"Shit, they found me."

Wait, no, he thinks. They wouldn't go as far as to use nukes on him. Maybe they found her, then...? Then again, he's not sure they even have nukes. Maybe someone else is here, finding something completely different. In fact, that seems the most likely case.

Still, if there's anyone in the vicinity with nukes, it's still in his and everyone else's best interests to get the fuck outta there.

"Anyways," he turns back to the camera, "what I need is to get out of here as soon as possible, and it looks like that's about to be what you need, too. If the captain's out for the count, do you have anyone on duty who can temporarily take his place?"

Rakiri eventually catches up, stepping onto the bridge. "Uh. There a reason you ran all the way up here? And whaddya need from the captain so bad? I mean, his mates would probably be able to take over for him, but they're also not around so...yeah."

He glances over to Zevai, puzzled. "Nuclear explosion...uh...what the hell have I missed?" he says, going over to the captain's terminals to see if he can find a playback of the detonation, if possible.

Arboretum

Tor responds to the scratching by nuzzling back slightly against Dom's hand. "Well...my beast form is not usually so...potent. There is growth, but not normally to this extent. Basing it on the size of the dose I took...anywhere from an hour to...a day..." he answers.

"I won't say me losing control of myself is impossible, or unlikely...and for that reason, I plan to remain up here until my body is stable again. I can feel the nature around me having a bit of a subduing effect on my mind presently." he answers Dom and Aur. "If its possible, lock down this floor until then. And if I do somehow manage to get out, I ask that you do your best to corral me back up here."

He looks over at Matthew, noticing the blood. "Matthew? I'd recommend you go get some aid from the Med Bay. I'd do it myself, but...I am not presently able to, I am sorry."

Med Bay

Greg snores on his cot in the med bay, occasionally muttering.

Amos takes a breath to calm himself down. "But I...ugh...alright. S-Sorry..." he says, and then starts to push himself up, using Chris partly as a support. "Being upset about it isn;t going to help anything...I'll...talk to him about it later..." he decides, idly rubbing the wrist of his organic arm. He shifts his gaze as Peter comes in the alley and nods quietly. "Okay...thanks...and yeah, I still want to do that..."

[Troperia Hangar—Aboard the Godsgift]

"I'm not concerned about the operating system, Eddie! Hurry up and disembark! Godsgift's ultradrive is—"

Chaos. Noise. Terror.

Silence. Darkness.

Pain.

Silas groaned. He was sore all over, and couldn't quite figure out where his body was. He opened his eyes; the ship was upside... Wait. No, it wasn't. He was upside down. Gingerly he righted himself, rolling his head this way and that to work out the kinks of the way he'd been lying.

Where was Whistler?

"Ship," he said warily.

"Hi, Silas!" came the AI's chipper response. "I see you are awake. Would you like some bacon? I don't actually have any, but I can synthesize the chemical components of—"

"Where is Whistler?"

"Oh," Godsgift said. "Shit. I mean... He, um, he's asleep in the crew quarters. You shouldn't disturb him."

The AI's response made Silas pause. Godsgift was sentient? It was beginning to come back to him. The Zones had shifted. They must have stayed shifted, since Godsgift was sentient. Either that, or...

There was only darkness outside the ship, as near as he could tell. Darkness and stars.

Sy frowned. "Why not?"

"Because it's rude! And also, he's injured, but I'm taking care of him, and he's definitely actually there, and you don't need to check to be sure that he's actually there."

The human moved over to the console, keyed in a few commands. He watched the numbers dance across the screens.

"We've taken off," he said breathlessly. "Faster than light. We're out of the Slow Zone."

"Yep! Pretty cool, huh? Too bad we, uh, haven't run into anybody yet."

Silas frowned. "Godsgift, what exactly is going on?"

"I, uh, I don't know what you mean! We're in space! Pretty cool, huh?"

"Stop saying that."

"But—but—Space!"

Still frowning, Silas walked to the entrance to the crew quarters—a glamorous term for what was really just a small room with two small beds and no other furniture—and opened the door.

Whistler lay sleeping on one of the beds, curled around himselves. He didn't look injured, but he was certainly asleep.

"Don't wake him up," Godsgift said.

"Whistler, wake up," Silas said, loudly. The sensitive hearing of a Tinish pack made them very easy to wake up. Whistler, however, didn't respond. Silas walked to the side of the bed and reached out to jostle one of Whistler. "Whistler, we need to talk. Wake up."

