CoLC crossover RP, main thread

Cole took a second to get his bearings, looking around for a second, seeming as though he were critically eyeing their surroundings...

Before most people started wanting to know why he was there. Sans in particular looked rather...Cole wasn't sure how to describe that facial expression seeing as he was used to the ones from people with skin, but he was going to go with "frustrated".

"I would have stayed in the library if the day in the City weren't what it was," he said, shaking his head and looking around again. "The City is the same size it was, but almost all the tall people are tiny now. Arcade there was small enough for me to carry him riding inside my hat. I'm still this size, so I could travel faster than most everyone else, and he needed to get back to the hospital with supplies."

He finally looked back at Sans. "Why I'm here...I've done this before. I've walked inside another person's mind before, more than once, in fact...helped them to fight against demons...more literal demons than the ones Silanea has, perhaps. But I am not inexperienced in places such as this, situations such as this. I suspect for most of you this is...your first time doing it."

Cole shook his head a little, holding up his hands. "I know that in this body, this form, I can't do much to fight. But in situations like this, fighting is not always what you need. And Arcade and I met Morty outside and he seemed...as normal as Morty ever seems...so I know if anything happens to me inside here, I will be all right outside in the city. I am not afraid of that and you shouldn't be either. But I have experience and I have more insight into being inside other people's minds than any of you."

He offered a slight shrug, looking around again. "But if you don't want me here, then send me back outside. Most of you are the size of dolls out there, so I can at least guard your bodies against anything that could come to threaten."

"Whatever" Eve didn't want to talk about her past and even pointed out that Rex had blown his opportunity to find out about it a couple of days ago. This was getting tiring.

Arcade's presence meant the little girl and him hugged each other so the conversation about her past could wait. Bringing up Arcade's lack of abilities seemed like a dick move for now and in his case it wasn't as glaringly obvious as it was with Cole.

Who, speaking of, quickly explained that people back in the real world were different sizes. That couldn't possibly be a literal thing but he did mention carrying Arcade on his hat. Regardless, the important part was that he was here and trying to argue that his experience was as an asset to the team. And he was apparently cool with dying in battle... or getting killed so he could look after everyone's bodies.

"If I wanted someone with experience I would have called Chise. But guess what? She can't deal with these monsters. And you either, because you are literally a baby!"

Exiting Library

The Riddler acted quickly. He was very quick and agile for a man of his age and he practically glided and skipped along the city streets lickety split. However, his speed was hampered somewhat by him pulling out a sealed vial and swallowing it whole. Wincing at the experience and what was to come, the Riddler kept running, hoping to find shelter of some kind. An alcove, an alley, a building - anything that might give him cover. As he was looking, he whipped out his pistol and fired blindly once or twice at his pursuers.

While Yuna was in fact rather hungry, she had enough self-control to not eat the entire plate of waffles. While she did not quite know what they actually were, there were things leading her to believe that it was not precisely the best dinner material. Also, it was still a bit too early for dinner, and she had to save some room for then. After all, ensuring one slept well and ate well was one of the Hero Club's Five Tenets! And a very important one at that! In fact, all five of them were important!

Either way, with her not-quite-dinner out of the way (mostly), she was free to focus back on the conversation the others were having.

"Whash dish aboub groubsh?" she asked with her mouth still almost full of food, which she proceeded to swallow in small bursts. "But yeah! It'd be great to have all of you tag along! The more helping hands we have, the more we can do for others, right?"

Eve|Mindscape|Fucking Finally

"...gerk," Eve said as Arcade hugged her, taken somewhat by surprise, before she settled into the hug and began to hug him back. "...what are you doing here?"

"I would've followed you in immediately if I wasn't worried jumping into someone's mind might make things worse," Arcade responded, "but when Morty explained that it's simply fighting in here, I decided to try and help you. Besides, I'm about six inches tall outside, at least I can actually be of use in here."

He looked over to where Cole was arguing that he should stay. It seemed like a better idea to let Sans handle it. Arcade certainly had no idea how to talk to Cole. Or any child for that matter, other than Eve.

"Fighting and crying," corrected Rick.

