I don't think gen VI had any traditional fish added. But seeing as this is Hawaii, I'm betting we'll see at least one new fish.

Am I honestly the one who sees more Poppilo love than hate? Like I'm indifferent to the thing but everywhere I go I see comments that say why do people hate poppilo more than I see comments that actually hate on the thing.

Rowlet and Litten were clearly more popular early on, but that made Popplio the clear underdog. So people who sort of liked now really like it to give it support, and that means that it pretty much matches the others in popularity now. Actually, it recently feels like Litten is now the least popular. Though they're probably all about equal.

It's probably my least favorite starter, but I don't think I hate it. Hopefully it's evolutions are good.

What would you do with a dolphin Pokemon to make it unique? Personally, I'd go with:
Water/Fairy
Swift Swim
100/40/80/100/60/120
And give it Water Spout, among other good moves.

I actually came up with a hypothetical dolphin-based Water starter that increasingly gains bat-like features and turns into a somewhat dragon-like Water/Flying-type that can swim through the air.
It's probably my least favorite starter, but I don't think I hate it. Hopefully it's evolutions are good.

Oh, and make it bluish-grey, with its Shiny coloring being light pink.

Popplio is my least favorite of the Alola starters going by base forms alone. Its design just feels wonky to me; the fact that the body's all one color makes it look a little unnatural, and the body looks somewhat flat and flimsy.
That being said, it's grown on me since the reveal, and even though I still like Rowlet and Litten more I've come to like it as well.
Don't have any comments on hypothetical dolphin Pokemon; I think that conversation's probably better placed in the general thread.

My view of the starters at the moment is Litten>Popplio>Rowlet. That is subject to change as evolutions are revealed.
I don't really understand disliking or hating Pokemon. Apathy, sure, but I rarely feel negative feelings towards fictional characters in general.

It was incredibly obvious, but Amazon's synopsis for the games mentions islands, as in multiple.
