Eh I don't mind them.
"Sandwiches are probably easier to fix than the actual problems" -HylarnI didn't see a problem. Then again, I'm face blind.
TV Tropes's No. 1 bread themed lesbian. she/her, fae/faerOh, I don't either. It's oddly charming.
It's just funny that I'm hearing about it happening again in this game.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Another trailer just dropped.
Well this is a conflict.
On one hand that trailer was well-made and got me excited for the game.
On the other hand the gameplay in that trailer looked like it was going to be buggy and messy as all hell. Maybe I'm just paranoid, but I've heard enough horror stories about Day 1 releases after 2010 that I think I'm going to avoid this for the first few months or so and wait for a price drop.
And given I've never played Dontnod's other action title, which nevertheless performed poorly, I'm not sure how confident I feel about this one. We certainly need a fresh vampire game that isn't a buggy, forgettable mess or a first-person shooter, but I just can't trust this developer yet.
Here's hoping it's alright.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!I trust Dontnod to create a well-designed and, for want of a less wanky term, immersive game world, but based on Remember Me's combat, I don't completely trust them to do action well.
Bioware can't do combat either, especially ME 1, but I still loved it.
Oh god it's the Remember Me people? Eww, yeah, that's definitely gone on the "wait and see" pile.
I know Remember Me's story was a Cliché Storm, but clearly they've gotten better about that. Maybe the gameplay will be improved too.
Actually, how was Remember Me's gameplay? I never actually played it.
Remember Me's combat was pretty mediocre. They tried to do something interesting with a customisable combo system, but since you could only create three different combos and presumably to stop things getting over-complicated each one had the same timing or rhythm, so it just became a bit dull. The platforming was pretty generic. It's generally agreed that the memory editing sequences are the best bits, though there are only a handful of them (but I feel if there had been too many that would have worn thin too).
However, dull gameplay aside, the art direction and soundtrack are some of the best I've seen in videogames, and for me that was enough to make the game worth playing. This is why I like Dontnod; they don't make the most highly polished games, but they try really hard, and they try to do something interesting or new with each of their games.
The solution for this is pretty simple, just wait for a few days or weeks for reviews and the like to come out so you can decide whether or not you want to purchase it.
"Sandwiches are probably easier to fix than the actual problems" -HylarnThe game looks promising but I am going to adhere to the above advice and wait a bit to see how it pans out post launch.
Who watches the watchmen? That's probably what I'm going to do as well. Previews have been pretty positive though, praising the fact that your actions in the world really do seem to have lasting consequences.
I would say thats a good practice for any new game. I personally like what I see but if launches bad I'll wait some more.
It's coming out just a few weeks before the Steam summer sale, so it might get a small discount in that. So that's another reason to wait at least a bit.
My PS 4 copy's been dispatched by Amazon.
Hype get?
TV Tropes's No. 1 bread themed lesbian. she/her, fae/faerGeez, this has really creeped up on me. 5 June — that's two days from now. One day for time-travelling New Zealanders! Launch trailer's out, incidentally.
I stumbled upon this bit of gameplay, incidentally, on YouTube since 17 May. I don't think it was posted here, so perhaps some of you'd be interested.
EDIT: Man, that thumbnail looks weird.

If the reviews are good, I'm using my Game Stop credit.
I have a feeling I'm going to end up getting this, which means I'll have chosen it over Dad of War and Detroit: Become Human, both of which I think will be better games, but probably won't be as interesting.
*Dad of Boy
I'm not getting this anytime soon, but I am interested in their take on Vampires.
I am waiting for reviews.
Please be good?
Dontnod seems to have a problem with that. Same issue in their last game.
