The Aurora's crew attach several titanium cables to the Vigilant's hull, and rise into the air. The timeship's engines get it off the ground before failing again, and they barely make it into the vacuum. "Where do you want us to set you down?" "Uh, the nearest place we can get supplies, I guess." "We'll just set you down here, then..." The Aurora takes our heroes to a small asteroid, and attaches clamps to it. The hatches on both ships open, and the other crew enters again, but this time armed. "Yeah, we're taking this ship, and all of you. Sorry."

"This is sounding bad!" Fawful exclaims, still not entirely aware of the situation at hand. Just to be safe, he activates his pistol.

Heidrun laughed

"Ooh, yes. Heheh. This'll be fun - I wonder which side will have more casualties?"

"Take your bets."

As the Aurora lifted the Vigilant into the sky, Dagaz VII followed. With no warning that they were going to be transitioning into the Bleed, Maria stayed airborne, escorting the two ships.

Something was fishy. They were being dragged towards an asteroid. She was slightly suspicious, but didn't power on weapons just yet. As they landed Maria killed most of her velocity, the Hurricane drifting through space, as she feathered the comms button. "Dagaz VII to Aurora, is there an asteroid base here, or are we being picked up?"

Fawful begins searching the ship a bit, trying to find who was stupid enough to park the ship on an asteroid. Workshop, nobody inside. Deck, nobody inside. Lavatory, nobody inside. Entrance, somebody there. 6 people, actually. All of them with guns. "Helloing to you!" Fawful kept his pistol up. The fact that they held out their guns so freely bothered him.

"No, there isn't , weren't you listening? This is a robbery!" One of the leader's cremates is shouting, earning him a swift smack. "Just move out." They fan out, with one stumbling upon Fawful and pointing his weapon at the bean-shaped ex-villain. "Put your... whatever that is down."

The others storm the Vigilant, and Thomas loads his gun, not with one of the clips in his belt, but with one from the armory he had grabbed while waiting of rescue on the savage planet. The bullets were bluish and pointed, and would penetrate thick armor. He ducked into the corridor, waiting for the enemy to reach the control room. But a thought occurred to him, and he scrambled to get to the armory, treading lightly to go unseen. He retrieved a handful of small devices, and ran back to the control room, dropping them as he went. "Explosives," he said by way of explanation, before they started going off. "Well, here we go."

Fawful quickly dons his vacuum helmet and it begins to pulsate rapidly. All of a sudden, it sucks the gunman's weapon right out of his hands. Then Fawful charges up his own pistol. "You are made a mistaken, it is seeming!"

Maria quietly heard about the fact that apparently, her friends were being robbed.

Did they forget there was an armed fighter?

Because apparently they did.

Lazily, Maria turned Dagaz VII, the Hurricane turning in space to face the Aurora. Flicking a switch in the cabin the pulse lasers warmed to life. The Aurora was a strange ship - likely a personal ship, it wasn't as awe-strikingly large as a frigate, but it was far bigger than a corvette. "Well... this isn't a robbery. I'm armed, and dangerous, and currently pointing enough weapons to destroy an entire flight of strikecraft at your ship. Surrender is your best bet right now."

The unfortunate enemy crewman was not so smart, sadly. So when Fawful took his weapon and dropped a one-liner in his strange dialect, he didn't run, he grabbed a knife and dove at Fawful, trying to stab him.

The chief thief was not dumb, just ambitious, So he didn't panic, he though, and a solution presented itself to him. They fell back to there ship, and he pressed a button on his belt, causing his ship to rise into the air, not fast enough to dodge a shot from the Dagaz VII, but fast enough to snap off the small extended corridor stretched between the ships. A vacuum opened into the ship, with a defeaning boom, before the airlock self-shut. They then fired up their shields, hoping the confusion, and nice transmitted through the radio, would give them a window of opportunity, If Maria fired, they would be sent flying, but not killed. In return, he would fire a salvo of antimatter bursts. "Now you've made me angry, and people who make Angar the Angry angry don't live long. Hahahahahaha!"

"You are being disappointful, stupid one!" Fawful uses the helmet to jump high up out of the not-so-intelligent man's way, lands on the other side, and points his gun at the man once again. A few more seconds of charging, and the gun would be able to rip through the man's flesh in a heartbeat.

Before he could obey his boss' command, the mook was shot in the back, and fell to the ground, dying. Before he could even do that, though, he was sucked into the vacuum, his blood pooling into small balls and floating around. If Fawful wasn't careful, he would be sucked out as well, being so close to the airlock. However, if he managed to hold on to something and hold his breath for 45 seconds, he'd make it.

After a few seconds of radio silence (Maria held her finger on the trigger, her breathing slow and baited), the ship began to rise, tearing off the corridor between them. Maria fired a few blasts at the enemy ship, scorching their shields lightly, before she began to accelerate. A good thing, too - something streaked past her. She didn't know what it was - it was enemy fire, certainly - but she got the distinct impression it was very bad news.

Which only continued when one of the rounds hit a nearby, fairly large asteroid, and completely vaporized it.

"Jesus Christ!" she shouted, immediately ramping the throttle up to full and engaging the afterburner. Goal #1 right now was to get some distance, then turn around and open up. These guys had some destructive weapons and powerful shields - her best bet was to bring down their shields with laser fire, then let a Comet loose and sink them with it.

