Due to a previous lack of server space, edit histories had to be purged periodically. Even then, pages on TV Tropes rarely have a single 'creator', per se. Even pages that don't go through YKTTW may have had several people contributing to and expanding on whatever original concept the page creator had in mind when they saved the first edit to the page. On top of that, there have been enough changes to the site such that whoever curated the page the most may not even be around anymore.
The mods do have a few secret tools that let them view a bit more information about tropers and pages than we're privy to, so I'll let them chime in on that front.

"Jack, you have debauched my sloth."None of these tools you mention indicate the provenance of the page, unfortunately.
The current histories - page history, changes.php and edits by troper - are horribly unreliable. I have asked for some standardization there.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanOh well, thanks.
I wanted to personally message the author of the page Design an Alien Mind a thank you for sharing an idea that's inspired some of my own fiction, but the History of the page that I can see (between "Discussion" and "More...") doesn't go back far enough for me to see who originally wrote it. Is there somewhere else that I should be looking?
