A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away...

It is a dark time for the galaxy.

The shadow of the Galactic Empire has loomed over almost every world for fifteen long years. While the sparks of rebellion have begun to flare throughout the oppressed population, they remain candles in a tempest, fragile and in disarray.

However, the Empire's hold is not inescapable, nor is it complete. In the Outer Rim, tenacious and savvy criminal enterprises and determined militias continue to elude the Empire's dominion. This haven of crime and corruption is also the last refuge for those wishing to escape the Empire's control. Whether by accident or purpose, whether by your own actions or guided by a power you do not understand, you have come to the Outer Rim, on the ramshackle space station Praetor. There, adventure awaits as the Force once again sets the wheel of the galaxy into motion, and the Outer Rim starts to burn.

Hello, and welcome to the most misleading title ever. Misleading in the sense that while it takes its name from the Fantasy Flight RPG of the same name, this is a play-by-post RP that...won't actually use the system. Instead we'll be using the storytelling system Fate Core with some modifications, both ones made by myself and ones from the accompanying Fate Systems Toolkit. While it's a good thing to have some knowledge of the game or previous Fate systems, it's by no means mandatory - the first arc of the plot is set up to be an introduction to Fate as a dynamic system.

That said, I've compiled two documents to make the application process easier. The first is a document detailing character creation and Force use, as well as the auxiliary rules we'll be using. The other is a character sheet that you can copy and paste into your own text document and link in your application for ease of reference. Finally, I have a cheat sheet for ease of reference.

Besides the filled-out character sheets, the application must contain your character's name and a rudimentary backstory, as well as your character's starting position aboard Praetor Station. It would also be nice if you told me how much experience you have with Fate systems, whether they be Fate Core or one of the older incarnations.

Do note that for the time being there is no restriction on force-sensitive characters. I will, however, critique and scrutinize them a little more intensively than non-Force users to make sure they fit the setting and period in Star Wars history. It's just the nature of the beast. If you decide amongst yourselves that certain characters know each other beforehand, please make one of your Aspects reflect the relationship.

What did I mean by starting position? Well, instead of having everyone know each other beforehand or having everybody meet in a cantina, there are four starting positions above the Praetor where your characters may be hanging out when the plot kicks in:

1) Docking Bay. You're a new arrival on the Praetor, either here to stock up for the journey ahead or perhaps to do business with the locals.

2) Living Quarters. The station has a section for resting, mostly used for either personnel working directly for the masters of the station, or sometimes rented out for reasonable-ish rates to people who are trying to find passage off-station but don't own their own starship.

3) The Cantina. The wild card option. Maybe you're there to conduct a business arrangement, maybe you're trying to find a drink, maybe you just scammed the sabacc tables and are now trying to get away before someone catches on.

4) The Cells. You're being kept against your will by the station's masters, either for double-crossing them or possibly to be sold to the Empire or some other nebulous organisation. Either way, you're gonna have to find a way out, and do it fast.

Standard rules (that is, Wheaton's Law) apply, as does a very simple rule: What the GM says, goes. That's not to say I won't be approachable if there's a problem, but I am, and will always be, the final arbitrator of rules conflicts and the like. I am a benevolent rules dictator, and my word is law.

That is all. Have fun coming up with characters!

Interested, but it may take awhile for me to set up so don't wait to long for me if I'm slow. I haven't played any Fate but I read the srd for the accelerated version and I know core replaces approaches with skills and I think each character has more aspects.

You say I am loved, when I don’t feel a thing. You say I am strong, when I think I am weak. You say I am held, when I am falling short.

Name: Neríf Himoro

Species: Natolean

High Concept: False (Real) Prophet

Trouble: The Force has a Plan (And I don’t know what it is)

Aspects:

Better to Talk My Way Out: Fighting is messy, bloody, and causes more problems down the way. If it can be resolved peacefully, than it should be.

The Last Jedi “Master:” Sure, he never actually completed his training. That still makes him possibly one of the most experienced Jedi alive. If he can uphold the code (what he knows of it) then, he will.