Fawful didn't major in astrophysics, but he was very well aware that air plus vacuum equals a lot of sucky-suck. He has his helmet latch onto the ground and makes sure it's on as tight as needed. Thankfully, Fawful knew enough to be aware that vacuum plus person equals corpse, so he holds his breath as well.

I had missing of that feeling! Fawful thinks to himself, referring to the murder he just committed.

The Aurora twisted, and Maria's shots fired into the shields, depleting the charge and exposing the ship itself. The missile smashed an engine, and it began spiraling, firing wildly and barely missing the Vigilant a few times. As they did so, Angar managed to hold onto the control panel, and smash a red button, sending a signal out. In seconds, their backup married. From behind the surrounding asteroids came three more ships identical to the Aurora, guns blazing. Thomas wasn't a military man, but he knew whence'd been page, so he activated his comms and summoned the rest of the group. "Guys, there's a few ships in the hangar, we can use them to make out these guys." He did so himself, hoping the computers and his intuition would allow him to make use of the craft. It shaky roe out of the Vigilant's hangar, and he spun around a bit, narrowly avoiding being vaporized, before he managed to figure out the controls.

Heidrun sighed, calmly establishing communications with Angar's ship.

"Ya know, too bad about whatever world you come from... we were on a quest to save it... but, sorry, nope. Everyone you know just died. It's on you, douchebag."

As Maria darted through the system without being opposed (having ignored Angar's comment) she twirled back around and opened fire with the pulse blasters. A couple of shots from them brought down the ship's shields, and she immediately switched to the Comet. Electronic beeping filled Dagaz VII's cabin as the anti-strikecraft missile locked on, and she let it loose.

The Aurora lost an engine when the Comet rammed into it, and the vehicle began spiralling, having lost control. It was firing wildly, perhaps trying to take its aggressor with it. For a moment, Maria allowed herself to relax, and then immediately regretted it when weapons fire streaked past her; she began running evasive maneuvers, the flight computer compensating for the reduced load of the missing Comet.

As everyone else began to get into the other fighters stored inside the Vigilant, Maria checked the radar and saw three other ships at full strength - all with the same weapons. "Be careful, these guys have some strong guns! Not sure what the hell they're firing but I don't think I can take any hit without getting atomized!" She continued evading the enemy shots, with several near-misses nearly taking out her fighter.

All it would take is one hit anywhere, and E=mc2 would turn her fighter - and by extension herself - into an expanding cloud of vapor and pure energy. Antimatter was a bitch. And death was something Maria fancied avoiding.

Thomas nodded, trying not to envision what madness his diminutive companion would wreak with an array of antimatter cannons at his fingertips. "Yes! Just get moving, if you hadn't noticed we're in a bit of trouble." He hit an enemy craft once, but it's shields absorbed the brunt of the blow, and he was forced to try to dodge an incoming missile.

"Bah!" Angar the Angry was not a sentimental man by any means, and he had no remorse for his planet. He said so. "I have no remorse for my world, or any, so long as I get to keep bathing in money and the blood of my foes. Die!" He fired again, almost hitting the still-grounded Vigilant, which was trying to dislodge the corridor from the airlock. They finally succeeded, and it's shields went up, deflecting the shot. Meanwhile, Angar's subordinates were trying in vain to get a lock on Maria's fighter, which was moving faster than their computers. "Dammit!" He fired a missile, but it wasn't locked on properly, and fizzled out, hovering like a sea mine.

As Maria skirted through the bank of return fire she eventually managed to get far enough away that she could start to turn around. As she began pulling around to re-engage the Aurora, she heard that dreadful, dreadful warning tone - the one that indicated enemies were acquiring missile lock.

"Shitshitshitshit-" Maria entered serious evasive maneuvers, losing the ability to do much but pilot and perform the breathing exercises necessary to keep G-force from knocking her out. It seemed to work - the missile they fired apparently stopped in space.

With the missile lock tone clear of her ears Maria focused on bringing her ship around properly, and then got a clever idea - taking a moment to stay still that she hoped wouldn't be her doom, she feathered the laser blasters at the missile, hoping to blow it up and cause at least some measure of damage to the enemy ships.

Fawful excitedly ran to the hangar, but before he got in a ship, he remembered something quite troubling.

Fawful has no idea how to fly a ship.

"I am having bad news! I cannot be help for you in this battle!"

Thomas grumbled a bit, hoping Magiano and Kojirou would take the initiative to help out, and responded to Fawful. "Fine, get to the bridge and help the boss to get us out of here. We don't want to kill all of these guys if we don't have to.

Angar was having a bad day. A couple of straneg and spandex-clad pilots had taken his bait and they were close enough to stealing their tachyon drive, before they started getting competent. Now, he was inches from a shard of his own shrapnel, rocketed through his ship by a fighter who had danced aerial circles around him and then killed him. After these thoughts fled his hazy mind, he asphyxiated. Another of the ships fired on them, making sure none of the crew was taken alive. It was callous, but standard procedure for these pirates. They then began using gravity wells, to try to trap Maria and rip her ship apart. They would also train their guns on it, but she could still eject, leaving her ship on autopilot, if it had that capability, or use another of the many ways out that were available to her (but that the GM can't think of).
