's shuriken exploded harmlessly off the smooth, armoured underbelly.

Though, if anyone could actually get the angle on it, they would see that the razor winds Ami had directed at the back end of the hull had cut deeper than the rest.

The most effective attack came from Elesis. Her sawblade slipped between the gap that separated turret armour and hull armour, and cut deep into the turret ring. Not enough to cut the thing straight off, but the turret was now jammed in place, pointing off to the side.

The tank quickly maneuvered itself, turning so that the turret was repointed at the Alternates, and opened fire with the dual autocannons on either side. Although their covers stood up for now, they were quickly being eaten through by the sheer outpouring of extremely high-caliber rounds. It turned back and forth, making sure an equal spray was being dealt towards all the ground-based fighters.

Ami, on the other hand, was getting a clear view of it's back end. If she dodged the engine block.
Team 3 - The Patrol

Mega Man's shots struck home on three of knights. The two struck by lemon shots staggered backwards, but refocused their aim on the robot. The one struck by the large shot was thrown backward into the opposite building, his armour crumpling beyond the ability to hold a human being. It planted the butt of it's rifle on the ground, struggling to rise.

The rest were aimed in the same direction, and as a result, interfered with each other. As soon as the Blue Lantern flew above them, the wizards had a shield raised, deflecting the graviga and the Freeshooter's shots. However, Jack-O's massive blast struck the dinosaur well and true, sending it staggering sideways and a massive rain of red ichor flowing down to the street, where Mitsuhide would find no obvious foothold.

The staggering that Jack-O's attack caused made Naruko's thrown knight miss the Brachiosaurus' head, and planted it straight into Saint Walker's also-missing energy blast. A hole was made straight through the knight, showing it to be completely and utterly empty.

That was, until it crashed to the ground several meters away.

Something that also crashed to the ground: a wizard. Jack-O's blast sent the elderly man staggering over the edge of the platform, through the shield, and onto the hard asphalt. Given the moaning, he was still alive, but given the sickening crack, something important had broken.

The remaining five Knights (including the one still floating in Xigbar's spell) continued their plasma rifle fire. The one floating in Xigbar's spell was still trying to nail him with a shot, another had now turned it's fire towards Naruko, a third towards Mitsuhide, the fourth towards Icarax and the fifth continued firing at the bank counter. Meanwhile the remaining seven wizards started sending bolts of lighting and fire through their shield towards Jack-O and Saint Walker.
Team 4 - The Theatre

Meanwhile, Child, Eriana, Peter Parker and Queen Toriel would find themselves in a movie theatre. Before they could even get their bearings, a voice ran out from the speakers.

"Wait, what? Shit. Uh, hi. I'm Will. Please don't start attacking each other."

Over the course of the next few minutes, Will explained that they had been chosen to help capture a woman named Rook, that she held the key to stopping their universe from collapsing, that they couldn't send their own people because that would destroy their universe, that someone at the Center for Universal Survival was sabotaging their efforts by altering the list of candidates and having their transportation stolen, and that they were standing in a warzone being fought over by three factions who'd been fighting for half a century.

"And this, this has to be sabotage too. We have an AI system, Heimdall, that controls who on the list gets sent on the mission and at what time. But his parameters mean that he should be dropping you four into a warzone. We've had three snapbacks already, but the group was big enough to survive that."

"I'd ask you to bunker down here, but we can't risk the mobile base here any longer than it needs to be. But because we don't know where it is yet, we don't know where to send you."

"So, you have two options. We can send you after one of the three groups the team's split into, or... we have no way of knowing if Heimdall's going to drop more people in here, and if he's going to drop them solo. You might be better suited to running search and rescue for anyone he drops in."

Mitsuhide — group 3 — patrol

Seeing no way to reach the wizards perched on top of the dinosaur (and frowning at the ichor now staining his armour), Mitsuhide considered his options. He was lucky he wasn’t absorbed in thought, and so he noticed the armour aiming at him and threw himself sideways; the shot whizzed mere centimetres above him.
That done, the Samurai cast a quick glance at the wizards, who seemed to be occupied with his companions, and decided to charge the suit of armour firing at him. First, though, he stopped for just the barest of moments and struck the air with his sword, causing a cascading wave of white energy to rush toward the prone wizard. Leaving enemy sorcerers alive was never a good idea.