Library

After Yuna set aside her waffles, Caboose decided to try some for himself. While his expression was hidden, it was somehow obvious how bewildered he was that shoving it into his visor wasn't working.

After a few seconds of trying to force the waffle through the barrier that he forgot the existence of, Caboose decided a wizard did it and put down the waffle. He silently hoped the wizard would forgive him and then said to Yuna "Then we can work together! My friends never let me help them and I want a chance to try!"

"Not fighting like you are used to" Tester then mentioned to Arcade, and possibly towards Cole as well. "This mental traversing challenge is a collaboration set up between Sekreh Tairee's boss and my own boss. Fighting is handled in turns with dice rolls to determine outcomes. Currently, your body will be automatically taken over to enact the turns, but if you would like, you may opt out of that and act out your turns yourself, as Eve has chosen to. However, you must still abide by the rules and the dice rolls" the AI then explained.

"Your current goal is to get down to the root of Silanea's guilt, and resolve and then defeat her Guilts. The others here have already defeated her Resentment and Distrust in order to free her Friendship and Trust" Tester continued on, then finally paused for a moment, a few screens still coming off and on. "There is more, but that is the basic information" the AI then added simply.

Thomas had already flown off on his broom again, but Louie turned to the others, particularly Astolfo. "So uh, you still wanted to go to the hospital and meet Ben, right? Well, come on then" Louie said, and started to head for one of the other revolving doors.

Riddler managed to avoid being hit, barely, though his own shots didn't hit any of the three militia members either. Being tiny meant that the typical, close spaces one might think of as cover were instead like large open fields next to massive blocks of buildings; it was like a firefight at an open airfield with massive hangars on either side. But, places that would formerly be less conventional or downright impossible were opened up as a possibility at this size; as such Riddler found his escape into an empty and relatively massive suburban house turned toy box like structure, via a rat hole into a space between the walls. From there he could get into the house proper, and it didn't seem like the militia had managed to follow him in, either through that path or the door. There was an open window, but it didn't seem like any of the three men chasing after him could fly.

"I'm hearing something going on on the militia channel now" Little Spiderbee's voice came back on from the various building radios and such; in the background, one could vaguely hear her other microphone / walkie talkie set to the militia channel. "They are looking for a man wearing green with question mark motifs, and he is apparently armed, dangerous, and very clever... Or maybe not. But in any case, anyone who sees him should be wary. They say he is aiming to-" the fairy's voice paused for a second as she gasped, before going on, "he wants to free the imprisoned members of Ruckus to start his own criminal gang!"

"May I speak for a moment?" Wells' voice suddenly cut into the channel.

"Oh, mister Wells! Um, I suppose so" Little Spiderbee's voice responded.

Wells cleared his throat, then spoke at length, "mister Edward, or 'Riddler' I guess you prefer to go by; if you're hearing this broadcast, I am lieutenant Wells, leader of the militia. I want to make something perfectly clear: I'm not this 'Batman' fellow you're apparently used to fighting. I'm not some caped superhero; I'm a soldier, fighting to keep this city safe from the chaos it's constantly exposed to. If you oppose me we're not going to have some wacky comic book hijinks; it will be war. No punch outs, no bat-themed gadgets, just putting you down quickly, and with as much firepower as necessary. You probably don't think much of me, but I can assure you I will be your worst nightmare. If you're really as smart as you seem to think you are, then you will turn yourself in, and contribute your intelligence towards helping the rest of us. We're all trapped here equally, Edward, and taking over like some kind of dictator won't help you in the end."

Sans just listened as Cole began quite clearly explaining his reasoning which also included mentioning what the current day was. So big people become small huh? That wasn't gonna be a problem for him at least. It did at least justify why he left the librarian but even then.

"we already fought against the enemies we can weaken, next up is gonna be just things that won't listen so you won't be able to do anything at all here, with or without experience. besides, the chance of you being taken out in one hit before you can even do anything is pretty high anyway." said Sans, then rolling his eyes slightly, "but you already got in here so i guess all we can do is see what comes out of this."

