I love it when the Battle Tree AI makes stupid decisions:
- Facing Plumeria's Mega Gengar. I manage to put a dent in it with my first Pokemon, but it's still faster than my entire team and can easily one-or-two-shot it.
- After my first Pokemon's down I bring out Incineroar and cue up Darkest Lariat. Mega Gengar is still faster and may be able to take it out or at least cripple it with Sludge Bomb.
- Instead it goes for a Mutual Kill with Destiny Bond.
- End result: My final Pokemon, Salamence, easily handles her Crobat with a crit on Zen Headbutt, then goes on to tank her Salazzle's Dragon Pulse like a bro, then one-shots it with Devastating Drake, whereas Plumeria would've almost certainly have won if she didn't sacrifice her Mega like that.
Hmm, I suppose the result might have been the same, regardless. Crobat would KO your damaged Incineroar no problem, and then we're back to the part where Salamence sweeps her.
My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes!Hm, reflecting on it, she could've still salvaged the situation if she'd had her Salazzle open with Fake Out then Dragon Pulse instead of going with the latter first. Combine the Dragon Pulse with the Fake Out and the Intimidate-nerfed damage from the Crobat's Cross Poison, and that should've been just enough to take Salamence out.

Haven't checked her particular Salazzle movelist though... did it have Fake Out? If so, I wonder why the AI didn't use it, since they always (to my knowledge) first-turn Fake Out when it's available.
My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes!I've seen the AI use Fake Out after the first turn.
So its been two months since these games dropped. What did you guys think of them overall?
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.I actually don't consider these games to be the definite versions. It is if you wanna play Sun and Moon and not care about the story too much. If you wanted a better story, play the originals.
Goddammit, Schezo... || *insert incredibly thirsty copypasta about Dr. Ratio*Sun and Moon have the better main story, but Ultra Sun and Moon are better in every other regard.
The thing that gets me about the story isn't that it's worse, but rather they didn't even let you try to skip it. Its jarring.
I do agree everything else is an improvement.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Well USUM helped me finally finish my Battle Tree challenge of only using species of my in-game team (and the Tapus to fill out). Multi was still giving me problems even with Kommo-o's Z move until I realized Decidueye probably gets Tailwind now and that freed up a lot of potential for him. Now I can't really get a good Multi video without Colress and me just mopping the floor with Red and Blue.
Overall yeah the story's a bit worse but the other best parts of Sun and Moon are made even better and a surprising amount of stuff I was hoping for when Sun and Moon were first announced were finally put into motion at least. Also the disappointing Totems were mostly replaced or changed so good for them.
I think USUM are superior. The story may be a lot weaker than in the first games (which I do find disappointing), but everything else is overall a lot better.
"Pardon me, that extremely loud and extremely deep voice you may have just heard. It was me. Oh, it is such a long story..."I've said it before and I'm definitely in the minority, but I like Lusamine's more grounded and less "drunk" motivations in USM than in SM. Ultra Recon Squad is still a waste of a perfectly good plot.
My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes! You're robbed of a Mother Beast Lusamine fight and I think that's a sin.

Honestly, I much prefer the Ultra Necrozma fight. Not only do you actually fight the damn thing instead of being a massive cocktease, it's a much harder fight and it has kickass music.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. When Diamond and Pearl Remakes become a thing, Arceus needs a buff or a mega esque form that manages to be just as hard as Necrozma relative to the level its at (Maybe post game).
Watch SymphogearYeah, 120 in every stat isn't exactly broken anymore.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseTFW power creep affects God.
Goddammit, Schezo... || *insert incredibly thirsty copypasta about Dr. Ratio*Give it a ton of new Mega-like forms, each one a different color, type, and with slightly different features. Base it on the Plate its holding (the story trigger is finding a Blank Plate for Normal Arceus). All new Arceus forms have 150 in all stats and a Z-Move from Judgement that changes Type to match Judgement's Type.

900 base stats? I am thinking maybe 140 across the board for 840. Alternately, maybe 120 base each and another 120 divided among non-HP stats, unique for each plate.
I was just thinking of giving Arceus a new move that lets it Mega Evolve like Rayquaza and the ability of this Mega Arceus is a super-powered version of Protean.

Protean + Adaptability?
Just give it the ability it had in Conquest.
Just give it an ability that lets it hit everything for Super Effective Damage and resist everything. And 150 Across the board.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.I don't think you even need to give Arceus a new form. Just boost all its stats from 120 to 130. Not only is its BST now on-par with Mega Mootoo and Rayquayquay, it doesn't need to be saddled with a gimmick on top of its Plate system.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!
Taking my sweet time with the main campaign. Totem Mimikyu didn't give me too much trouble, only took out two members of my team. I like the spooky Acerola they added to the Trial.
