Saw the trailer before 10 Cloverfield Lane, surprised I didn't hear about it sooner, I love Ryan Gosling. It look's pretty funny, I'm looking forward to seeing it.
This might be my favorite trailer because it is so retro.
Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureMan, this was a good film.
This film is a bit of one goes on becoming full blown alcoholic. Both Healy and March have traumatic event in their life. We do get flashes of March being a decent detective, when he isn't full blown drunk. After the house fire that killed his wife, he kind of just given up and drank his way through his life. Healy was betrayed by his wife, to which he's going to held that grudge forever (marriage is just buying a house for someone you hate). Unlike March, he actually actively seek to bettered himself. He considered the stopping of the coffee shop robbery the greatest moment of his life. He stop smoking and drinking (he refused ALL drinks offered to him throughout the movie) and learn new word per day. At the end of the movie, when they solved the case, and nothing changes.
At the last scene, he kind of just giving up on that self improvement as well, drinking liquor straight from the bottle and smoking cigar.
Man I hope this does well so that this and 10 Cloverfield Lane convince the studios to fund more mid budget high concept features.
Loved it.

Just another post to add to the general love of this film. It's basically Kiss Kiss Bang Bang set in the 70s, in terms of tone (which given it's another Shane Black script is not surprising) but the comedy whilst pretty black is genuinely funny. In particular the confrontation with the actual big bad (who was pretty obvious, but I think deliberately so) veers between suspenseful, hilarious and back again without ever missing a beat.
"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."
I was surprised we didn't have a thread for this movie. It is written and directed by Shane Black. Anthony Bagarozzi co-wrote the movie.
Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling are the two leads.
First Trailer
I saw this trailer in front of Batman v Superman and everyone in the theater laughed their ass off. It was the only trailer to get any kind of reaction.
