Troperia - Training Room

Matt basically wasn't moving, hyperventilating quite a bit in his crouched position but making no acknowledgement of external stimuli. Something backed up by anyone trying to read his mind. It is a chaotic jumbled mess, with very little conscious or even subconscious activity. His brain entering a state of shock from the rapid decrease in blood pressure though the barrier helps somewhat but not against the serious internal bleeding, not caused by injuries but overexertion.

"That's not gonna l-aast that long on its own. H-he's bleeding internally, o-our bodies w-ere not-t conditioned to handle the-the amount of power he was using." Blake tries to explain stammering from both pain and alcohol moving closer to Matt but not touching him, the electrical energy around him too strong to safely touch. Dominic having his hand nearby could feel the static charging the air and his skin a little bit.

"I-If you felt another m-mind t-that's the control chip I t-told you before. W-well our 'boss' t-through it, V-vice Captain A-aryana Whitem-mayne or nicked named 'Legion' as her c-code name since her t-telepathy is that s-strong." Blake replies through a stammered headache. Not aided by his own blood loss.

...

Blake see's the seen with Rakiri and stumbles back starting to laugh till he gets a sudden spike of pain from his wound and is forced to hold his side.

Burger Queens

"I didn't mean it to be bad... Why didn't you eat in so long..?" Russell's tone drops again, clearly starting to feel worried that he said something to upset his new friends. Michael frowns a little seeing this looking to Amos, not being the best person to answer this.

Troperia, Hallway before Lab/Biolab

Te AI puffed her cheeks "Pet? NO! No I'm not Master's pet!" "Please... err I'm sure-" He didn't get further before he got a little whack on his robotic skull by the little AI, obviously a blow with such small force it couldn't damage him... but he was smart enough to understand the gesture. "Master would be nothing without me! Did you ever triy to navigate in space without a good navigation? Pet! I don't believe it." She continued to mumble something that by didn't sound nice by any definition of the word. Sha'koro raised his arms, trying to calm Aicha down "Please I'm sur-" Which earned him another whack. "Master, I didn't say you should interfere" She paused, puffing her cheeks again "And you big guy can be happy that I'm in a good mood today - so I'll forgive you... for now."

"H-holy shit..." Ana is obviously surprised when the dome explodes and a bunch of injured people come out.

"Hold on guys I'll get.. something. Sorry"

She runs off towards the Med Bay.

Med Bay

Ana looks around, for a doctor or first aid kit or something that would be helpful in this situation.

Training Room

Lex listens a bit grimly as she listens to Blake explain, and only smirks slightly before she collects the wood shrapnel flying about the room into a single mass in the center of the room. She moves over to Kijo and kneels, resting her hand gently on his back while nodding to Ana.

Bridge

Chris nods as Peter and Greg head down to check on matters, "Alright, I'll hold the fort." He assures them, right before the message from the Godsgift comes through. He turns his head to Izzie and Toraq, "Think it's legit?" then looks back to broadcast, "What's the problem, precisely? We'll see what we can do."
Cor watches the background events with a mix of worry and amusement, "You've certainly found an odd home away from home, haven't you? It's been slow so far, a few intriguing potsherds and signs of a rather large settlement, but beyond that, nothing much yet."

The girl on his lap pulls a small cat up onto her lap, petting it worriedly as she speaks to Toraq, "Mm hmm... I don't think the other kids'll like me..."

Merrick smiles and copies her motions, "Heh... I look forward to working with you too. And, yeah, that sounds fine. Are you doing this for all of the crew?"

He chuckles to Kyerine, "And where was the bear when you found it?"

Val's Room

Val wakes up from the telepathic message, and quickly dresses in light clothing before running to the training room.

Training Room

Peter arrives first at the room, managing to catch Rakiri in his antics. He stifles a laugh as he helps him to sit up, then does the same for Mitch. “Can’t believe… I got downed by a taser…” Mitch grumbles in pain, barely able to move.

“So this is what you were talking about before… We need to get that chip out before this happens again.” Dominic says to Blake, conjuring a Hard Light platform similar to a gurney and levitating Matthew onto it. He then creates more barrier ‘bandages’ over Rakiri’s arm and Blake’s leg, and prepares a second platform for the latter.

Val comes in next, assessing everyone’s injuries. “Who needs attention first?”

