Even my dad who's a mostly classic rock fan appreciated the music when I showed it to him.

Okay so I'm starting to make animatics. The struggle of wanting to ~subtly~ incorporate The Bullet (if you haven't heard of her look here because she is my Fav Symbolism Ever) everywhere but not wanting to draw faces on the entire ensemble (which i'd basically have to do for it to be ~subtle~) is real.

Give them haircuts.

Ok so I didn't realize at the time but I had this elective class at university called Political parties in US history. We started with Washington's farewell address and went on to the federal papers biz, where the prof mentioned the duel and even showed us the clip of Lin-Manuel playing the first song in its early version in the White House. This was... waaaay back like 2013.

Cut to 2017-2018 and I read a lot about this musical and decided to give a listen cos I was like "Oh yeah I remember hearing about this guy, didn't he like have a duel or something?" Slowly but surely I became pure Hamilton trash (even reading the Chernow book...) and I really love a lot of the songs.

One thing... "tomorrow there'll be more of us" will forever remind me of "but tomorrow... never came..." (Les Mis, Empty chairs, empty tables).

Suddenly a movie version?

Apparently, Disney will be releasing a movie version of Hamilton with the original cast and filmed "onstage at The Richard Rodgers Theatre." (Not sure what this means, maybe they're filming it on a stage instead of using sets and locations like a normal movie?)

And we have to wait for it (see what I did there?) until October 15, 2021.

This is a performance that was filmed in 2016, shortly before the original cast left. There was a five year embargo on it, which is why we won't see it until 2021.

Disney has been insanely jealous of Wicked and angry that they don't own the rights. I'm not surprised at all that they snapped up Hamilton.

Regardless of the politicking behind getting the movie version, I am glad we will get one, and with the original cast too.

Lin-Manuel Miranda has released a song that was cut from ''Hamilton'' to cheer people us during this COVID virus lockdown

It's Hamilton talking to Washington about "a friend" who's private scandal is affecting his government job. It would have come before The Reynolds Pamphlet before it was eventually replaced by Hurricane.

As a college student who just one week ago directed a scene from the Scottish Play through a zoom call for a class, this is super relevant to my interests. =P

So I just watched the whole thing on Youtube and I must say, I've been missing out a lot the past few years. I'm glad I became a fan pretty close to when they release the official video version.

Disney has made a deal to release Hamilton on July 3, 2020 on Disney+ rather than a theatrical release in 2021.

I may get Disney+ just for that.