"Huh, a book?" Reigen looked at the library behind him, as if that would answer some question he seemed to have. "Well, can't say I've heard about you before. Though how could you have a book here? Isn't this some kind of mystical kidnapping town? Unless you've been here a long time, I doubt there'd be a book written about you..."

It was then that Makoto was heading out, with her giant 'Persona' turning into a motorcycle which Reigen had to admit was super cool. "Hey, actually, can I ask where you're heading? N-Not to be a creep or anything," he stammered, hands held up in a gesture of peace. "Just, you know, what with being super tiny and everything, I don't really feel like having to walk everywhere I go. It'll take hours just to get anywhere on foot.."

"As long as we're working together" Curly said as she let Lewis go and Tester clarified anout Sans' world followed by some new arrivsls

"Rick, is that scientist a friend of yours?"

"But...you don't..."

Before I could finish what I was saying, Arcade and Cole showed up for some reason. Cole, of course, being a literal toddler.

No one was happy about this. Except Eve but it was pretty obvious she had a problem.

I mean, I guess the actual mind reader probably had some idea what he was doing. That said, given the setup I had my doubts that what he knew would necessarily be relevant...but it's not like he could do any worse than I already had, right?

"...Not like I can argue."

Huh. It was a size day outside. Kinda funny with the tiny Curly and...whoever Trust was.

"Chise...? Hey...Trust...who are you supposed to be? I recognize everyone else but not you."

I kept clinging to Curly despite her attempt to pull away. She didn't know who Arcade was, apparently. "You don't...? That's Arcade. He let me have his point during the competition."

Rick squinted at Arcade with bleary eyes, struggling to keep his balance as he hauled himself off Lewis and steadied himself against a nearby rock.

"I *uuuuurp* I dunno. A-are you? Seriously, I - I- have no idea."

Outside Library

Makoto looked a little suspicious of Reigen, but stayed put anyway. Did he just want to hitch a ride? His point about walking being a chore today was true, but she'd never actually let someone use Anat along with her before. Would that even be okay?

"I...don't really know. I just got here yesterday, to be honest," she admitted, rubbing the back of her neck. "I know there's a hospital and a buffet somewhere else, but that's it." She didn't want to admit that she just wanted to leave and blow off steam over not catching the Riddler, that'd make her look childish. "Did you want to go anywhere in particular? I could try and drop you off there..."

Cole took the questions and mutterings of the others around him with a somewhat disinterested expression on his face, which might seem rather comical from a toddler. Then he let out what seemed like a low sigh, shaking his head.

"Look, I'm here to help Silanea. That's what the rest of you are here to do too, right? I'm telling you now that we met Morty outside, and even though he didn't sound as though he had much fun in here, he's intact, and he's well. If something happens to me, so be it. We're here for a purpose, so if we're done discussing things that aren't how we're going to help Silanea, can we be on our way now?"

"I gathered as much from the rulebook," Arcade said to Tester, slightly deadpan. As he lifted his arm, he noticed the can that was attached to his wrist. Pulling away from Eve, he opened it up and read the paper inside.

Then he showed it to Eve and asked, "would you mind translating this? Is any of this actually useful?" He guessed it was fine, but he didn't have much to compare any of the numbers to, so it was kind of a crapshoot trying to interpret it.

As he was trying to figure out the paper, the others started talking about him, which made him shuffle somewhat awkwardly. "Just because we're both scientists doesn't mean we're friends," he said to Curly, sounding somewhat baffled.

Eve|Mindscape|Eve Is The One With A Problem? Really, Lewis?

Eve leant into the hug, and sagged a little. She couldn't exactly argue with that logic, even if she wasn't happy with him being here. Or Cole being here. Especially Cole being here. Apparently it was a size day outside, which hopefully wouldn't affect her. But it did mean she would have to help ferry people around.

Not a big thing.

Cole, as annoyed as she was that he was here, made some good points. They were here to help Silenea, not chatter and bicker. She nodded to him, before being distracted by Arcade's request for help. She memorised his sheet and shrugged. "... to be honest, I've been improvising." One good thing from this was that they now had a healer, better than Silenea's Dreams.