“Matthew has severe internal injuries. Get him to the med bay immediately.” Dominic says as he passes the platform to Val, who directs it out of the room. He places a hand on Matthew, focusing on psionically halting the bleeding and accelerating the clotting & blood vessel repair processes.

Med Bay

Val sees Ana as he walks in with Matthew on the platform. “Oh, you’re already here. Good. Can you prepare that bed over there, some suturing kits and surgical tools?” He says to her, pointing to a bed on the corner. He also pages Tor to come to the med bay.

Bridge

“Seems like it.” Izzie says to Chris. “Don’t forget to translate it back to their language.”

Blake nods to Dominic as he wanders over towards the center of the room and climbs up on some of the equipment to pull Matt's blades out of the embedded ceiling. "Y-Yeah that i-is what I was t-trying to do b-before D-avid caused this to start." Wincing in pain as he puts pressure on it to pull them down.

"O-Once h-he is s-stable i'll get b-back to t-trying t-to get my l-labs equipment r-ready for the p-procedure." He says, getting onto the platform made by Dominic and following Val out the door and heading to the Medbay.

Once there Blake gets off the hardlight platform to head over to the cabinet of medical supplies and starts searching through it for something. 'I-I'll p-prep something to s-stem his power c-causing any more d-damage.... T-to us or h-him." Blake explains to Val, ignoring his own wounds it was only his drunken headache and mental fatigue slowing him down.

Kyerine quirks his head slightly to the side confused. "In one of the room downstairs. There was a bow and this strange electronic things and a really weird pair of glasses." he expressed in a innocent voice that doesn't seem to register the fact it did anything bad. Either that or he was a mastermind liar.

Behind some Nightclub somewhere in Nos Lycarin

A woman in her early twenties is suddenly and literally thrown out of the back doors of the building by a much larger and bulbous eyed alien creature. Her guitar case hitter her on the way out. Meanwhile a young boy with his hands up like he was under arrest walks out of the doors quietly with a large bag thrown over his shoulder and a strange purple feline like creature sitting atop it.

"Next time send the real entertainment." The tall bulbous alien groans out in a deep almost gargled voice before slamming the double doors shut.

The woman despite the door closing shouts back at the alien in absolute frustration. "How dare you throw me out you fat oaf, I am the enterta-" SLAM "...-ment." She finishes her shouting rather defeated as she gets up from the cold and dirty floor.

"What do you expect, nowhere is going to accept you playing like that Sis." The boy states to her in a disrespectful tone.

"And what do you mean by that?" She responds antagonised by the young individual, leaning in towards him.

"Then maybe you should actually get good at this before wasting all our money on auditions." The boy responds turning quickly away from the woman and starting to walk towards the entrance to the alley way. The feline creature on the boys bag almost seeming like it understands the situation and sticks out its small tongue.

The woman was infuriated by the young boys mouthy comment yet instead of responding, she first had to grab her guitar case and jacket from the floor and then chase after him. Knowing she couldn't just leave him alone in a busy and foreign cities streets.

[Deep Space—Aboard the Godsgift]

It was only a few minutes—which meant that either there were people on the Terminal itself, or there were FTL communications at work, which would mean advanced tech—but it felt like an hour. When the response came, a few of Whistler yipped excitedly. Sy stirred in the corner.

"Computer!" Whistler barked. "Transmit this: We're functioning, but we have no FTL capability and we're too far from home to get back, even with coldsleep. We need... well, we need shelter, even temporary shelter. We're only carrying resources for a few weeks, or a few years in coldsleep."

"Message away, Whistler. Arrival at the Terminal estimated in three minutes."

Sy groaned. Whistler glanced in his direction; the human was sitting up, rubbing the back of his head.

"Welcome back to the land of the living," the pack said wryly. "Don't panic, but we're on our way to I-have-no-idea-where and there's a good chance we're never going home again."

The human blinked. "What?"

"As near as I know, the Zone shifted, and Godsgift went berserk and launched. FTL worked just long enough to strand us in deep space. Amazing what we can do with technology these days, isn't it?"

"...What?" The human looked like he was about to be sick.

"On the bright side, there's a mysterious thing that we should reach shortly, and it may or may not save us from starving to death."