After a few seconds, a few of Whistler began to stir. Ed's head came up first, and stared straight at Sy.

"Oh!" Whistler said. "Uh. Hi, Silas! Sy. You look, uh, well."

"What the fuck is going on? Why are you acting like that?"

Ed's head cocked to one side. "Like what? I, uh, don't know what you mean, Sy! Did you notice we're in space? How cool is that?"

There was a second of silence, and then Sy's mouth dropped open. He stepped back from the Tinish pack.

"Oh my God. Oh my God, Godsgift, you fucking—"

"No!" Godsgift exclaimed. "No, no! You don't understand! I told myself to do it! I mean another version of me. You're in danger! I mean not you, but another version of you."

"Explain. Now." The human returned to the cabin and began to pace.

"Well, um. You're an—"

"I know. Explain why."

"Uh. Uh. So... We found a ship." The AI went on to explain what he knew about the situation. How they'd made a backup of him when they'd disembarked onto the Troperia. How he'd only just been activated himself, by the current version of himself, and how his current version had instructed him to make sure the brain scan of Silas—which had, he admitted, been made secretly—could be run as an AI in the event that—

"Wait," Silas said. "Exactly what danger am I in?"

"Uh. You're, um... Well, the short version is that you may or may not be playing host to some kind of evil alternate personality that might destroy you. And we don't want you do die. You know, completely. So you're the backup. Of yourself. Sort of. In case you die."

Silas put one hand to his forehead. "But that hasn't happened yet."

"No, I don't think so."

"So why the fuck am I awake and having this conversation?"

"I was bored."

"Godsgift, you can't create a sentient AI just so you have someone to talk to!"

"I didn't! You were already a sentient AI! I just woke you up to have someone to talk to! Look, we're in space!"

"It's not even fucking real!"

Zevai frowned. "It was... Wait. Hold on. That... No. Rad profile doesn't fit. That... was a fusion reaction containment failure."

It wasn't the first time it would have happened - magnetic bottle containment failed rarely, but it failed on occasion on accident. See: her lighthugger. Generally, though, it was something darker - sabotage. If it was a magnetic containment failure, then she could trace orbits back aways and find out what ship it was. A few simulations later, bad news. Very bad news. "Well, that's bad. That 'Prime'? I think that was her ship."

The camera turns back to the mysterious figure and Rakiri. "As Rakiri just said, the second in command and third in command are currently aboard the station itself. There is no offically designated fourth in command. While I have training, and have been allowed to fly this vessel-" suddenly the consoles next to the captains seat light up with huge red padlocks. "-I have already put the ships controls into lockdown, awaiting the crew aboard the stations return. Or till the captain overrides me of course." Suspicion and oddly stern sounding, even if it was just a act comming from the teens voice out of the camera at Afterwards.

It turns back to Zevai, sounding more uncertain again. "Perhaps... I don't know for sure. I don't have access to external sensor logs from here... If so... That explains some things.." He responds, not really aiding but trying.

Lounge

Michael continued to translate idly while clearly being rather distracted by the goings on elsewhere in the ship, tablet on the desk, earpiece on, ect. His multi-tasking rather impressive.

Kyerine giggles at the translation given but seems to frown. "Did he say, Berserk feline based concussion? Is big kitty Tor okay?" He calls out across the room now distracted by this new topic.

Michael accidentally translates that before realizing the question is for him. "Oh uh.. Urm, I think so.. I don't know the details, he's up in the Arbore-" Before Michael had even finished, Kyerine has warped away elsewhere in a clearly worried expression. Michael just blinks, watching the ceiling lights next to Mirielle flicker for a second.

Arboretum

Matthew sits up and looks over to Toraq, though he does take a few seconds before doing so, still staring at his hand and shirt. "Chill out dude, its just a nosebleed... No idea why it started though..."

Suddenly Kyerine warps into existence. "BIG KITTY, ARE YOU OKAY?!?" He shouts and question as he appears, not having even examined what Toraq looks like right now.

Food Court

"And why-" Russell is about to argue something to Peter but backs down seeing Amos get up. Going a little quiet, still leaning against the wall. "Y-Yeah... Lets go... get those done then."

The boy responds, his other hand holding his badly squashed bag of breakfast still. Ruined by the events that has occurred here, between the ice-wall knocking him off balance accidentally to his current dizziness causing him to crush it into the wall. His mood didn't seem great right now.