Queen Toriel - New Home

The queen of all monsters fell asleep in her throne after the long meeting about her plans about a "rebellion" by the locals in Snowdin, Waterfall, and Hotland. She dreamed about a simpler time, when there was no talk about a war with humanity, when she was still with him, when her children were still with them. She was in bliss, if only for a moment when she was woken up by one of her closest advisers, Mmuffed. The concerned spider lady checked to see if she was alright and she placed a hand on her shoulder, stating that she was fine, but it was a tiring meeting. Muffet was reassured, but still concerned about her recent behavior as she left the queen in peace. Toriel dozed off again, but this time, she did not dream as the sleep was cut short.

Queen Toriel - Theater

When she came to, Toriel noticed a few things: one, she was not in her throne, but rather a seating fitting for a theater of some sort; second, she looked around the room and saw the theater around her and some unfamiliar beings nearby, some noticeably human; third, a voice rang out, informing her group of where they are, what is happening, who else is with her, something about a Rook lady, and some "mobile bunker." Then, she was faced with a decision: join with a group or search and rescue anyone who may not be a part of these groups.

But before she could choose, she had to let it all sink in, as well as an impending, unknown threat, and the ambiguity of the ones who pulled her out of her world and whether to trust them or not. She stood up as she mulled over this situation.

Susan, Team 1 - The Were-Beasts
"You're welcome," she cheerfully said back to Shirou. It warmed Susan's old heart to see the boy take her bone instead of a perfectly good firearm. She briefly considered this just being one of his peculiarities and/or trying to help Asuka out, but seeing him somehow turn it into a giant bone-flesh knife was, to talk like kids do nowadays, "pretty sick yo." Susan would probably try to get him to make her one just like it when he had the time. Even if she couldn't hold it right, it would look great on her fireplace mantle back home.

Like she would get very used to feeling in the coming weeks, Susan felt like getting back home was going to be a very hard thing to pull off now. Like hell were these things were wolves, they were werewolves! To call these things wolves would be like calling a professional wrestler an baby. They were gigantic, they didn't seem to care about meat, and going by the length of their arms compared to hers they could probably take off her head and put it on backwards before she could tickle them. And that was just the wolves, not the bears. The bears could probably kill her by looking at her. And right now, one of them was definitely looking straight at her, its beady eyes filled with bloodlust. If there was someone who knew what bloodlust looked like, it was her.

She didn't take very much time to decide that, okay, I love these people and am glad that most of them were now technically worshipers and all, but I'm more concerned with my immediate future and how it could involve being dead.

Focusing on the ground beneath her, she tried her damnedest to open a hole and completely escape this situation. She was extremely surprised when, even after a good second had passed there wasn't a safe, comfortable gash in the fabric of reality to hide in. There was some hint that it was going to appear any time now, like she could feel a tenuous connection back home being established, but having to wait at all was a problem. The Veil must be really thick all the way out here.

Susan looked around her, looking plainly terrified, her eyes the widest they've been in some time. If this hole didn't open right the fuck now, she would probably not any more chances to decorate anyone's mantlepiece.

Team 3 - Bank Brawl

In between ducking his head to dodge enemy fire and firing back, Rock managed to observe the battlefield around him. From the one getting thrown by Xigbar and shot by Saint Walker, it was shown that the knights were, indeed, completely animated suits of armor with no one inside. At least the Robot Master can go all out on them if need be.

He then heard someone fall to the ground, possibly breaking bones. Rock prepared another charge shot.

"COVER ME!" he called out to the other, and then he jumped the bank counter and unleashed the charged shot at the knight firing at the counter. He then fired wild shots at the other knight as he ran, soon finding the downed wizard and sliding towards him, still firing at the knights. He kneeled to the wizard. "I'll get you to safety," Rock said to the wizard. "Where is your injury?"

