So.. is "Join the Army," They Said only about military recruitment? Or can the phrase itself be expanded to more examples of like "Go to X, they said. It'll be fun, they said."

That kind of thing. I'm trying to decide on whether or not the latter would count as misuse, and if there's room to make a separate trope out of it.

I know there's no new Stock Phrases and whatnot, but this is a line of dialogue that seems to be spoken enough to trope about.

The trope is about military recruitment propaganda, not about the stock phrase. That said, it is poorly named because people will inevitably confuse it with said stock phrase.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"

This just came up in Image Pickin', too—both the name and the image foster confusion with Recruiters Always Lie. Was planning on getting it to TRS at some point.
