Yeah, the current really doesn't do a good job at showing the trope. That said, the suggestion just looks like a hunter scaring people away from his tent.
Not enough focus on the hermit.
It's better than the current, but not by much.
Not a good enough improvement to replace.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?6.2 looks like the best of those.
I like 6.1. Would need a crop, of course.
Are there two hermits in 6.2?
I thought the hermit is the hooded guy, while the other one is just a passing traveller. That's a reason I wasn't too keen on that particular option, actually. It has that distracting element.
Yeah, that confused me about 6.2. I like 6.1, but I don't think it would look good in wikisize, and a crop would unfortunately lose a lot of its strength (one small person amidst a big landscape).
You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"6.1 is okay except that it would probably be difficult to see at wiki size, and if you crop it to remove most of the background, not only would the imperfections be amplified but also you risk removing the implication that he's alone in the middle of the woods.
6.1 would be okay if only the focus wasn't on the visitor instead of on the hermit, who truth be told, I completely missed for several seconds until I looked more closely.
6.3 has similar problems as 6.1.
That said, I wouldn't be totally against using either 6.1 or 6.2 if the problems can be overcome.
Absent-minded professor and Neverwinter Nights DMI like 13.1 and 13.2.
Btw, the counter not going up is a bug, right? Has it been reported?

Yes, it's a bug but it wasn't reported yet.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanJust wonder how all these bugs were not picked up during developer and beta testing.
Some was picked up and fixed but during the transition the fix disappeared. Some wasn't fixed. Some wasn't picked up and reported.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanAll three of the options in 13 are good. I think I like 13.1 best.
I think I have a slight preference for 13.1.
(Annoyed grunt)I also like 13.1 best so far.
You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"13.1 works.
Check out my fanfiction!13.1 is pretty good.
Anyone else for 13.1?

Crown Description:
Nominations for replacement images:
The current image is barely adequate, being what appears to be a Tarot card called "The Hermit" which shows just a bearded old man holding a lantern and a stick. It comes perilously close to being JAFAAC in my opinion, since you wouldn't know the old man is a hermit except for the caption which is part of the illustration.
I think that my suggestion from Mary Grant Bruce, A Little Bush Maid is at least slightly better. He's not only old, bearded and dressed very "out-doors-ish" but is also standing in front of a tent and obviously scaring away intruders.
