I want to start a new index for Adventure Board Games, with a redirect from RPG In A Box. I have a YKTTW for it, but AFAIK it is for tropes only. However, I cannot edit both of those pages without being redirected to YKTTW. Do we have a separate namespace for indexes and redirects now?

For redirects, use the Edit Requests thread. For indexes, YKTTW.

But I can't select page type "index" when I make a new YKTTW—that's why I thought indexes aren't supposed to go there.
