Mikaela continued to lead her companions away from the mansion and through the town.
They eventually find themselves inside a supermarket, just past the front doors.
The Trader Joes itself is fairly small, but a quick glance at the signs shows that they have most of the food you're looking for here amongst the aisles. There are quite a few people about, picking things off shelves, but it's not packed by any standards.
Mikaela grins upon surveying the area and walks ahead to find some bread and milk.
Daydre looks around. He's not really sure what he should get, but he'd probably find something by looking, right? After wandering, picking up a miscellaneous dragonfruit, putting it back down because he remembered he didn't like dragonfruit, and examining some grapes, he decides to just follow after Mikaela.
off the shitsAs the group traveled to what's apparently now a Trader Joe's, the sky became slowly, but somewhat noticeably, darker as they went along. As they peruse the aisles of the super(food) market, the gentle patter of rain and appearances of umbrellas and raincoats by the newer shoppers becomes hazily apparent in the back of your minds, but the organic chocolate tins and hunt for the TJ's octopus for that free snack bar take up too much of your time to really note the change in weather.
[forum cryptid: it/it's]The past few hours of Ada's time had been spent perusing memes, conversing with some trusted friends back home, and dicking around in general. Getting bored, she closed her laptop and glanced out a nearby window. It's raining... I actually like the rain. Wonder if I can find an umbrella around here somewhere...
"Doki Doki Lit. Club" is a happy game where nothing bad happens. seriously tho? not for the faint of heart.Hm, it's raining? Hopefully it lets up by the time we're ready to go.... Daydre thinks to himself while continuing to follow Konk.
off the shitsMikaela, at this point, has gathered several different foodstuffs in a shopping cart. She also takes note of the rain, saying, "Ugh, it's raining? I mean, I like the atmosphere rain provides, but we have to walk back home through that. We'll be off soon enough."
She picks up a packet of cookies and placesthem in the cart.
"We good?", she asks Daydre.

You know what? Umbrellas are for pansies. May as well enjoy the rain while it's here, Ada thinks, getting up and starting to exit the library. She stops at her room again, to stash her hat and her computer.
"Doki Doki Lit. Club" is a happy game where nothing bad happens. seriously tho? not for the faint of heart."Yeah I think we've got enough food. Where're we gonna get the stuff for Emily, though?"
off the shits"Hm..", Mikaela pondered, "I think there's a hardware store somewhere around here."
A few moments later, Ada was standing outside in the rain, watching it fall on her surroundings. It had been too long since she'd been rained on. It never showered back home... In any case, she was perfectly content to stand, watch and listen. Maybe it counts as a form of meditation, she wasn't sure.
"Doki Doki Lit. Club" is a happy game where nothing bad happens. seriously tho? not for the faint of heart. The rain keeps coming down steadily, and you can feel the electricity on the air as gentle thunder rolls through the valley and soft slight illuminates the belly of the cloud cover above. The weather might be odd and strange, but all in all it's got a rather pleasant feel to it. It isn't falling hard at all just at the moment, but it's impossible to tell what it'll turn into later into the evening.
The theatre room is as you have left it: staggered seating rising up as the rows go further back, and the projector in the booth at the back. The white screen still rests on the forward wall, and a collection of movies sit on the same wall, just underneath. Oddly enough, the projector looks like an old film one but all of the movies are in at least VHS or DVD format. Weird.

[forum cryptid: it/it's]"Huh."
She starts heading back into the projector room to see if there's anymore equipment available, but there doesn't seem to be anything else.
"Yep, we might have to improvise here. Doubt it'll work, but it'll be worth a shot. Maybe we can check these movies to see if it's in there."
Erika shrugs, also heading for the projector room, hearing word of needing to improvise a solution. "Don't look at me... the last time I messed with something I didn't know, my life as I knew it changed drastically." She notes, before stopping just short of the entryway to the projector room, coiling up beside it.

the lights flick on. nothing's changed.
[forum cryptid: it/it's]The lights turn on, and Eisen takes a good look around the area. Empty seats, a forward wall, and a projector in the booth.
"I'll see if I can get the tech working."
It looked like one of the old film sort, yet there were DVDs and VHSes around, something that would not fit on the projector.
"Hm... it seems that the film projector doesn't look compatible with the stuff. Let me see if I can get its power on."
Eisen goes towards the film projector and checks if there's a wire leading to a socket. If the power source is off, she'll turn it on. Once it's powered, she'll attempt to "interface" with the projector to see how it works. It was odd that the input discs weren't the type that were inherently compatible.
"Alright, show me how this works..."
...eheh"Oh, good. Hope it's close by, though.."
off the shits"Yeah..."
Mikaela brings the cart to the register.
Daydre follows some more, looking over all the things in the cart.
off the shitsThere's a short line for all the checkout aisles, but the one you choose moves fairly quickly and soon enough you're at the front of the line. The cashier, a short young man with shoulder-length bronze hair, begins checking out your groceries. He throws a questioning glance at Mikaela's attire but doesn't comment on it for the moment.
((Notably, this is the first person in the store who's actually given Mikaela a second glance because of that))

Mikaela takes note of the glance from the cashier.
"Um...", she said, "Is something the matter, Sir?"
"Nah, just curious about who you're cosplaying as, it's a fantastic costume," they say in a distinctly female voice as they continue to check out your food.
"That's what I'd like to know." Daydre follows after Mikaela.