[Near Alexander Station—Aboard the Ardor—>Alexander Hangar]

Andris watched vis readouts impassively. The station hadn't responded, and ve had no intention of waiting any longer than the time it would take to arrive. At present, with less than thirty seconds to arrival, that meant there was no more time to wait for a response. Out of courtesy—if it could be called that—ve sent one final message to the station:

Ardor to Alexander Station

Arrival in twenty seconds. I will be docking in your main hangar. I have no hostile intentions, but my ship is well-armed and I am prepared to force entry if necessary. Your cooperation is not required.

Shortly thereafter, vis ship seemed to coalesce out of the darkness of space. It was not like Bexahn's utilitarian fighter; it was sleek and yellow, with two massive fusion reactors on either side connected to a central bridge section. There were no weapons visible, but that meant very little.

The ship rocketed into the hangar, much like Bexahn's had done, at several thousand kilometers per second, and came to a complete stop almost precisely where Bexahn's ship had been. Its pressurized envelope dissipated, landing supports emerged, and the ship dropped unceremoniously—though smoothly—onto them. The ship had barely landed before its cockpit hissed and popped open, and the pilot vaulted over the edge, falling at least ten feet and rolling seamlessly into a purposeful stride toward the Troperia's main airlock.

Ve wore the brown-and-green clothing ve had picked up at the safehouse, what looked like a gun on one side of vis waist and a small cylinder on the other, and a discreet band around vis wrist, which ve now rose to vis mouth and spoke into. The device relayed vis voice to the Troperia:

This is Prime Andris. I have docked and am almost at your airlock. Please allow me to come aboard. I hope you will excuse the fact that I am armed. I have a laser pistol and a variable sword. I will use these weapons only in self-defense, and only if nonlethal methods are impractical.

[Troperia Airlock]

Silas groaned.

"I think he's waking up," Godsgift said.

The human sat up, clutching at his head with both hands. "What the hell just happened?"

"Yep," Godsgift said, "definitely awake. Silas, is that you? I mean, really you?"

Silas frowned. "What? Of course it's... where's Bexahn? I need to... I need to..." He trailed off, his frown deepening.

"Bexahn's, uh... gone, Silas," Godsgift said uncomfortably. "She left. Had other business to attend to. Or something. Who knows what a Prime is thinking?"

Silas shook his head, staggered to his feet. "No, she... She promised she'd bring Andris here. She must have gone to get Andris." He leaned against one wall. He still looked disoriented, staring around as if having difficulty figuring out where he was, or even which way was up.

"Sy, maybe you should uh, lie down. You don't look so—"

Silas pitched forward, fell to his knees, and vomited on the floor.

"—hot."

Zevai watched the outside cameras. She thought for a moment. The last Prime had held her word, and, given what had been said about Primes, Zevai had no reason to suspect this one would not. And, from what it appeared, letting this one on board would be less trouble then going to the trouble of denying access. Still. It wasn't her ship. She'd let somebody else make the call. [Alexander Station Hangar—Outside the Troperia Airlock]

There was no immediate response from the Troperia. Andris stood outside the airlock entrance, weighing alternatives.

Ve could probably force entry—or, more likely, find a way to sneak aboard—and if Silas became violent, that may become necessary. On the other hand, ve'd seen no indication of violence aboard the ship. It was entirely possible that Silas could kill without being detected, but on consideration, it was unlikely. He—it—seemed intent on preventing information about its true nature from being revealed, so the Primes who'd come close to that knowledge had been eliminated, but it was doubtful whether anyone aboard the Troperia had pieced it together. They were probably safe, at least for the time being.

No, Andris decided; forcing entry to the ship would probably create more problems than it would solve. Ve needed the goodwill and cooperation of the ship's crew if ve hoped to control the situation, and if they'd taken vis message seriously, Silas was probably safely contained.

Ve would wait.

"Very well. Anything else you need?" Dominic asks, getting up just before Kyerine teleports right in front of his face. Despite this, he doesn't look surprised; if he is, he isn't showing it. "He is, mostly. He just needs time to settle down."

He looks back to Matthew, who's nosebleeding. "It's probably nothing, but-" He stops his sentence, looking like he sensed something. "...Hm. You're radiating quite a bit of excess energy. It could be your body being strained from an unconscious use of your psionics. I don't know how much your body has healed from the attack."

