Film trailer thread

So, Something I have seen lately is how much we talk about the trailers, they are almost as important as film(sometimes even more because they can reveal to much or just outright lie about stuff) so this thread is about that: Trailer, your opinion and how well did you thnk they made it. in revealing stuff.

The Coen Brothers are masters at assembling trailers that are almost like distinct short films in and of themselves.

Well, we can talk about some trailer tropes that Hollywood has abandoned, like the voice over narrator. Trailers usually splices dialogue to tell the story or they put in text. I wonder if some movies actually add in exposition just for the trailer.

Then there's the music. Sometimes there would be music from other movies, or similar knock offs, but they seemed to have stopped doing that, now a lot of the music are library music.

Yeah, there's no more In a World… type of trailers anymore. That makes me kind of sad.

Ok, I want to revive this topic for two things:

First, I saw terminaitor genesis and is somewhat sad see how trailer spoiled the twist of john conner, and after taking of Bv S and Civil war make me ask you: how much a movie should reveal? and what trailer are better for you in that way?

Also, why in your opinion the ghostbuster trailer have that reaction? I dont want to tackle the whole "female cast" but how the trailer made the reaction it did.

To this date, this is my favorite movie trailer.

It's not even about the visual: I just love the sound so much, Joker's lines, sound effects, music, everything.