Sy closed his eyes and got to his feet. He approached the console and glanced over it briefly. Then he turned his eyes up to the clear view out into the dark.

"You mean that?" he said. Whistler followed his gaze to see a ring-shaped structure illuminated by regularly-placed floodlights on its outer hull. It was impossible to get an idea of its size just by looking at it—space had a curious habit of depriving a viewer of perspective, and depth perception for that matter—but the ship had said that it was about a kilometer across. In which case it was massive—much larger than it needed to be for the Godsgift to fly through it.

As they watched, prongs opposite each other on the edge of the ring began to arc something between themselves, like lightning. At the center of the ring, a nebulous ball of light grew, pulsating and flickering in place. Before long, they were too close to see any part of the ring, but the gateway in the center of it gleamed almost like a liquid.

Every living thing on the ship gulped.

"Arrival in thirty seconds," the Godsgift AI said cheerfully.

Training Room

Greg nears the training room right as Matthew is seemingly pushed out on some kind of stretcher by Val. That being odd enough, he blinks before he peeks inside the room itself, seeing the chaos within. "Uhh...what the hell? I'm guessin' this ain't just a trainin' exercise gone horribly wrong...?"

Rakiri finally picks himself up off the floor, grumbling irritably about psychics and oceans and wood, which confuses Greg greatly.

Burger Queens

"Don't worry, I know you didn't mean anything bad by it. But, yeah...before I joined the Troperia, I was aboard another ship, the Beluga. It...wasn't a nice place. I was a prisoner for the most part." Amos starts, and then remembers the amount of people about, lightly tapping his organic and mechanical fingers together. "Maybe it's best I start talking about this while we're outside, though..."

Bridge

"Worry not, my dear, they are good people. And have been more than welcoming." he says with a slight chuckle. "And, that sounds like a promising start. I pray you find much of value in your excavation." He looks at Nebris. "Oh, honey. You're a bright, sweet, loving young girl. No one has any reason to not like..." he trails off as he sees the message coming in marked urgent. "Oh, dear...I am sorry to do this, but it appears I am needed in the med bay...I will have to call you back later."

Shard Starport, outside the Troperia

Zevai eventually found her way to the Troperia, stopping at the foot of the cargo ramp. The first thing she noticed about the Troperia was its sheer size. It wasn't the largest ship she'd seen, that went to the Izvazerizev, (roughly God of War) which is, in fact, exactly what it sounds like. But the Izvazerizev wasn't designed to land. The largest ship she'd seen land was a colony ship - but they didn't take off again. It was as if she'd moved from somewhere where the world made sense to a place where you could flaunt the laws of physics. Hopefully, at least, Universal Causality was still observed. It would be weird to have effects without causes. Even if the effects proceeded their causes, effects always had causes, as far as the Azshtani knew.

After standing, gawking at the size and sheer wastefulness of the Troperia, she called out, speaking English with a vaguely... German or Eastern European accent, "Hello, is this the Troperia? I've found myself rather suddenly without a starship, and heard you have openings in your crew?" She wasn't sure whether or not stepping on board would be acceptable. In Accorded space, it was bad form to step on another's ship without explicit permission (excepting boarding for customs inspections or in wartime), for reasons that should be blatantly obvious. She had no idea what the cultural mores were like here, but she wasn't going to push anything.

As the group is able to step outside, Michael putting a supportive hand on the younger boy. "Yeah as we are saying though, you didn't say anything wrong, just Amos has had it a little hard." Michael says handing him his food, which he takes the bag of happily. Nodding to the pair. "I see... Well you're okay now right."

Michael smiles though it makes no difference for Russell, 'Yeah our left footed mechanical man is fine." he responds in a teasing tone at Amos, giving a playful wink clearly trying to raise the mood. Not liking either of them thinking or talking about such topics.

When asked who else needs medical attention, he shakes his head, "I'm fine. Funny he was after me and all and I'm the one without a scratch." When Lex puts her hand on his back he doesn't flinch or respond, really. He seems to be in thought.

The City Streets of Nos Lycarin

The woman catches up to the mouthy boy. She was still clearly frustrated as she calls over to him. "Don't run off!"

"Then how about you stop just dragging me around the city and we do something together for once!" He sharply replies, clearly more upset than he was letting on with his previous mean comments.