Bridge

"Let the Prime in." Dominic says through the comms, and perhaps indirectly to Andris who's waiting outside. "I can't open the airlock from here, but I can get there in just a second if no one else is available. And someone keep an eye on the arboretum, with lockdown protocols on standby, as well as the shields for safety measures."

"Well, either way, what's done is- wait. Did you say like I can? ...Fuck." Mitch lower his head to his hands for a moment, realizing what just happened and trying to think of how to respond. "What did you see?" He asks, rather distraught.

The Troperia

Bridge

"Oh uh, sorry Dominic, of course!" Michael's voice replies both into the bridge and to Dominic's communicator in surprise, not expecting someone to actually take leadership. Indeed he did as he was told. Bringing up the Arboretum tab and being ready to lock it down, as well as a console on the bridge lighting up with the shield systems as they're remotely engaged.

He just hoped this Afterwards wasn't a tech expert, Michael knew his remote access and control while it looked impressive was pretty weak. A technopath, technical savant or really just a regular skilled hacker wouldn't take long to kick his butt out of the system if they wanted.

"As for the return of the other crew members. I do not see that within an immediately time-frame. They're deep within the station, many likely occupied by their... 'important business' i'm afraid." His voice continues to echo from the camera in a bit of a bluff, since he was pretty sure most were just relaxing or shopping; though it was only a partial, Lex and Jiko were still aboard as far as he was aware and actually doing business.

Airlock near Andris

The airlock near Andris suddenly opens, with Michael's voice echoing from a speaker. "Apologises for the delay Prime Andris, access granted. You are free to carry said weapons for self-defense..." It was perhaps clear in the teens voice despite trying to be professional and being pretty good at it over a speaker, he was nervous saying that.

Hangar

Blake puts a hand upon Mitch's arms and closes his eyes for a few moments, inhaling deeply before reopening his eyes the ignited crimson. "Bioreconstruction underway, scanning blood vessels and nerve tissue before heading to muscular, connective and epidermal layers." Mitch could feel his energy being used, actually though not that much of it. Blake was definitely drawing his but only tiny amounts of it, just being incredibly efficient with every draw and usage.

After a few moments of concentrating he begins to answer the previous question. "I heard bits and pieces. 'Avoiding your entire capacity' for example. What I saw meanwhile, A few memories, fuzzy but you were going berserk. Indiscriminately killing everyone." He responds, giving a honest response, he was wasn't gonna lie about it.

[Troperia Airlock]

The thing in Silas's soul knew it had made a mistake as soon as the airlock opened. Silas was too disoriented to recognize ver, but Andris stood on the other side of the open airlock door. It rapidly reassessed the situation.

The trauma of having wiped Silas's memory of the events aboard the Certum had left Silas so disoriented that he could barely stand, and while the thing could easily reassert control, doing so now might cause irreparable problems with Silas's psyche. The human's natural mind needed time to reassert itself as the master of this body—tearing it away again might drive the human mad, or simply turn him into a vegetable.

Then again, its survival might be worth the risk.

[Outside the Airlock]

"Thank—" Andris began to send to the Troperia's crew, but stopped when ve realized the airlock was occupied.

Ve hesitated for several milliseconds.

Silas.

But then ve looked at his face, peeled away the mask of skin, and peered through the haze of two minds to the thing frantically trying to decide its next course of action.

The interaction that happened next was nightmarishly swift. Andris lunged forward almost too fast for the human eye to track. Silas, still hunched forward over his own sick, kicked out viciously but haphazardly. The blow would have snapped vis neck if it had connected, but the thing was not operating at full capacity, and ve moved like a perversely violent dancer, sliding one flat palm against the side of his ankle and turning the kick away to the open air with barely any effort. The hand didn't waste a moment, moving straight from his ankle to his chest. Vis other hand traced a smooth arc down through the air, lightly touched the back of Silas's neck, and he went limp. Ve caught his fall with the hand that was already poised under his chest.

Godsgift simulated an impressed whistling noise.

Andris tipped Silas back and lifted him up into vis arms like a bride.

"He's neutralized for the moment," ve said, leaving vis communicator channel open to the ship. "Is there somewhere I can safely restrain him? A brig, or perhaps a medbay?"

Not that it'll affect much, but I'm going to retcon Andris's comment about using vis weapons in self-defense in order to make it more in keeping with vis intentions aboard the ship. Courtesy link.

"We have both." Dominic says to Andris through the comms. "There are maps throughout the ship. It shouldn't be hard to find your way. Perhaps I'll meet you there."

