"Do we really have to fight though...? I don't want to kill or help kill anything..." said Kaede, starting to look a little concerned. She looked at the assorted group of Digimon, they were all willing to fight but since they were still weak she couldn't help but worry about their safety.
Among them, though, she saw the one that looked like the pawn chess piece look at her. Kaede was quite into chess, so that particular Digimon caught her attention. It looked pretty cute and cool, which just made everything feel even worse for her once she remembered that all of them were willing to fight to death...

"I'd much prefer if the fights end non-lethally. In their own world, Digimon will revert to their youngest state upon death and be reborn. Here however... I have no clue what will happen. Negotiation is also a valid tactic if possible." Alpsam said slight fear in her voice.

"Hey, if me and Mephiles were already able to drive off a Tyrannomon by this point, then this should be relatively easy." Arashi says, already planning on helping if he can.
"Granted, you did shoot it in the eye with that gun of yours, which made it a lot easier." Mephiles replies, wondering if he should get involved at all.
"Look at it this way, you'll get to fight more Digimon and prove how strong you are to everyone here." "Okay yeah, you have a point there."
Note, I'm going to be color-coding speech to show which one is talking now.

"If these ones have chosen to fight. . ." Alexis pauses after those words, gazing off at Gazimon. So small, innocent-looking; how could it have chose the life of a fighter?
No. She corrected herself. It didn't choose the fighter life; the fighter life chose it. What kind of person would she be if she let someone who was forced to violence and brutality to save its own people suffer and fight on alone?
". . .then I'll do whatever I can to make sure they stay safe and can recover when they do, until we're able to help them save their own lands. Count me as on board." After she spoke, she gave what she hoped was a reassuring smile to Kaede, and then to the rest of the students present.

"A Digivice is only able to sync up with one Digimon. I would choose a partner you could get along with, or one that counteracts some of your flaws. Hmm... Ms. Willhelm?" she said looking at the German girl.

The strange white haired girl just kind of blinks at the mention of a fire arm, particularly at the mention of one being usefull, but then brushes it off, and goes back to just.... observing off to the side of the room.

"Aren't you at all interested?" said Sophie looking at the white haired girl.

"Um...I am in a marksmen class here, so..." Arashi says embarrassed, pulled a gun out of his bag and putting it on his desk; it can be identified as a Thompson Contender.

Trying non-lethal means huh? That was a lot better, at least she could try to do things without having to end the life of anyone. Ms.Carter was right though, the least she could do is at least try to keep the poor things safe from harm. Considering the display from earlier she could just store one of them in her phone and keep them hidden from everyone else.
"A question..." said Kaede, rather meekly, "how can we make them get stronger? Do we just... Press a button on this thing or what...?" she then began to fiddle with her new old phone.

"Apparently it involves converting human emotion into energy via various means. There are many different variations of the design that got sent to this world, so it may involve different situations for each of you... And as for you Mr. Shigehito. You keep that in your Gym locker outside of class, you understand?" she said with a disapproving look.

-So these creatures were... Literally data? From an actual server somewhere in the world? This whole deal had Phil confused. Several entire layers of the mere concept of the current situation just seemed... Impossible. It took a few moments but he finally started to form the seeds of his own rationalization for what's happening here-
So uh... If all these...
-He looked over the assembled digimon, unable to particularly note any that seemed to resonate with his likes-
'Creatures' are leaking out of a server because part of the server is having issues... Why can't someone just, youknow, go in and patch the server?
It's clearly a case of backroom political albumizing.
"Bonding me to one of those" she replied looking back up, "You said the variable maxes at 1?"

"Yeah apparently. I kind of like the Tapir, and the dragon thing looks kind of cute. Nervous about which one you'll get?" Sophie asked.
Ms. Alspam said "Patching the server can't be done without changing the data of what's already there. And what's already there is a bunch of sentient creatures. They are what take up the vast majority of the server's capacity. Some areas in the Digital world are nothing but frames, out of desperation to conserve room for he Digimon themselves."