Knowledge Seeker: For someone who claims to know everything, it’s amusing that Neríf’s desperately looking for knowledge. About the Force, the Jedi, the Sith. What actually happened to the Order. He wants to know everything.

Skills:

  • 4: Force Mastery
  • 3 Decieve, Will
  • 2 Fight, Stealth, Lore
  • 1 Notice, Empathy, Investigate, Contacts

Stunts:

Force Sensitive

Jedi Mind Trick

A Few Lies Between Friends (Custom): They say a friendship can only be built on trust. Whoever they are, they’re dead wrong. What’s a few boasts between friends? Allows him to use Deceit for Rapport.

Force Cold Reading (Custom): The Force allows many things. Including understanding people’s emotions. Lets him substitute Force Mastery for Empathy for noticing lies, or hostile intentions.

Description: A green-skinned male of unidentifiable age, fit, slender and with the air of a fake fortune teller. His head-tendrils are bound up in topknot, some falling loose around his shoulders. He wears a red patterned head-scarf over his forehead and eyes, from which a mess of talismans hang on beaded strands—coins, carved icons, and semi-precious stones. His torso is covered with a dusty brown cloak that falls the mid-calf, leaving the front open, underneath, a brownish-red leather jacket and white shirt. One hand covered in a red fingerless leather glove, while the other’s wrist is covered in bangles and bracelets. He wears tight-fitting black pants, with brown boots buckled to his knees, and carries a silvery-gray walking staff.

Note: Staff is actually a recovered Magna-Guard staff, Weapon 2.

Backstory: The Force works in mysterious ways. Neríf had always had a gift. To see the future. To read people’s hearts and minds. At first, in his village, underwater and isolated from the galaxy at large, people feared the gift. Then they began to crave it. His parents would usher visitors into his dwelling, money would change hands, and Neríf would predict something. Sometimes, it would be because of the visions he saw, the whispers of the Force that flowed through all living creatures, and sometimes, he would be forced to make it up. In either case, the client left satisfied.

Somehow-let’s call it luck, his gift escaped the notice of the Jedi because of the remoteness of his village. Usually, children like him would have been brought to the temple for training. Instead, he remained isolated until his adolescence—after Order 66. The remoteness of his planet, and village, turned into a blessing. A Jedi, escaping the purges came, perhaps drawn by the Force. They were injured, in body and spirit, filled with fear and hatred for the new Empire. Despite that, they decided the train the teen oracle in the Jedi code. For nearly five years, they trained together, Neríf honing his mind, strengthening his body, learning the ancient disciplines of the order. A new generation of a dying order. And a weapon against the Empire and the Sith.

In any case, they were found before his training was anywhere near complete. His village, destroyed, his mentor slain. Neríf was away, his existence concealed by his master’s dying use of power. He returned to ruins, corpses, and a last, hidden gift. His master’s lightsaber, along with the Holocrons they had smuggled out of the temple in the last days of the order.

Now Neríf wanders, a fortune-teller once again, avoiding the empire, the sith. Looking for anyone who calls to him through the force, combing ruins of Jedi outposts, searching for more Jedi. Trying to rebuild a legacy he was barely part of. Rebuild, recover, and eventually, return.

Starting Location: The Cantina. Search for rumors, and tell people's fortunes for money.

Name: Florenico Vi

Species: Zelosian

High Concept: Mulch Medic with Midichlorian

Trouble: A New Hope...that I don't get killed!

Aspects:

  • An Eye for an Eye: Florenico lost his eye when he wandered too close to one of the Empire’s mining shafts and met with the business end of a blaster. Because of this he has a simmering grudge against Stormtroopers, and may single them out in fights.
  • To Better the Worlds: A bit of a bleeding(sapping?) heart, Florenico knows the ways of his people aren’t going to lead to a prosperous future, but isn’t sure what he could do to help. That doesn’t mean he won’t try. On worlds or in situations where people are being harmed or controlled by their rulers, expect some resentment.
  • Fearful Flower: Florenico has the potential to be a Jedi someday! But with this potential comes danger and scrutiny that he’s not sure he’s ready for. This doubt gives his otherwise strong willpower an obvious and usable dent. Could be tagged by his future master as they try to teach him and improved on, or worsened...