Tali - Team One - The Beasts

As the immense mountains of muscle and sinew came thundering into view, their heavy footfalls sending a shiver through the ground, Tali immediately regretted her decision. He said beasts, not gene-engineered war machines the size of a Mako! And now I wish we had one of those, because anything less and we'll just squash under the weight when they charge! Her thoughts flew faster and faster as they stalked up to encircle the group. No tech to work with! They won't panic at fire! No time for ice or turrets! Keelah! Think, think, think!

Then the beasts paused and she took a slow, shallow breath, her dermal plates itching with sweat. It was a temporary respite, they were just considering how best to kill them all without any of their own being lost. The circle had at least bought them a few seconds. We need to get inside one of these buildings. She glanced around, looking for an open doorway. They're too big to fit through human-sized doors, but I'll bet they can smash their way through or climb in through a gap. Still, we need better cover. And we need to not die before getting there. Got it!

She took a deeper breath, one hand deliberately reaching back to the grenades clipped to her belt, detaching two.

"When I give the word," she said quietly, with no hint of a waver in her voice, "We head for that open doorway in front of me. I have a flashbang and smoke grenade. Anyone else who has something to blind them or slow them down should use it then, too. If someone trips beside you, grab them, but nobody stops. Ready?"

She brought the two grenades up to her other hand, fingers flicking open the covers over the triggers.

Team 1, Naruclone 1

"...Wow those are big." The copy's voice stated with a sort of awed and hushed tone that sounded like her words were being eaten. If she was the original, she could have just went wild and jumped into the fray. But she was naught but a fleeting shade of her creator, one that was more fragile than glass. One good hit on her and she'd be destroyed and then the rest of the group would have more on her hands to deal with. As such, the blonde could only do her best to prolong her existence and play things a lot more cautiously than a shadow clone was expected to normally do so.

"Right behind you." Whispering back to Tali and licking her lips in nervousness, the now focused shinobi primed her own pepper bombs, eight in total due to each hand holding onto four of the canisters between her fingers. "Damn it, since when did a Shadow Clone have to worry about not dying early?" The throwing motions were practiced and smooth, canisters spinning towards the feet of the beasts so that it would be harder for them to slap said tools away. And then, the pepper bombs would burst into a cloud of stinging smoke should nothing go wrong and try to overload the targets' heightened sense of smell with its aggressive fragrance. "I'll cover our rears since I'm temporary anyways! The rest of you go on!~"

The clone deciding to be ready to go out with a literal bang, she simply smiled and activated the Bunshin Daibakuha Jutsu before retreating, slower than just about everyone else to throw as much sharp and pointy objects while spreading caltrops all over the place as possible once the others vacated the area. She was expendable and only really good for being a paper tiger, and thus took on the choice of being the sacrifice with a lighthearted smile that was much entirely at odds with the situation. Oh, and if she got damaged enough to pop, she would do so with the intensity of a particularly powerful concussion grenade. The girl was ready to literally jump into the biggest throng of beasties she could find once she felt herself destabilizing.

Team 2, Naruko

"Man, that's a really sturdy thingamajig. Engineering would love to see what it's made of back home." The blonde stated as she peered behind cover before ducking back, seeing what was once sturdy stone being chewed up by a hail of metal pellets. Thankfully some of their attacks had an effect, the bloody looking kenjutsu that the woman in red used seemed to have wrecked the swiveling of the main tube so now it had to manually drive around and to target the group.

Her blue eyes narrowed in thought as the boxy looking carriage with legs showed its flank just long enough to see that there was an area on the vehicle where the attacks dug deeper into material- the back. Where all the other portions received at best a bit of a scuff or a tiny scar before bouncing off, the backside of the legged thing looked to be at the very least less armored than the rest. "Hey, that weird box thing doesn't seem as tough in its butt. Someone should bumrush it there." Saying it just loud enough that the others could hear, Naruko then prepared for something fun for her and probably quite a lot less for said tank.