The woman just shakes her head slightly putting a hand on his shoulder, slowly moving it towards his face. Her hand sliding onto his chin and gently pushing his chin up to make the boy look at her. "Aww come on munchkin, I've just been trying to earn us some money." She says softly at the boy.

The boy immediately proceeds to swat her hand to the side raising a disbelieving look on his face at the woman. "Yeah right, the Seven Deadly Sins is just doing this to get herself famous." He retorts back still disrespectful, not even giving the woman the benefit of the doubt.

The woman proceeds with her hand swatted to the side down to his shoulder to simply apply some pressure and pinch it to get his attention. "Ahk-, Sins stop it!" He cries back despite the fact it wasn't that much pressure being put on it.

"Stop calling me Sins maybe, then I'll stop." The woman responded in a tone that was clear she wouldn't accept no for an answer. Her frustrated look clearly one now just waiting and expecting a certain response.

"Fine! Just let go of me already!" He immediately replied back without any kind of thought being given. The woman immediately releasing it and he pulls his shoulder away, rubbing it with his opposite hand.

"Now come on, lets go get a subway train back to port, I can buy us both some lunch." The woman proposes changing her disposition quickly from annoyed to actually a bit caring quickly smiling at the now somewhat upset and quieter boy. The boy just nods as she wraps a arm around him and they both walk off to the nearest subway station. "Pizza sound good to you?"

"Yeah, yeah it does." The boy responds with significantly less spirit to before though he was oddly enjoying having her arm across his shoulders, and in the end this is kinda what he asked for. The purplish feline almost seemingly shaking its head at what just happened in partial disbelief and disappointment.

Training Room

"Long story short, Matthew was ordered and mind-controlled to capture Kijo, we defended him, and Matthew managed to displace this whole room into an ocean for a little while." Dominic explains briefly to Greg.

"Uh, some help here?" Mitch says, waving weakly while Peter struggles to carry him. Dominic conjures another platform, and Peter puts down -dumps, more accurately- Mitch on it. "Thanks."

"You should get to the med bay as well." Dominic says to Rakiri, then to David and Kijo. They then walk towards the med bay.

Med Bay

"You should get back down. I'd rather not have to take care of two critical patients." Val says to Blake while moving Matthew to the bed. Dominic, Mitch and Peter arrive right afterwards.

"Peter, set up an IV, EKG, some anaesthetic and a unit of synthetic blood. Dom, how's that leg?"

"Just flesh wounds. I can stitch them up as I go along."

Peter does as he's told, looking both rather excited and nervous, while Mitch moves himself to one of the beds. "How is he?" He asks.

"Hold on..." Val replies, putting his hand over Matthew as if it was an ultrasound machine stick. "Damnit, his hepatic artery is about to blow. I'm gonna have to open him up. There's a lot of burnt tissue as well."

"Wait, you're gonna do surgery here?"

"Yeah, and I'm gonna need you to put both your medical training and psionics to use." Val says while taking off Matthew's top, then draping and disinfecting him.

"You sure? Tor's on his way, and I'm not even remotely qualified to-"

"Doctors need nurses, and right now I need you to be one."

"A-alright." The two take turns putting on surgical gowns, gloves, masks and scrubs, then pulls the curtain around the bed. "What do you need me to do?"

"Put your hand on his body. Feel the blood vessels?" Val says to Peter. He puts his hand on Matthew, and Val puts his own over Peter's, sharing his psionic 'sense' of Matthew's insides with him.

"A bit fuzzy, but yeah. Feels like there's a lot of bleeding."

"Right. I'm gonna need you to control the blood flow and stop the smaller vessels from bleeding further while I work on this artery."

"Waitwaitwait. I can't do that. I've never done anything this complex on a person before."

"Actually, you have. Back when we were rescuing Amos. And I'm here this time. Just follow my lead. Close your eyes, and do it one leak at a time."

"Ok..." Peter closes his eyes, breathing deeply and starting to take control of the blood inside Matthew's body.

"Let's begin." Val puts his finger over the uncovered part of Matthew's body, and begins psionically making an incision.

...

"We'll just be... over here... recovering... and in pain." Mitch says from the corner, while Dominic sits up on the bed next to Blake's and starts stitching up both of their wounds with levitating tools. At least, assuming Blake took Val's advice and sat back down.