Skills:

  • +4 - Crafts
  • +3 - Notice, Will
  • +2 - Force “Mastery”, Empathy, Athletics
  • +1 - Lore, Investigate, Stealth, Fight

Stunts:

  • Force Sensitive: A Force-sensitive gets a bonus to their Notice skill when dealing with matters of fate. They can choose to actively spend a fate point to receive a vision from the GM detailing events to come.
  • Invisible Needle, Invisible Thread (Custom): Florenico can use his Force-sensitive nature to sense injuries in other and likewise heal them using the Force/telekinesis.
  • Always Making Useful Things: You don’t ever have to spend a fate point to declare that you have the proper tools for a particular job using Crafts, even in extreme situations. This source of opposition is just off the table.
  • Telekinesis: A Force-sensitive with this Stunt can move large objects with their mind, substituting their Force Mastery for Physique specifically when moving large objects.

Physical Description: Florenico appears to be a human male around the age of 16. It’s one of the bonuses of being an alien species where the biggest difference between you and humans is that your blood is chlorophyll. His hair is golden blond cut just to his jaw in length, his single remaining eye emerald green. Florenico stands at 5'5" and is lanky like a bean-pole, but with somewhat effeminate features. Beneath his left eye he has a small number of star-shaped tattoos, all a shade of green lighter than his eyes. His right eye...there was an accident. He keeps it covered with a eyepatch, usually adorned with a leather violet. For clothing he prefers loose tops and a leather jacket, slacks that he can run in, and a pack tied around his left leg filled with various tools and medical equipment. Around his neck is a choker with the golden Roman numerals for 2 hanging from it—a symbol for Zelos II, his home world.

Backstory: Zelos II, a part of the Galactic Empire, is on one hand a beautiful thriving planet of humanoid plant-based alien life and greenery. And on the other hand walking corpses, Imperial troops, and a mining facility depleting the world of its natural resources. For Florenico Vi, the beauty of his homeworld did not distract from its dangers. Florencio lived in the capital city of Kryndyn under a mechanic, while studying to be a doctor. He lived on the sidelines of politics and conquest even as the Empire dug their claws into his home planet. It upset him, sure, to know what they were doing, but he was in no state to stop them.

One late afternoon, Florenico made the mistake of being too curious for his own good. An unguarded Stormtrooper’s map to the mining facility was all it took for him to decide to seek it out, despite the dangers of the Bare Forest and the sea. He managed to find only the border of the facility before a guard saw him and shot, assuming he was there to spy. The blast didn’t miss him entirely—it shot through his right eye, leaving it permanently scarred and unusable. Florenico, severely damaged and terrified, fled from the facility as far as he could until night fell.

Zelosians are entirely blind in the dark, even with both eyes intact. In the middle of the Bare Forest and without a way to see, Florenico believed himself to be as good as dead. But something reached him through the dark and through his own fear, and he managed, blindly, to find his way back to the nearest town. He didn’t know that the had Force saved his life.

Once his eye was bandaged up and he returned to the capital, Florenico began to notice he could still feel his way about the same way that he had in the forest. He could move small objects, such as his tools and medical supplies, with only the effort of his mind. This naturally worried him to death. Scared that this new power that he didn’t understand would draw the attention of more Empire forces, he fled from his home with only what he could carry and bartered his service for passage to the Outer Rim.

Which leaves him on the Docking Bay of the Praetor. Good luck, flower-boy!

Name: Vislor Mantiza

Species: Human

High Concept: Not a Jedi, Dammit

Trouble: Overly Noisy Conscience

Aspects:

-Stubbornly Seeking a Middle Path: Vislor's never been able to hew to Jedi code, but he's seen the ravages of the Sith firsthand and could never go down that road. So he seeks a different way, despite all of history telling him to fall into one of the two boxes. His stubborn refusal to accept the standard way of doing things translates to other activities as well.