Biting her thumb and then slamming said hand on the ground to summon some help, the girl was soon engulfed in a huge puff of smoke. "No one shoot my toad! He's a friendly!" When said smoke cleared away two seconds later, a squat and rough-skinned orange amphibian wearing a jacket appeared, his height as large as a car was long. "Yo, I need some toad oil, preferably slathered on or near that metal box with legs over there." The summoned toad peered over cover for a moment before pondering and then nodding its head decisively before using its tongue to pick up the ninja and put her on its back. And then the power of a car sized toad's legs went into overdrive as it all but launched them up at a five degree angle a hundred feet into the air. "Everyone, don't get too close! There's gonna be something really hot happening really soon!" The girl all but shouted out while on her mount.

From that point where the two soared directly above the current battlefield, the giant amphibious summon then puffed its giant amphibious cheeks for a moment while its hands showed a primate like quality complete with even thumbs by flashing several hand signs in quick succession. What came out of the entity's cavernous maw could only be described as a high pressured deluge of oil as though it was pumped out of a fire hose, as though it was taken from an offshore oil platform and pumped directly out of the toad hole. Naruko's wind chakra was added to the Water aligned Jutsu's mix, which had resulted in the pressure being hose-like rather than simply a viscous splash, turning the standard Toad Oil Bullet Jutsu into the Wind Release: Toad Oil Bullet variant .

Oh, and then another explosive tag was tossed down towards the area of the spreading oil while the two were descending in an arc since the tank was rather far enough away from everyone else, which turned it into the Wind Relase: Toad Oil Flame Bullet Jutsu which... was pretty much made to create a rather large conflagration given right now it looked like a river of fire was flowing forth rather liberally given the high speed current of flammable liquid and the wind tunnel that was directing it in a controlled fashion so that such a scene was more selective in targeting than it otherwise would have been.

Team 3, Naruclone 2

"Bad day, bad day, bad day!" Scrambling around wildly to try to avoid the shots from the other suit of armor, the girl ran to and fro in a seemingly wild fashion that cast irregular movements into her actions while dragging the slain armor around like a sort of anchor. Of course, doing this in a place with this much debris was bound to create a dust cloud of sorts, especially with how fast the ninja and how heavy the armor was. With the two covered up in a cloud of smoke, the shots would then hit something in the cover... which turned out to be the armor with yet another hole in it.

As for the blonde, well, she was gone. Though there were what appeared to be a salvo of shuriken whizzing through the air that split in the middle to perform what would appear to be a pincer assault on the dinosaur, five shuriken in each throng. Of course, being a ninja, it turned out that half of the group turned out to be a transformed Naruko who had capitalized on the fact of using said aerodynamic form to whiz through the air fast... and in her hand was a beach ball sized orb of rapidly spinning energy after she revealed herself, sailing through the air at high speeds from sheer momentum towards the giant dinosaur with an expression that was all but predatory as she got ready to smash said extremely violently spinning orb onto her target.

Scott, Team 1 - Battle Start!

Scott shot Susan a thumbs up back, along with a grin. "Sure!"

Turning back to his sword, the young man soon found himself with a dilemma. He needed to use his sword, but the steak was on the sword. He could take the steak off the sword, but he didn't have anywhere to put it while he fought. He could... put it in his mouth? No, that could possibly get in the way of his face when he was fighting. Maybe he could... aha!

Scott quickly pushed the steak further down the blade, the flames of the sword apparently unable to hurt him, until it was positioned just above the hilt of the blade; like a meaty tsuba. Besides a few drips of meat juice, it was perfect. Shifting slightly on the uneven ground, he got into a fighting stance. He was looking forward to this! Finally an opponent that wouldn't just cheat and use a gun. The cripple had good tastes it seemed, since sword were a lot more awesome than guns. He was about to tell him as much, when their opponents came into view, and he did a double take.

Werewolves. They were going to fight werewolves. And bearwolves. Wait, no. Werebears? Yeah, that sounded right. They were all huge. Scott had never fought anything that big before, but there was a first time for everything. Of course, then people started talking about running from this fight as well. Scott slashed his hand through the air, frowning. "No way! I'm not missing the chance to fight a werewolf! You guys can run if you're scared, but I'm beating at least one of them." They were just oversized dogs, how hard could they be to beat? They weren't even at the boss level yet.

