As bad as Drawn together the movie is, it has more problems then just being a really, really juvenile and crass film. Like how it's extremely preachy and hamfisted about it's stupid message.
I'd also say it's also got a lot of unnecessary padded out scenes(Like the bit where they listen to the DVD commentary) unlike Sausage party, but Sausage Party has the overly long food orgy that really doesn't add anything to plot. You could take that scene out and probably lose nothing. Plus, if we're unlucky, Sausage Party might have at least one Line-O-Rama scene. Why not? Just about every adult comedy in theaters seems to have them. Wouldn't be surprised if they managed to get one into Sausage Party.
My Tumblr "If theirs one thing I'm good at, it's blowing" Jesse Cox 2013This all sounds like all the ideas Seth tried to pitch to his friends that he couldn't use in his other movies either because they couldn't be pulled off convincingly in live-action, or were too squicky to even do. If you think about it, most of these jokes sound like things Seth Rogen and friends would definitely pass around over bottles of beer! Yet when they're ANIMATED, it somehow makes the jokes harsher.
Line-O-Rama?
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?^It's basically ad-libbed matieral {As in stuff not in the original script but added by the actors during filming}, I think. A lot of comedy movies tend to have those in it.

So is the source on that leaked script solid?
It leaked two years ago, Indy, during the Sony hack. That's about as legit as you can get.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?I guess that leads to a nuanced definition of "legit" - certainly one in regards to "can be believed," certainly not in a "through proper channels" definition.
That said, we must again acknowledge that said script is probably an earlier draft; from what I understand, the final movie differs from the leaked script (and I'm more than a little curious if some of those changes are because of the leak). So there is a chance that what gets released will be better than what's in that script.
Not that I'd hold my breath.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster. From what you've described it doesn't sound possible.
I'm not angry seeing another crass "adult movie"... I'm not torn over the blatant use of shock value to sell eyeballs... I'm just tired. Tired tired tired. Movies used to be such a magical thing, but now it feels as though everything I could go out an see is predictable. Predictable in their play-safe execution and overly high definition graphics sheening the surface of the media apple. Always the surface that attracts people like my parents, or the obnoxiously loud self-righteous high schoolers who play Counter-Strike all day and plagiarize their way through programming class [too specific?]. I see this and think "another rampaging swearaholic movie"... I don't see what justifies me going out and spending $15 to see this on a large screen. Well, I'm just judging a book by its cover here. If it looks interesting or appealing to you, then by all means, don't let my half-sleep deprived scrawl prevent you from enjoying this film.
[... is the complaint rule only applied to threads created? Am I complaining? I'm sorry if I'm breaking some rules here with my semi-rant, I'm new and a quite foggy when it comes to proper conduct, even after scrambling through the various rules posts.]
I wonder if the turnip market is making a killing today...I'm pretty tired to. More so it being another adult animation that doesn't try much. I'm getting sick of seeing adult cartoons that think just being offensive and/or gross equals comedy. We need more stuff like Rick and Morty, Venture Bros, Bojack Horseman, and Bob's burgers.
My Tumblr "If theirs one thing I'm good at, it's blowing" Jesse Cox 2013I can certainly understand. I don't quite like just how....predictable a lot of adult animation scene has become these days besides the aforementioned good shows like Rick And Morty....
I never really liked shock value humor, pointless gruesome images, or just rampant unneeded swearing. The sad part is this movie is likely going to set animation back again if it fails horribly which looks very likely unless they change things which is very unlikely or if there lucky enough to grab an audience of some sorts....
Formerly known as Bleddyn And I am feeling like a ghost Resident Perky GothThe problem is that if it bombs it's likely going to set adult animation back a few years (and animation in general by proxy).

Formerly known as Bleddyn And I am feeling like a ghost Resident Perky GothI think you're exaggerating. Even if this fails adult animation, like Rick & Morty, South Park, Archer, etc will still air. They won't be affected at all IMO. And when have adult animated movies been a big scene anyway?
Exactly. That and I've had it with Seth Rogen and I wouldn't mind seeing him fall into obscurity.
@186 As Albert Einstein supposedly once said, "the difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has its limits." I believe that there's also a paradox related to Murphy's Law that states that anything that can't go wrong, will.
For this film... eh, I think we're past the point where adult animation will be seriously threatened by something like this. Remain stagnant at the feature level? Sure. But there's enough good stuff out there that the medium will keep chugging along.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.I can't believe you're not more worried about what it will do to movies about anthropomorphic stuff!
I have to say, I feel like you people are being somewhat unreasonably pessimistic towards a film that's not even out yet.

@198 See the leaked script. It's not like we're basing our pessimism solely on one trailer or blurb here.
Besides, as the saying goes, it's impossible for an optimist to be pleasantly surprised.

Sounds like this going to end up being like Drawn Together's movie. Which is sad as that movie didn't go over well. Even with the fans....