-Had it Up to Here with Politics: Politics played a large role in Vislor's departure from the Order. His patience for the Empire, the Rebellion, or really anything that smacks of politics is... limited.

-Not So Above it All: Despite trying to remain distant from the problems of those that surround him, and projecting quite the convincing "grumpy old man" front (which is, in fairness, rooted in truth), Vislor ultimately has difficulty keeping his distance when people need help.

Skills:

  • 4: Force Mastery
  • 3: Lore, Will
  • 2: Empathy, Notice, Fight
  • 1: Provoke, Athletics, Physique, Investigate

Stunts:

-Force Sensitive

-Telekinesis

-Jedi Mind Trick

-Not a Jedi Knight, but pretty handy with a Lightsaber

Leftover refresh: 1

Stress and consequences:

Physical stress: OOO

Mental Stress: OOOO

Description: An older human, aged somewhere from 45 to 55, it's not immediately obvious. Dark skinned, with a head that's mostly bald and only occasionally shaved and a long, not particularly well trimmed beard shot with grey. On the short side, but with a lean athletic beard. Dressed in practical, unassuming clothes, but keeps his old Jedi robes around more out of a somewhat uncharacteristic sense of sentimentality.

Backstory: Vislor came to the Jedi Order in the usual way, and that's where things started to go off the rails. Fiercely independent, he could never fully bring himself to accept those tenants of the Jedi Code warning against emotion. Still, he displayed enormous talent, and managed to argue, struggle, and generally fight his way through to graduating to a position as a full-fledged Jedi Knight. Things didn't get any easier there, however, as his firebrand tendencies started to draw more attention from those who'd assumed them to be a mere youthful flight of fancy. And soon enough, that bane off all good men came into the picture- politics. Vislor started to acquire a number of first like-minded fellows, and later followers. Pushback began to be noticeable, and with the stability of the Republic deteriorating in the leadup to what would be known as the Clone Wars, the limitations placed on him by the Council began to chafe. Effectively exiled to the Outer Rim, his disillusionment grew until he finally resigned his position and struck out on his own. He attempted to return when war broke out, but was turned away; with suspicions of the return of the Sith running high, there were... concerns that Vislor's passionate attitude might allow them a way in.

Those paying attention to the timeline will probably realize that this is the only reason he's still alive.

Now, 15 years after the death of the Jedi, Vislor Mantiza is an old man, wandering the Outer Rim, trying to keep his head down and do what good his conscience demands. Imperial Agents generally want him dead, and rebel groups (not to mention those members of the general public who know what a Jedi is) have a variety of unrealistic expectations, so he tries to avoid them both. It's been a long time since he's used his lightsaber or the Force (for anything more intense than scoring free drinks from weak-willed bartenders).

Starting Location: In the living quarters. His previous hidey-hole had been found, and the company had gotten thoroughly on his nerves by burning it down.

Stunts

  • Force Sensitive: Saito's blood is greatly diluted, but he is still strong in the Force. (+1 Notice).
  • Dark Side Adherent: Shaito follows the philosophy of the Old Sith. He believes in passion, in love, and in never giving up. He holds to the Sith Code “Peace is a lie, there is only passion.” (Can Attack With the Force)
  • Warblade Wilder: Shaito wields an ancient Sith Warblade, passed down through his family from the beginning of their history. It functions as Lightsaber but lacks a Lightsabers ability to cut through anything. It can still deflect laser blasts and counter the strikes of lightsabers,.
  • Force Telepathy: Shaito can use the power of the Force to communicate telepathically with allies or delve into the minds of friends. In order to communicate with an ally they must be in Saito's line of sight, or he must have known them for at least one adventure. In order to delv the mind of an enemy Satio must have then in line of sight and beat their Willpower roll with a Force Mastery one. If Shaito succeeds he can read the enemy’s thoughts and sense their nature in an absolute way (telling if they are Light or Dark, kind or evil).