Making eye contact with one werewolf, Scott grinned insanely and pointed his sword at it: An obvious challenge. He shifted his footing only slightly, but to a trained fighter it would be clear that he was about to attack the werewolf.

Lady (Team 2)-Blindside

Lady smiled a little as her rocket hit and blew up the minigun. Other attacks from her allies were less successful as the armor blocked it. With the main gun disabled by someone else, the tank had lost much of its firepower and had to manually move back and forth to spray fire. This, plus the fact that it was attempting to distribute fire among all the attacks, enabled Lady to swiftly strafe a few feet to the side and dodge out of the way of the fire.

Lady was a firm lover of explosives. Thus, she knew quite a bit about tanks, being some of the most destructive hurlers of explosives in her world. And one fact that was identical for almost every tank she knew was that the top of the tank was the weakest. Of course, the top here was a few feet higher then usual due to the legs. That just meant she had to get a little more creative.

She sprinted forward, apparently trying to circle behind the thing. However, after she got to the side of the thing or it turned to fire directly at her, whatever happened first, she launched herself into the air, somersaulting over the tank and the oil, wherever the hell that had come from. Once directly over the top of the tank, she aimed her rocket launcher and fired directly downward, flying a couple of feet up from the force of the rocket exiting the launcher as it moved to impact the top of the tank and attempt to blow it apart where (she assumed) it was weakest.

Damian Wayne

Nightwing had, like much of the group, taken cover, but the tank's fire was now rapidly eating through said cover. He knew his power ring afforded him a fair amount of protection, but he didn't want to find out if this would be enough to penetrate it.

With subtlety long thrown out the window thanks to Naruko's attack, Nightwing flew ten feet into the air and created a life-size Humvee construct, which he promptly slammed down to the ground. If all went to plan, it would land right on top of the tank and damage it significantly, if not outright crushing the tank.

Vs Werewolves, Team 1

Spawn remained silent as the werewolves and werebears surrounded the party. It definitely wouldn't have been the first time he encountered a lycanthrope. However, these werecreatures were of a different stock than the usual sort. They were just plain big, brutally strong, and smart enough to taunt their would-be prey. Spawn looked at one of the bigger monsters, a werebear who was twice his height, and charged green energy in his fist. Had he had a proper weapon, he would have attacked right away. But all he had now was his magic, which wasn't nearly enough to put a creature as big as a wearbear down for good. But if he could coax the beast into getting close enough, he could get the advantage for sure.

"You first."

Asuka, Team 1 Firing Line

Asuka's hand flies to her eye on an irresistible reflex, smearing watery puss along her cheek, at which point the weight of the confirmation knits her eyebrows together and she takes the gun without a word. His idiot elbow scythes into her ribs on the way past, blessed by nature with a perfect coincidence of height and a gleeful disregard for spatial awareness, but she takes a certain solace in the knowledge he's the only person she'll have to outrun. Between the steak and the last few hours of an increasingly sweaty route march, he's beginning to smell like a jockstrap wrapped around an abattoir.

The gun, the latest in very few real ones she's been permitted to hold in her own hands, is heavier than she was expecting. Moreso with only two working fingers. Her other hand cups into the grip before the barrel can droop too much, but she's confident nobody saw. The grips are in her colour, shade and all, but in the moment that peels away into no particular significance.

They're here. The meat doesn't slow them down, because of course it doesn't. They must have smelled Shirou a mile away.

Asuka raises her gun with no particular tremor, and with a mechanical gesture centres her sights on the thing closest, a nine-foot wolf gently brushing aside a burned-out APC. There are no sparks, but something between the grind of metal-on-asphalt and its snort of exertion sends a jolt down somewhere deep inside her. The skin of her stomach tingles cold along wounds that weren't her own. At least this time the teeth are sharp.