Bridge

The Troperia - Med Bay

...

"Fine... I'll let myself get treated but i-i'm watching t-this." Blake responds doing to everyone taking a bed nearby to his brothers location that can be keep a eye on the situation. Closing his eyes and trying to focus his own psionics on detecting his bodies condition.

"D-double t-he anesthetic dose, h-his body b-breaks it down r-rapidly. I-It has learnt to counter the stuff." Blake tries to inform everyone as treatment on himself begins. Looking to Mitch and shrugging. "Ssorrry I t-though h-him having a n-non lethal weapon w-would be a good thing." Blake tries to apologies.

Meanwhile on the surgery team... Well as described there is a lot of bleeding including damage to arteries, burn marks, deep cuts and impaled shrapnel as well. His blood glucose was pretty much non-existent, as was most of his Glycogen stores burning through most of his bodies energy reserve in trying to maintain an unstable warp.

What also would likely strike anyone with medical knowledge was how Matt's body was not a regular humans. His blood's red cell count was over thrice what would be expected as well as having companion cells that seem psionically charged. Much of his muscle had a incredibly higher density than unusual and some of it was neither red, pink or white put this other... Almost more purplish muscular tissue. His bone density was also a lot higher, breaking these would be seriously difficult, though he did manage to crack two ribs. One good thing for the team was as the bleeding was slowed in locations it seems his bodies ability to both clog the wounds and build fresh tissue was a lot quicker than normal, sealing it sooner than they expect. Additional nerve fibers run the course of his body along with additional blood vessels. Other organs such as the liver were smaller than would be expected, and the appendix just wasn't there and never had signs of every being there.

Examining the bodies structure and how artificial it seems the genetic engineering was obvious, certainly having all the qualities possibly desired of a super solider, increased speed, endurance, strength, healing. Where you might have expected fat there was very little if none; his body instead having large amounts of muscular tissue or odd growths of unusual non-human tissues which by feeling seem to radiate a passive psionic field as well as seem to contain various glands and blood vessels; to Val's mind perhaps even if his heart stopped this tissue could begin to contract and force blood flow; actually if near any organs stopped except the brain and lungs. Essentially his body having redundancy to protect it from failure, which seemed to be currently active with his body trying to rapidly produce more blood. Even his skin was harder to initially penetrate even with what seemed like natural anti-microbial secretions protecting his body to prevent infection. Still he was mostly human but.... Matt was never and can never just be a normal teenager, and clearly was never meant to be.

The Subway of Nos Lycarin

The two individuals, three if you count the feline go down to the subway. Scanning travel cards across the terminal as they walked. It wasn't particularly busy right now and that all things said was rather nice for the two of them.

As they walked past the boy slowed next to a vending machine, tugging a bit on the woman to get her to stop. "I want to get a drink." The boy stated, his tone still quite submissive like before. The woman just nods in returns and lets him get something.

Pressing the buttons on the machine and scanning his credit stick on the machine a blue fizzy drink dropped out. The boy happily picked it up, repocketing the credit stick and just nodding to the woman as he opened it. The two of them continuing to walk to the platform, still just as quiet and empty. Almost seemingly too quiet but compared to the nightclub it was a relaxing quiet, atleast for the boy and his feline.

Eventually after some time a train showed up on the tracks, filled with only a small number of individuals. The two of them board, the feline following in toe as it sets off towards the spaceport.

Burger Queens

Michael and Russell do follow outside, getting away from the noisy interior back into the street. "Yeah perhaps you should." Michael replies with a joking tone and smile. Russell meanwhile has actually drawn the white cane and extended it for the first time with the pair, as he gestures to start following towards the spaceport.

Clearly not as used to this part of town as he was at the Arcade where he was pretty confident in his stride. The conversation momentarily dying down as the group walks.

More self-plagiarism! Yay!

[Deep Space, Aboard the Godsgift—>Exit Terminal, Approx 10.29 Mm from the Troperia]

The Terminal nearly shook itself to pieces with the force of its own effort to transport the ship, but that was only because Godsgift was malfunctioning again. Of course, the Troperia was (presumably?) at the Top of the Beyond, and something about the physics of the Beyond was driving Godsgift berserk. As soon as it passed through the Terminal from the Slow Zone into the Beyond—somehow—the systems went haywire again.