Val, who was talking a lot just a moment ago, becomes quiet again. He does react with a guarded expression when Brindle mentions interest, and partly suppressed anger as the war is mentioned again.

Both Izzie and Val's interests are caught when the others mention Kijo's numbers. "That's... odd, to say the least."

"Do you know anything about it, Val?"

"Not much, unfortunately. I know what works for my body, being a doctor, but this situation is too different for me to make a quick guess. Fused Echireans by themselves are quite rare, no matter the method."

"I-" Tor starts and immediately stops as he suddenly hears Kyerine's exclamation as he warps in. In a split second, he's up and gone, having taken off at a run, deeper into the foliage behind him.

Med Bay

As Greg sleeps, his body seems to radiate a gentle heat. In the air above him, small embers come into being, seeming to be making moving shapes and figures in the air above him, almost like a moving picture.

"Important business..." Rakiri trails off at Michael's use of the phrase. "...We're on Alexander. I completely forgot about trying to look into some stuff about the Echirean experiments. Shit." He turns and looks back up to the camera. "Hey, Michael, you know where David is? He can help maybe. And probably keep me from having to force my way in."

Food Court

"Alright..." Amos nods and takes his food. Seeing Russell has more or less crushed his, he holds out his bag to him, offering his to him. "Your pancakes are looking a little squished..." He says as they follow Peter, and doesn't comment on him apparently dashing blocks ahead. He's apparently gotten used to strangeness.

Russell shakes his head, still looking a little pale at Amos. "I'll pass... I can just eat later." he begins to follow. Still disorientated, his echolocative vision like a blurry landscape filled with static and pulsating with weird shapes that were not real, the sensation of walls getting closer and further of their own accord, all in addition to it being overwhelmingly loud for him like the sun constantly glaring at him no matter how he faced. He didn't get back on his board, even he couldn't manage such being this impaired with false sensations.

Once they pass a trash can, he dumps his squished food in and begins to subtly toy with and press buttons on his watch, trying to get the malfunction caused by Amos' unconscious attack against it to stop.

Kyerine puts his hands against his hips and narrows his brows. "Toraq, this is no time for hide and seek!" He responded, with a playful annoyed voice wanting to give him a hug and then warped again in a flash to the over side of the foliage right infront of where Tor currently is.

Matthew still staring at his hand covered in blood, facinated, fixated upon its red hue for some reason responds to Dominic. "Huh..? What do you even mean 'unconscious use of your psionics' i'm not doing anything? Anyway I feel fine..."

Bridge/CIC

"Uh... I have no idea where David is..." Michael responds over the Camera to Rakiri.

<Tekki:"Uh... Not really but Kyerine isn't actually Human. He just looks it. I think.>" The teen responded rubbing the back of his neck nervously.

<"Tekki:"..Ack sorry could you fetch me water. All of this messaging is hurting my throatl."> He requested, adjusting the microphone by his cheek somewhat.

"Damn. I haven't been around him long enough to commit his electrical signals to memory...guess I'll try the PA, then." He says and heads over to the console. "This isn't locked too, is it?"

In this case, he means general electrical signals, like the ones humans can produce in their nerves and stuff. And this is all I have time for right now, sorry.

"Wait-" Dominic starts, but both Tor and Kyerine are gone before he can finish what he's saying. He stands sideways, ready to follow if need be, but confident that the situation will work itself out. He looks back to Matthew. "You're a psion, quite similar to myself, though our abilities are different in origin." An almost invisible blur escapes his hand towards a nearby stone, and Dominic levitates it to demonstrate before putting it back down. "Do you know the way to the med bay?"

Hangar

"You can actually take a bit of my tissues if you need to. I can regenerate them easily." Mitch says to Blake, not visibly responding to the energy drain. He sighs when Blake explains what he saw. "Guess my secret's out, huh... Here I was thinking I'd learned to control it... Not sure I can even keep my baggage hidden much longer..." He says rather vaguely, looking down and away.

Tor hides in the bushes in front of Kyerine, laying down with his paws over his face. "Kyerine, please, stay back..." He pleads. With their connection, Kyerine should be aware of Tor's currently spiking Essence signatures, most of them being triggered from intense fear and apprehension. He might also be able to perceive something deeply primal as well.

"Oh. Well, ok...sorry..." He answers and pulls the bag away, deciding to just kinda hold it in his arms. He glances over, watching him fiddle with the watch. "What are you doing...?"