Beyond herself and the wolves, the bears, the way the weight of them alone is enough to gouge claw-marks into the pavement, the sound of her heart pounding in her ears, there's not much awareness to spare the outside world. Tali's words do register, the plan does cement itself, but it all feels slightly abstract, words drifting below their own meaning. Next to her, she thinks she senses Shirou stiffen, but can't spare him a glance.

It's closing now, disentangled from the APC and leaving a row of four neat little holes where claws punctured steel. It's looking at her, looking at Shirou, looking at the gun, head cocked in a terrifying comprehension, but still. Relaxed, but rigid, stance wide. Ready to pounce.

Asuka moves her sights up to its neck and exhales, long and slow.

(Position target in the centre.)

"There's no time," she says, suddenly robbed of attitude. "On three, okay? One."

Eight cannisters touch down, tinkling lightly against the debris, but Naruko's words don't have time to register. For a moment the one closest looks like it might take that as the trigger, but stays put.

"Two."

Shirou sniffs loudly. Asuka shifts to the side, out of elbow range, reorients her sights accordingly, and puts her weight on her rear leg.

"Three."

(Pull the switch.)

Two shots at the base of the neck, sending hot brass spinning into Shirou's left cheek. The grip safety slams into the heel of her hand, unprepared, jaunting it out of her bracing left and jumping the sights up into the sky - it doesn't matter, she's already turning. Whether the thing's mortally wounded or just pissed off, whether or not she even hit, none of it matters. There's the door, there's her, and there's the ground between them. That's all there is.

Asuka books it.

Emiya Shirou; Group One - Or, What's The Time, Mr. Wolf?

Well, the wolves are big. And I bet I must smell delicious. Soryu seems like she knows how to use that gun. That's nice. Pretty odd for a girl, though.

I guess I should be scared, but I'm not. Huh.

I stand still, bone-blade hanging at my side like a link of sausages. The walking wolves, as big as cows, settle down to watch us.

So, are you going to tell me your name? All the other swords were real snotty about it.

Soryu shoots, then bolts. I wince. It's as loud as a falling fridge. Something hit my cheek, too.

"My name is yours to give, Master," says the bone-blade, her pockmarked face demure.

Despite myself, I smile.

Good. That's what I wanted to hear. Work with me, Fang.

She answers with a primal shudder of delight, and slips into my head. It's settled. She's mine, and I'm hers, and from now on it's just a matter of seeing.

The swords of my mind slide together and hold like shining basket-weave. I can think again.

"I am the bone of my sword."

Three more Fangs flash into existence in the air, floating behind my shoulders to form a triangle of teeth. The stress is insane. It's all I can do to stay standing - but I will. And I won't just stand. I'll get at least one of them so Soryu can be safe. Not just Soryu. Everyone.

"Why?" asks the Fang in my hand. "I thought you gave up on that."

I point her at the closest werewolf.

I don't know, I think. I guess I need something to live for.

"Justice?"

Maybe. I'll tell you later.

"There may not be another later. You aren't always like this. Your mind…"

Well, it's not about me, is it? Just the others.

"With all due respect, Master, you just met them."

And I just met you. Look where you're going for me.

One of her sisters blurs into a streak of blue, shooting straight at the nearest wolf's furry skull like a supercharged quarrel.

"I hope it won't be too damp," observes Fang philosophically, as I stumble into a lumbering run.

Carmilla & Sypha, Team 2

Apparently the tank was not going down without a fight, but neither Carmilla or Sypha were really in a position to fight it. They did watch as Lady would use her expert knowledge to attack the tank from above with her rocket launcher... However, Nightwing created a hard light construct above both the tank and Lady, which would kill Lady as well if it crushed the tank. Despite her trigger-happiness and bloodlust against demons, Lady had been useful to the team so far, and Carmilla knew she could do something to save Lady.

Thus Carmilla grew batlike wing from out of her back and flew between the top of the tank and the hard light construct to tackle Lady in mid-air and land some distance away from the tank, both safely on the ground with Carmilla on top of Lady. While Carmilla would have liked to enjoy her close proximity to a very attractive woman, this was not the right situation for it. From Lady's position, she would finally get a good look of Carmilla's pale skin and, more importantly, her batlike wings though those wings soon disappeared back into Carmilla's back. Carmilla rolled off of Lady and, as if guessing Lady's potential thoughts, addressed her directly.