Ben sighed angrily, and looked at the phone for a moment after hearing the click of Garrett hanging up, before hanging up himself and putting the phone back into his bag. He heard the sound of slumping, however, and looked as both Arcade and Cole seemed to be laying unconscious. Ben blinked, before his eyes widened as the pieces were put together.

"No!!" Ben exclaimed, pulling Cole's body around and shaking it slightly. He glared down at the two, wincing a bit, before laying Cole down gently. His brow furrowed and he stepped over to Silanea.

He hesitated.

"No. I can't. As much as I want to," Ben muttered, clenching his fists. "I really wanna go in here and rescue Arcade and Cole, and Eve, and Silanea, and everyone else from this danger. But I'm needed out here. And I'm big today so I've gotta be helpful in the real world," he continued, sounding rather pained; almost like he was trying to convince himself of what he was saying.

Morty sat on the hospital bed and stared at nothing in particular.

For the next few minutes, he continued to stare at nothing in particular. He turned his attention to a particularly musty-looking corner of wall and slapped his knees vaguely.

"So." he said after a few more seconds of silence. "Hey, uh, how 'bout that weather, huh."

"I'm Connor, from the Fanboys" Trust answered Lewis simply.

"You are relatively fragile due to low defensive values, and your ranged attack is sub par. Your melee attack has potential for very high damage due to your knowledge of body vitals, but the use of it is somewhat risky, as being next to an enemy combatant is not an ideal place for you. Your most valuable asset to the team is probably, as Eve said, your stronger healing ability" Tester mentioned towards Arcade as he talked with Eve.

Dave looked over at Ben and the way he reacted, and seemed to think for a bit. Then, he looked over at Morty. "Hey, shrunk kid; why don't you tell us more about what's going on in there? Didn't you say you got booted out when you got killed?" Dave asked of Morty. "So if the rest of them are still in there, that means they haven't died in there yet. Probably. So don't worry about it, they've probably got it handled" the doctor reasoned.

Astolfo I Library I Oh yeah, the City Knights

"Awww. Wellll. it is your collection, after all. Oh well~" Astolfo replied to the warrior who proudly show her myriad of swords in-between her fingers, earning a small 'Ohhh' from him.

And then, somebody reminded him of the City Knights.

"Oh, whoops, forgot about that. Yeah, I'm coming!" Answering back to the pokemon trainer, the paladin turned towards the others in his group. "Yeah, sorry about that. Looks like I still have an appointment with the City Knight to make and all. Don't worry though, I'm sure that we'll cross paths again soon!"

Having said that, Astolfo quickly rode on his hippogriff and followed after Louise towards the hospital. Wherever that may be.

At the mention of a buffet, Reigen's stomach rumbled.

"Aheheh, that probably answers your question," Reigen nervously said. "I haven't eaten since yesterday, so uh, the buffet sounds nice. If you want to, that is, I won't force you to give me a lift or something!"

Outside Library

That wasn't a terrible suggestion for places to go Makoto hadn't eaten today either, and it was only a chunk of candy after fighting that giant monster. The buffet might have real food now that it was a new day.

"You aren't forcing me to do anything, trust me." She shifted forward a little more on the motorcycle, making extra room to sit. "I'm sure I can find the buffet again for you. Just... try not to fall off the back when we're moving. It's not quite designed for two people." A helmet would have been nice to have right about now.

Cole wasn't listening to any arguments and was completely okay with dying helping Silanea. Not even learning that the next enemies wouldn't be the kind of people you could reason with. Rex wasn't going to keep arguing, if Cole wanted to be dead weight he could go right ahead.

"Knock yourself out, man. You never listen anyway"

Arcade confirmed that Cole wasn't just ranting about metaphors but he was actually only six inches tall back in the real world. That was bad but they would have to deal with that later.

The doctor wasn't too sure how the game worked and didn't have a way to reference his numbers. Tester quickly fixed that, explaining that, shock of all shocks, his abilities were subpar when compared to actual fighters.

"Yeah, no offense but you are just a normal guy. Everyone here—except Rick—has powers. But at least you can heal people, unlike someone else" that statement was clearly directed at Cole as Rex shot a glance at him.