Physical Description: Native to the hot deserts of Korriban, what skin of Shaito is visible is copper and dusty, contrasting with his shock of fire red hair and blood-red eyes. He is of middling height and slim. Underneath his heavy brown layer of clothing is a muscled physique, begotten from years of training with a Sith Warblade. Said Warblade is always strapped to his back, black and red steel ready to be drawn at a moment's notice.

Shaito constantly wears a heavy brown-cloth hooded shawl, that wraps around him tightly. Underneath it is a brown shirt and pants, all designed for desert-life.

Backstory: Shaito comes for an ancient tribe, native to Korriban's sands. It is made up of the descendants of either the survivors of the original destruction of Korriban, the failures from the Sith Academy, or exiles from the various Empires and Orders. The Saarai Sith, as they are known amongst themselves, state to follow the teachings of the original Sith culture: that of the red-skinned species that were conquered, raped, and destroyed by the Dark Jedi so long ago. They are ruthless in their determination to survive, but also passionate, drive, and full of heart. Nomads by necessity, the Saarai Sith have taken up residence in the Temple of Janderleth, at the center of Attica. Once a holy city, it's a ruin. But a ruin with access to water, and a ancient history. It is their safe haven as they recover from a disease outbreak that nearly destroyed them, and left then with barely three hundred people left.

Shaito was born near the tail end of the outbreak, and shouldn't have survived. A newborn, the disease should have taken him within a day. But it didn't, and not the day after that, or that, till he had managed to cling to life for a whole month, then two. His other, Farria, joked that he was born with the Sith spirit: an unbreakable will to live.

From childhood he trained with a Warblade, learning the ways of the Dark Side of the force from those around him. He learned to never yield: they die in a blaze of glory rather than spend a single second in chains. He learned to wield the Force: to use his fear, anger, love, hope, as weapons, as sources of strength. But more than anything he learned to live, completely and absolutely. To seek his happiness, his strength, at every turn. To never let life pass him by.

So, when treasure hunters attacked the temple, he fought back. He they stole an ancient holocron, he went after it. Home will always be Korriban and Attica, but for now he takes pursuit of the holocron as an adventure: his chance to traverse the galaxy, and maybe to influence its destiny.

That attitude may have gotten him into trouble, which is why he finds himself in The Cells, trying to figure out a way to escape.

Backstory:Elithea was born night ten years before the begin of the Clone Wars in what was already beginning to be Separatist heartland. As such, with the Jedi already being diverted from those areas by the local governments, she was not picked up to be taken in by the Order as a baby. Instead she grew up as any normal girl...until the Clone Wars, that is.

Deciding that he needed his own “Jedi” to fight the horde’s of Knights, Count Dooku scoured separatist holding for force sensitives of any kind. As a result, Elitha was taken, forcibly, from her parents and brought into the Sith Apprentice’s own dark twisted reflection of Jedi Training. Focused primarily on how to engage and defeat jedi, Elithea was put through a harsh and demanding training routine, teaching her the lightsaber and just what she needed to eventually become a faithful little darksider jedi hunter.

That is. Until Anakin Skywalker cut off the head of the entire program. (Literally). As Dooku died, and the separatists collapsed shortly after, Elitha managed to escape with other apprentices. Fourteen years old, at first she considered turning herself in to the Jedi...until she heard about Order 66. Her training having given her some skill on how to survive, she took on a job to ferry a confidential message from a local crime lord into the outer rim. Her force skills allowing her to evade customs easily, she quickly realized that this was a good way to make the money she would need to continue, as well as the distance from the new empire she considered smart.

And so Elithea lives in the outer rim, ferrying messages of ill repute around and trying so very hard to stay unnoticed.

What can go wrong?

Eli would start at the Docking Area, landing her Courier/Fighter for some re-fueling and maybe looking for work.