"Lady, keep quiet about it until we are out of this warzone," Carmilla stated to Lady, wanting a mutual truce so long as there were much more important things for the two to deal with.

Delta - Group Two / The Skirmish

Delta crouched down at her position behind the truck to minimize her size, and more importantly, put her shoulders - and anyone on them - closer to the ground and less likely to get hit if their barrier was destroyed. Then, she flicked her left wrist, and remained crouching perfectly still as the Scout plasmid caused her projection to step out of her body.

With no need for the invisible and intangible ghost to worry about being hit by weapon fire or friendly attacks, the Scout charged off at full-sprint towards the tank alongside its allies. As it ran, it charged up a dosage of chain lightning in its hand. As soon as Lady fired her rocket and was far enough away from its lightning's area of effect, the Scout unleashed its electrical attack at the (hopefully) newly-exposed interior components tank.

Lucina, Team 1 - Tactical retreat

Lucina nodded as Tali spoke, her gloves creaking as she tightened her grip on Falchion. When she heard Scott's voice, and turned to see him taking a fighting stance, she cursed under her breath and half-turned towards him.

"We'll stand a better chance if we lure them into a bottleneck." She hissed, directing her stern gaze towards Spawn as well, along with anyone who seemed more inclined to stay behind.

Then Asuka fired her gun, Naruko threw her smoke-bombs, and shirou conjured three copies of his newly-forged cleaver from thin air and launched it beast-ward. That gave her pause, but only for a split-second, as the group started their race for the door. Seeing Scott still facing off against one of the wolves, she reached out and grabbed his upper arm firmly in her off-hand, pulling the stubborn boy behind her if she had to.

Lucina's heart jumped into her throat as she looked over her shoulder to see the orange-clad girl's slow progress. She knew this was but a shade of the original Naruko, but it still went against the grain to leave her behind. Looking forward again, she pushed Scott in front of herself and turned to back up the last few steps, sword held defensively as she held the rearguard, ready to intercept any beasts that made it past Naruko to get too close.

Master Yi, Team One- Hallucinations

Large werecreatures. Dangerous. It seems like the group, along with Yi will have to perform a tactical retreat. It might be suicidal to fight these beings in such a vulnerable environment...but why did he kept hearing a buzzing? What was that buzzing?

"I will pr-" But...as soon as he looked at his teammates, they all immediately vanished like dust and ashes. "Wha...where did you all-" But Master Yi froze in shock as he realized...that the environments he was before completely disappeared. He was...he was...how...

He was standing in the dead center of the ruins of the village of his people during the chemical attack. The screams. The burning. The ruins. It's too real. As he turned to look at the beasts, gone were the werewolves and werebears. Instead they were replaced by humanoid and large red eyed ravens with 6 eyes wearing golden robes and armour. Staring at him. Staring at him. Always staring. Always staring.

Noxian scum. Noxian scum. Noxian scum.

Why did this happen.

Why won't the screams stop.

I smell burning bodies.

"My eyes are clouded." Yi finally said after a long minute of staring at the beasts, his other teammates suddenly reappeared, seeing them sprinting at a door, he followed them.

Why won't the buzzing stop?

Ami - Team 2

Ami lacked appreciation for the history of the technique she was about to use. She didn't know it was used to hunt half-demons. She didn't know that until very recently it had been used only by the Nanaya family. The only reason she even knew its name was because Miyako had said it and it was a short name. Sensou.

Fortunately, intimate knowledge of the history of a technique was by no means necessary to its use. As the flying engine block sailed towards her, Ami merely stood there, smirking. And then, just seconds before it hit her, Ami disappeared in a blur of motion. The engine block collided only with the building behind her.

And suddenly she was in flight again, diving low to the ground and rapidly approaching her quarry. All the while, she was launching burst of razor-sharp from her outstretched hand at the walking tank.
