I watched the pilot.
Oh my god. Five minutes in, I know I'm just going to love the hell out of this. It just hits my taste of humor so damn well, even though I have no idea nor interest in the snacks.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel. How can you have no interest in snacks? O_O
I thought it was fairly entertaining...I'll probably watch it and enjoy it casually but I don't expect it to leave much of a lasting impression.
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.he said "In the snacks"
Japanese snack lines are completely different from western ones, I don't think they can or will bring up western ones due to licensing.
Hell even those that are in both are different. Kit Kats have over 90 flavors of them there and none are in the west but the original.

Japan has Baked potato. Soy sauce. Fruit Parfait, Blueberry White Chocolate, Green Tea, Strawberry and Nuts, Pumpkin, Orange, Banana, Cookies and Milk, Creemy Apple, Kiwi, Vanilla Beans, Cherry Blossom, Lemon, Brandy and Orange (with real Brandy), White Peach, Japanese Chestnuts, Red Bean Paste, Soy Beam Flavor, French Rock Salt, Creamy English Tea, Cinnamon Cookie, Wasabi, and many more.
I have only had the guts to try a few of em from an import store near my house, Cinnamon Cookie and orange ones are quite good.
It's kinda crazy on their crazy flavoring as the first episode showed.

Cherry Blossoms have a flavor?
Banana,Cinnamon Cookie,Red Bean Paste, Strawberry 'n Nuts and Cinnamon Cookies sound very interesting, I have to check them out if I ever go to Düsseldorf.

It has a salty kinda sour taste. It's used and eaten in a lot of things like sakuramochi and Sakura Manjuu which are both sweets, as well as Sakura Tea.
I wasn't too much of a fan of it. I love the smell of it though, I have some bubble bath with the scent lol.
There's something about the main character that appeals to me so much. I think it might be his sad puppy look.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.Visually he reminds me a lot of Araragi from Bakemonogatari◊.
Also, I'm shipping Hotaru, Kokonotsu and Sayo together and no one can stop me
I'm currently mixed on the show but I think it has potential. It's pretty original so I give it credit.
Bananas are the one night stand of fruits.Just trust me on this one.Episode 2:
Evil organizations steal Dagashi.
World of Dagashi is a battlefield. Of Gundams. Complete with a Colony Drop.
Left Hand of God and Devil Sword. Secret techniques passed along generations.
Kokonatsu and Hotaru become adults by doing it raw.
Drunk Hotaru is amazing.
The story of Whistle Ramune was inspirational.
Another great episode. This anime is hilarious.
So the Gundam bit got me, I mean I held it till the Domon candy.
There were scenes from 0079, Zeta, Victory and G in there.
Dagashi Senshi Gundam.
Saya has quite the hidden power. Kokonotsu and Hotaru's reactions to her were priceless. Saya-shi!!
That Colony Drop was from the original, wasn't it?
It's been fun.Episode 2.
I found the bit of Hotarou bringing in the "thief" with such a proud face so amusing.
I just...I just can't have enough of Kokonotsu's "what the hell am I looking at this time?" look.
I really love Hotarou's antics. Unlike so many other character of her type, she actually pays for all the stuff she messes with, a valuable customer.
Also, I really loved the whole "God, what are we gonna do this summer?" exchange that Sayo and Koko have. I dunno, whenever an anime shows a moment of country life like that, it fills my heart with odd sense of joy. For that reason I absolutely love Non Non Biyori.
Oh, and obligatory mention of the Gundam references. I watched the First Gundam so I can actually understand the references. :D
Man, it continues to be amusing.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.by now she might be the store's biggest customer even.
Second episode wasn't quite as funny as the first, but I liked how she and local girl decided to team up.
I like how those two seem to have a pretty good relationship so far. I really don't want them to break into a love triangle and all the emotional baggage that follows it.
Then again, I'm pretty sure Hotarou is pretty much asexual when it comes to anything that doesn't have to do with snacks. XD

Oh please, Everybody Is a Slut/Victim in Doujinshis.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.Hey, in one series I've read, they had a very healthy relationship, and Kokonatsu even ended up proposing... with a candy shaped like a ring, which I thought was a nice touch.
But jokes aside, this is first and foremost a comedic series so don't worry about relationship drama.
Perfectly healthy relationship? In a doujinshi? What is this madness?!
Good, I like the comedy in this series a lot.

If you liked the first two episodes, you should like the rest too.
Sounds sweet. Pun very much intended.

Since this series got an anime adaptation so I decided to make a thread.
This is... a weirdly educational comedy series to say the least, and focusing on such an bizarre subject as Japanese sweets. Still, it's really funny, and the interactions between characters are what makes this show. And of course Hotaru herself who just hilarious.
The first episode was quite good, they changed few things, but they did a good job adapting the manga and I just love little touches like the girl in Kokonotsu manga looking like Hotaru.