Alright I made a sheet, and by my reckoning it's the only non-Forcey so far. Also as for where to start, I was wondering if anybody wanted to have a prior work relationship with my character? 3of4 in particular, my guy could be the person waiting for a message from Eli. If that doesn't work, I could see my guy being hired to bust Shaito out by slicing him out of the cells, if you're interested Lmage.

  • Name: RN-56 "Aren"
  • Species: Droid.
  • High Concept: Chrome-Plated Kingpin
  • Trouble: Don't Look Behind the Curtain
  • Aspects:
    • Do Androids Feel Electric Greed?: He's usually not one for random acts of charity, and always schemes to make money on a deal. At least as far as organics are concerned.
    • Who Looks Twice at a Protocol Droid?: Though to most of the galaxy he is 'just' a droid, RN dreams of a future where the organic beings of the universe will acknowledge the equality - or even superiority - of droidkind. One day, he hopes, he will have enough resources to purchase a large amount of land, even an entire planet, and establish a safe place for all droids.
    • What is a Man?: Despite himself, RN sometimes wonders if it's all even worth it. After all, his cold metal brain has no room for love, he can't personally feel the embrace of the 'Force', and all sorts of other things that the organics discuss constantly - with all that, can he even call himself alive?

    • Savvy Investor: You get an additional free invoke when you create advantages with Resources, provided that they describe a monetary return on an investment you made in a previous session. (In other words, you can’t retroactively declare that you did it, but if it happened in the course of play, you get higher returns.)
    • Trust Fund Baby: Twice per session, you may take a boost representing a windfall or influx of cash.

  • Description: Somewhat similar to an RA-7 droid in appearance, but with a somewhat dulled chrome paintjob. His metal body is Armor 1 and melee Weapon 1, and he has a hidden holdout blaster in a special concealed chest cavity to use as a ranged Weapon 1. He also has smuggling compartments in various parts of his body meant to get illegal goods past checkpoints.
  • Backstory: RN-56 was once a simple protocol and security droid for the small-time Coruscanti gangster Starsha Jewel. Shortly after the formation of the Empire, while he was picking up a delivery, a team of Stormtroopers wiped out the entire gang as part of a crackdown on non-conformists who challenged Imperial rule on the capital world. This left RN-56 as the only soul in the galaxy that knew the late Starsha's secret bank accounts, depots, and contacts network. With no reason to Empire, especially not their laws that treated all droids as property instead of individuals, he used some of his newfound fortune to make his way to the Outer Rim. Unfortunately, instead of a tale of daring escapes and firefights, he merely withdrew funds from various accounts and purchased transport aboard a superfreighter. After all, who looks twice at a protocol droid?
Due to his prior employment, he knew he had a knack for smuggling things into places they shouldn't be. It was only a matter of capitalizing on that. In the dozen years since then, he's made his way through the edge of the galaxy by buying, selling, and organizing the transfer of information, weapons, spice, and other less-than-legal goods and services. Usually he organizes these things via the holonet, or by playing the part of a protocol droid working for a third party, and rarely as himself.

@ almost everyone with the exception of [up], my nitpicks are relatively minor.

King, you might want to come up with a handwavey reason why a somewhat well trained Jedi Knight is on the level of people who either never finished their training or are just now coming into their power. Could just be him getting old and his skills beginning to atrophy.

As for [up], I'm sorry, but for one there's too little to go on. No history, no explanation for his abilities, and what's with the Sith Lightning? It's the Star Wars equivalent of the Dangerous Forbidden Technique, how did a scientist who antagonised both sides of a galactic conflict gain access to it, especially without being a card-carrying member of the Dark Side.

That, and I'm playing the Force and its effects on the galaxy a lot more mystical. I don't think the concept would fit.

Also, as a general rule with Aspects: Remember to try and make them both help and hinder. To both bring you into conflict, but also get out of it. The more they can be compelled, the more fate points.

Count me interested. The Force Awakens has me more into Star Wars than I've been since I was 5 years old.

Just pretend I wrote something witty here, okay?

Hrr, interest. If I'll manage to figure the rule system out, that is.

