I'll look into it. Bleach is quite abridgable in every possible way.
EDIT: Jesus, this is an oddly hard to find series. Copyright issues?

So. Abridged series have informed me that I think I like Andrew WK. He keeps popping up in them and I keep liking the songs I hear. News to me.
Seriously, Hellsing Abridged and Gundam Abridged both use him for a theme song, and Bleach has a cover of one of his songs (and I like the original way more).
Just something I noticed.

I'm pretty pumped, since MSGA was pretty fun, and Origin is also pretty ripe for abridgening (with some decidedly narm-y moments and a few weird choices here and there), yet at the same time really high quality.
... that said, their joke of a Gundam SEED Abridged would be... actually pretty excellent. SEED would be excellent for abridging.

Here's an abridged series of My Hero Academia, by Something Witty Entertainment, the creators of Sword Art Online Abridged.
Not bad, not bad at all. I like how for an abridged series, SWE works can get genuinely dark and serious.

I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.Man. .... remember when abridged series used to be popular? Like, you got a new series pop up every week or so?? One of my favorite ones were K-On! Abridged, and that one guy who used to hop around tons of anime like Bleach and Code Geass. Now abridged series are still around but there's only like one new one a year, and they're all professionally-produced.

I mean... yay?
Sturgeon's Law exists for a reason and honestly, I'm glad we're past the age of me putting literally any anime series into Youtube and finding an awful abridged series that doesn't have a single voice actress and only ran for two episodes.

"Scooby Dooby Doo!"Something I noticed watching various abridged series:
Good abridged series have a lot of funny moments.
GREAT abridged series have a lot of funny moments AND genuinely awesome moments. Sword Art Online Abridged and Dragon Ball Z Abridged, for instance, have a lot of chillingly badass quotes, perhaps even more than the source material in the case of the former.

I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.Ironically, GREAT abridged series have more elements that professional series have.
Well it's one thing to just meme your way through a series. But putting in the effort to give it pacing and a tone other than just funny takes a lot of work. It requires a degree of rewriting and editing that's more indicative of professional work.
Final Fantasy 7 Machinabridged is another great example. Where the changes to character personalities is funny, but it also takes the time to give those changes more of an objective examination.
"No will to break."So anyone ever start an Abridged series and catch a new episode and not realize for a bit that it's an entirely different series?
I was watching Goblin Slayer Abridged and then I saw a new episode and was thinking "oh, that's weird. Goblin Slayer isn't shown with a silly voice and instead is calm and devoted to poon tang. I guess it's trying to show how he acts when he's not in "SLAYIN' GAAAAWWWWWBLINS" mode?"
I think I got halfway through the episode before I realized "oh snap, this is a completely unrelated series."
I think something similar happened with a Fate Abridged series, but I caught on a lot quicker.
... incidentally, I like the Schmuck Squad version a lot more. It felt more like it was satirizing the sleaze of the show, while the Bridge Brains version felt more like it was relishing in it. One of the rare instances where I found Character Exaggeration to be way more fun than an abridged series fundamentally changing a (flawed) character.

Like, the original property is comedic enough a parody series is unnecessary and the Abridged version genuinely seems to sap comedy from a funny moment.
It's, uh, louder than the original but yeah. Not a good parody.

×2
They also add a lot of references to other anime that feel out of place.
"They truly were a Aqua Teen Hunger Force"
In case no one's seen it, I heartily recommend Bleach (S) Abridged by Blazing Azure Crow.