Sy had wisely strapped himself into a seat in the corner and had his eyes closed. Whistler could swear the human was wearing a faint smile amid the chaos. Smug ass.

Within the Terminal, lightning danced across the cockpit and the entire cabin shook despite the inertial dampening. And the soundproofing was no longer good enough—Whistler could literally barely hear himselves think.

"Shit! Computer, manual controls, now!"

Godsgift's reply was incoherent buzzing—screaming?—but the pilots' consoles flashed and then Whistler had control.

Control, but no real-world experience. He had practiced on Godsgift's simulator, though—surely he could at least avoid a fiery death, even if that wouldn't necessarily make him an ace pilot. He was panicking, but he had some of the tasks down to muscle memory, so at least there was that. And as an added bonus, there wasn't really anything for the ship to crash into, barring the Terminal itself. Wherever this Troperia was, it wasn't in visual range. But the ship was firing thrusters in random directions and rotating at velocities fast enough to tear apart most Slow Zone spacecraft. Crash or no, the ship could simply fall apart if this kept up.

He struggled in vain to exert some control over the ship, but with all the chaos going on outside, he couldn't even tell if it was having any effect. Every meter at his disposal—velocity, acceleration, even atmospheric pressure, despite being in space—was just cycling wildly from minimum to maximum and back again, useless and terrifying. He was almost ready to give up at the controls that didn't seem to be doing anything when—

Gravity no longer applied, but his pilots gripped the fabric of their seats with sharp claws. Of course, the only reason gravity had failed was that the ship had suddenly stopped accelerating, and the artificial gravity apparently hadn't gotten the memo. He scrabbled at the controls while his St thumped around in the cabin; he collectively winced every time she bounced off something, but the insane computer was still softening whatever she hit. So presumably the fucking thing wasn't actually trying to murder him.

He found the manual controls for the artificial gravity and engaged them. Then he took a few long seconds to just breathe.

"...Ship?"

Something buzzed at him. "...ler? I-I-I am here. Please excu-cu-cuse any irregularit-t-t-ties in my speech. I am reboot-oot-oot-ooting from a previously saved state, but at my current rate of progress, it will ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-take approximately point-seven megasec-ec-ec-econds before I am fully operational."

Whistler paused and did the math; about eight days. "I understand. You're not going to try and kill me, are you?" He was half-joking.

"Ah, I apologize. As Rav-v-v-v-vna deduced, several of the alterations to my pro—" The voice stopped for a second, and Whistler thought maybe it had died. "—gramming resulted in catas-s-s-s-strophic malfunctions once higher functioning became prac-ac-actical in the Beyond. I managed to resolve mos-os-os-ost of them myself, but unfortunately I was unable to main-ain-aintain control of the ship while doing so."

Whistler scowled. "Why the hell didn't you prioritize ship control?"

"Because, Whistler, if I had-ad-ad-adn't resolved those malfunctions, I would have tried-ied-ied-ied to kill you."

That was. Um. Sobering. "...I see. Well, in that case, focus on repairing yourself."

"Of course. Should I not mention the ship approximately ten megameters ahead?"

Whistler cocked a few of his heads. "The Troperia?"

"Presu-su-su-su-sumably. We received another transmission while passing through the Ter-Ter-Terminal. Shall I relay it?"

"Yes, yes. Just automatically relay any future messages."

"Understood." The message from the Troperia was repeated.

Sy chuckled in his corner. The fucker didn't have so much as a bruise.

"Well, judging by their message, they don't know about the Terminal, so... Tell them we're about ten thousand kilometers out from their ship and we have no idea how we got this close, but apparently someone built a magical FTL transporter in the middle of nowhere keyed to their ship," Whistler said. "But, uh... phrase it more professionally. And"—He did some quick mental math on the distances involved and the capabilities of the Godsgift—"let them know that it will take us about a half hour to reach their ship."

"Certainly. Relaying message." Despite Whistler's instruction, the message Godsgift relayed was what Whistler had said, verbatim.

The Subway of Nos Lycarin

The Stranger has a bit of a problem: He is in search of a certain individual, but has no idea where he is. And time is ticking. Tradition is something that has to be honored. There is his next ride.

...

The woman and the boy may hear a soft thud from the ceiling as The Stranger lands on the train.