The rules system is relatively easy to understand once you wrap your head around how 'loose' it is, mathematically speaking.

For those who are still new to Fate Core, I've created another how-to sheet for playing the game. This is still broad strokes, and there are a lot of details that still aren't covered, but those are best explained during play anyway.

Aw, nman got to the first non-Force-sensitive before I did. Eh, droids can't ever use it so it doesn't count. tongue

Also, I would like to note that given our GM, the “no-math” claim on the character creation thing is a filthy, filthy lie.

Name: Dellig Jas

Species: Rodian

High Concept: Cocky Pilot

Trouble: Sucker For A Challenge

Aspects:

  • Don't Trust the Force: Dellig's aware that some people can move stuff with their minds and so on, but considers all the more mystical, wisdomy stuff a sham. As far as she's concerned, anyone who claims special knowledge because they're tapping into some field that connects all life is deluded at best and a con artist at worst. This attitude surely won't cause any problems with anyone she meets on the station.
  • I Gave My Word: Dellig's promises are an unbreakable bond, and she insists that anyone she's dealing with hold theirs to the same standard.
  • Proud Rodian Culture: The Rodians are an ancient and noble people with a majestic and beautiful culture, not a species of bounty hunters and thugs. Dellig will be happy to explain this at great length and if necessary at great volume. She's a particular aficionado of Rodian drama.

Skills:

  • +4 - Pilot
  • +3 – Notice, Provoke
  • +2 – Deceive, Fight, Rapport
  • +1 – Athletics, Physique, Shoot, Will

Stunts:

  • Danger Sense: Dellig has an almost preternatural capacity for detecting danger. Her Notice skill works unimpeded by conditions like total concealment, darkness, or other sensory impairments in situations where someone or something intends to harm her.
  • Body Language Reader: Dellig can use Notice in place of Empathy to learn the aspects of a target through observation.
  • The Engines Can Take It: Dellig can coax more speed out of a vehicle than seems possible. Whenever she's engaged in any contest where speed is the primary factor (such as a chase or race of some kind) and she ties with her Pilot roll, it’s considered a success.

Leftover refresh: 2

Description: A female with skin a rather bluer shade of green than your typical Rodian, and hair shaved off so she doesn't have to deal with it. Her wiry build is usually concealed under the bulk of a flight suit, because why wear something that's not good for high-velocity flight? Between the shaved head and the suit, she's been mistaken for a male on occasion. Silly aliens.

Backstory: Dellig's story starts not with her, but with her uncle, the pride of the family for being identified as Force-sensitive and initiated into the Jedi Order. Then he died ignominiously in the mud of some hellhole planet in the early days of the Clone Wars, the Force not enough to save him. This made his family easy prey for a con man who claimed to be in contact with his ghost through the Force.

As a result, Dellig reached adulthood with the family finances in a state that could be charitably described as “shaky.” She'd had big dreams of becoming an actor and touring the galaxy, but instead got a more stable job hauling cargo. Fortunately, her talent in the cockpit became apparent even there as she kept bringing in the goods faster than expected, which paved the way to a more exciting and lucrative career.

Over the years since, she's ended up touring the galaxy anyway, piloting what seems like everything that flies and a few things that don't, always making sure to send what money she could afford back home. Alas, “exciting and lucrative” does not necessarily go along with “legal,” and after one no-questions-asked job went bad and stayed there for a while, she decided the Outer Rim sounded like a nice place to vacation until the heat died down.

Location: The cantina, trolling for a job or at least a game of sabbac.

[up][up] You could argue that the Droid isn't using the Force; rather, the alien piloting it does.

Argue? Seems pretty clear-cut to me. No droids using the Force here, just cyborg aliens.

Also, now that I finally had time to read that latest document, it made me realize I had picked a stunt that didn't really mesh with my dude, so I replaced Security Measures with Face in the Crowd.

Also also looking around the SRD more, was it intentional for this game to have 1 less stunt per player than standard, or a typo?