"Well..."
Kaede stood up and walked towards the group of Digimon, stopping in front of the white pawn and giving it a gentle smile
"Hey there, little guy," she said, trying to be as nice as she could manage, "do you want to be my friend?" she asked, rather bluntly
There was a moment of silence before a response came. "Hello!" the Digimon said, showing what was clearly a young boy's voice, he then nodded at her, "I'm White Pawnchessmon. You want to be my partner?"
Kaede nodded rapidly "Yes, yes I do! My name is Kaede Katsuro." She giggled a little bit, though it sounded a bit forced. She then offered her hand for a handshake. "So... partners?" she asked
The Digimon stared at her hand for a moment before grabbing it and nodding.
"All right!" She then looked at her Digivice. "So, how do I make this thing sync with him?" she asked the teacher.

Kaede and Alexis's Digivice started glowing, showing a brief pixelized image of their partner in question. The same is true of everyone who had come here with their Digimon.

Alexis glanced down at her digivice for a moment, before pushing it back down into her pocket. She stood up and headed over to the group of digimon, before kneeling down to be at eye level with Gazimon.
"Hey there, little buddy. You can call me Alexis." She extended a hand outwards, reaching out and scratching at the bottom of Gazimon's chin.
The little wolf-digimon let out a pleased rumbling at that, pushing its head down into Alexis' hand for a moment; before it re-opened its eyes and pulled back. "I'm Gazimon. It's a pleasure to meet you, Alexis."
The two paused, staring at eachother's faces for a moment; before Alexis surged forward and grabbed Gazimon, pulling him off the table and into her arms. The tyke of a digimon flailed for a moment, before resigning itself to its fate and letting out a mock melodramatic sigh. "Ahh, curses. Forever doomed to be held in the arms of an agreeable Adult-stage Humon. . ."
"Hey!" Alexis protested. "I'd like to think I'm a little more than an agreeable adult-stage Humon, you know. How about your agreeable adult staged Partner-mon?"
"Please refrain from such horrible portmonteau, partner." Gazimon mock protested, and was met by a soft snicker from Alexis. Both now satisfied with their designation of partner, Alexis turned her attention back towards Ms. Alspam; Gazimon returned hers to attempting to weasel her head into Alexis' hands for more petting.

Ms. Alpsam giggled nervously. "I see you too are getting along. Feel free to give them a name by the way. I have a some other Digimon with me of the same species, so it's nice to know which Gazimon will be helping you guys out. You're choice though."

"... Right, uh... Right."
-Phil was silently freaking out behind his current facade of confusion. If there was anything he knew from TV was that if there's an AI and the AI can self-replicate then you really ought to prevent the AI from existing anymore. But alright, he was willing to give these... things... the benefit of the doubt-
"Alright then, so we just choose one and then start rounding up the immigrants for... Something..?"
-He shrugged and fished around in his pockets for his digivice before approaching the currently unclaimed companions-
"So, uh... I'll take..."
-He was having a hard time, distracted by his thoughts as it was before he just put that all aside and decided to pick the one that looked most like it would be useful in a fight. And for that, he chose the weird vulpine-esque creation that inexplicably had tiny yin-yang symbols on it's legs. His reasoning? Whether through purposeful design by some art asset designer or generated by evolutionary algorithms, if it's got a distinctly Asian symbol decal on it, it probably knows Kung-Fu-
"Uh... The tall yellow and purple one?"
-Said bipedal figure stepped forward and nodded deeply at Phil-
A Renamon: "Greetings sir, I am a Renamon. However, as our host in this world has stated, an alternative name may be preferable."
-Phil nodded and tried to think for a moment, trying to think of a fitting name for what seemed just to be some sort of code running in the physical realm-
"Uh... Well... I... Don't have any ideas. I'll think of one later, yeah?"
-The Renamon remained silent for a moment before nodding-
Renamon: "That is entirely acceptable sir. I will refrain from giving you a name until I come up with a fitting one too."
"I... I already have a name..."

"That is pretty much the case... Like the Digimon you all have a choice, let me make this clear. No one has to do this. If people don't want to risk their lives, or simply can't afford the energy to do this they can simply say no. But I can control who gets these Digivices and I don't know how many Tamers will arise from this crisis." she said.
