The Steak Thread

Any steak medium rare with sautéed mushrooms is so good. In fact, I had some big, juicy steak tonight... Cooked perfectly.

Sauteed mushrooms on steak?! I never knew you were one of those heathens! I swear, if I had guns for hands, I'd catch a ride to your place and threaten you with a good time because it's nine in the afternoon and things have changed!

We had some burnt ribs this morning. Really did just look away for a second and next thing you know, 'WHOOSH' whole backyard is smoking, man.

Did you coat it in gasoline? I can imagine charring it and overheating, but a steak on fire sounds like slapstick.

Olive oil, actually. I was taking it out of the oven when it was done cooking, and it had a bunch of flames on it. Fortunately, they burned themselves out pretty quickly. And it still tasted good.

See, I was imagining a grill like how ours got destroyed. That clears it right up then.

I wouldn't mind practicing some baking now actually, if it weren't past midnight and we actually had anything to do it with. Though this is a steak thread.

I'mma going to commit blasphemy here, but I don't care. Sometimes I think a decent pork loin steak is better than all but the very best sirloin beef ones.

Bump, because I had an idea that I keep forgetting to post in here. ^_^;;

I had this unique idea for a dinner I'd like to try one of these days. I was thinking of a steak marinated in pizza sauce, and then when I'm done cooking it, I'd garnish the top of it with mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, and jalapeno slices.

I had most of a chuck steak my mother cooked tonight. It was delicious.

We usually go to Texas Road House Sooo good even though it is a chain place. Occasionally we go to a local steak place that is really really good but it is very expensive. It is for things like Valentines Day or Birthdays.

I'm going to have a ribeye marinated in teriyaki sauce tonight. I'm going to be watching a famous anime movie, so I thought I should have a good Japanese dinner to go with it.

Man, I'm vegetarian and even I think that sounds delicious :p

I really like the teriyaki sauce, though. It's amazeballs.

Last night, I had a prime rib and lobster tail at Outback. It was so good, I told the waitress that it's the kind of dinner that Tony Stark or Bruce Wayne would have.

I found out that in the city at the Altstadt market there is a butchery stand where you can buy some and then they hand it immediately to the grill station/restaurant stand they also operate and grill it to your liking right before your eyes.

I've never had good luck with steak. Every time I get one that literally everyone else is saying is fantastic, I find it tastes like either a shoe or pre-chewed gum.

Bump with an idea that I tried tonight. I marinated a ribeye in Hawaiian-style barbecue sauce, the same kind that I used on the pork tenderloin for my Hawaiian dinner just this past Monday. And it was great. :)

Man, whoever stil eats their steak well-done must really like the taste of solid hockey pucks.

I've never known anybody having it that way.

Neither have I, not in fiction nor real life. I like my steak medium.

Also, has anyone here ever had a steak from Peter Luger Steak House? If you haven't tried it and have a chance to go to Brooklyn, I highly recommend that place. Holy cow, their steak was amazing.

I'd rather have well-done steak than rare. That said, I'd rather have medium to medium-well.

Rare steak is nasty.
