I saw it briefly (the buttons at the top of each post weren't aligned correctly), but it seems fixed now.

We just fixed the issue with the buttons being mis-aligned. Minor typo in the new code.

I'm having a problem where a thread will show that there are new posts and will either take me directly to the most recent post in the thread, thereby skipping over any post I haven't read between the last time I loaded the thread and said post, or it'll take me to the last post I read and not show any post that posted after it and I need to edit the URL to get to the next page if the new post was on a new page or edit the URL to show a new page and then page back to the previous page to actually see the newest post after the last post I read.

Got that "skip to the next thread page" thing, too. Kinda annoying, though it seems to be a one-time deal that's cleared the next time I visit a thread that I've opened post-update.
(Edited, not a recurring problem, just the first time opening a thread since the change.)
A minor aesthetic issue I've noticed, though: The first page of the subforum thread index seems to be double-spacing the thread titles, but once you start paging down the titles are at their normal vertical spacing. As I said, though, "minor". No need to drop everything else just to fix that issue.

Because there were 70000 threads.
It's worse than that for me. Seems like whenever I open a thread with a pinned post, I see nothing. There's an empty block where the pinned post should be, and no other posts below it, on any of the pages.

Don't see that on my end, but the sticky post is not visible even after being enabled. Known issue that's being worked on.

Red mod posts (like the OP of this thread) don't seem to always be working. I know for a fact this post used to be red.

The Metroid thread is missing posts/pages from earlier this week.
To the question about the 70,000+ database tables, war877 is correct. The forum was originally designed to create a new table for every thread. I'm guessing that back in the day the forum must have used a My ISAM engine or something similar that had issues with so many users editing the same table. But it's not currently an issue with our database so it was just a huge pain that made it impossible to do daily backups or create a search for the forum and edit anything across all posts. Much easier now. I just did a backup of the whole forum in 5 minutes which use to take 14 hours on our old servers with all these tables.
As for skipping forum posts you haven't read, can someone re-produce this with an example? I tried to re-produce but when I go to my thread watchlist and click on a post I end up at the last one I read, unless I click on the date then it goes to the most recent post. Same thing with the forum thread lists.
And not sure what you mean about the pinned posts issue. Please post an example.

Example. A copy of the first post in this thread is supposed to appear at the top of the page, regardless of which page of the thread you are looking at. For me, there is just a empty thin rectangle.

I'm seeing the normal pinned-post bugs on some threads, but on others, like this one, I still see nothing except the empty pinned-post box, and the thread page numbers above and below it.

Re. rmctagg09's problem. It may be the case that the glitch happens because the last post on the glitched page is not a multiple of 25.
Hey tropers, we are pushing a major push to the backend of the forum today. If we do it right you won't notice anything so let me know if you notice any issues. This should make things a whole lot easier for adding new features in the future (ie: search forum posts, spam detection, etc.)
