Sorry about the double-post, but this is entirely unrelated to my previous post, so I'm going to say it separately.
We've set up a Skype chat for the game, both to hang out and socialize in as well as provide more immediate interaction between players than this discussion chat. Obviously it's not a requirement to join, and anything truly important or game-wide should be talked about here, but I wanted to give everyone a head's up about it. If you have a Skype chat that you don't mind having used for game-related purposes and want to join us, shoot me a pm with that information and I'll add you to the chat (or, if you're joining after I post this and I already have your info on Skype, I'll probably just add you directly, but if I don't just shoot me a Skype message).
This concludes this Public Service Announcement.
Oh, and Syme, would you mind making mention of this in the OP of this chat? It'll make it easier for people to find when joining.
BTW, have we now got a general tone of the RP yet?
Also is anyone in the base right now?

"One may feel fear in the face of danger so long as one banishes fear when danger actually arrives"Not really. That's something that still needs to be discussed. I tossed out a few random things in the Skype chat last night as ideas, but I think let's get settled in-thread and while doing so talk about things to do out of thread.
I should add that Spottys tree is a few hours away from the others.
Mmm. Alright. I'm probably going to be moving in-game eventually, but that'll be a while.
Alright I'm here
"One may feel fear in the face of danger so long as one banishes fear when danger actually arrives"IMPORTANT
Hey everyone.
Speaking of the Skype chat, something was proposed there that I think needs to be discussed as a larger group and that should be resolved relatively quickly. What follows is a transcript from the chat:
agreed Masky.
I'm all for that so whats the plan
Idea: We need an antagonistic organization.
That’s what we need to discuss, Sergey
Something maybe even worldspanning
Recorded
I’m going to be taking a record of ideas, btw
And the comments on them
Idea: Rather than a specific antagonistic organization, we create several individuals or groups that have designs on the city for one reason or another
Hmm, as a general idea we maybe should still give in some sort of char shheet to begin with, because honestly I have no idea who is who/what right now, I know that spotty is a harpy and that we have some magical girl under the players, and thats it, so yeah... I mean charsheets can be changed when we change our character but as a start we probably should make one
hmmm, splitting resources and every groups actions are determined by a specific group of players each.
Maybe one antagonist would be specific for every player? Like a supressed bad memory or something along those lines
…Yeah, we need to just like put the game on pause and spend a few days world building, don’t we?
Like Spottys mythic forms?
I second the Worldbuilding idea
thirded.
I think we really do need to hammer out more about the game, because running it purely freeform will almost certainly not work (it hasn't in any past experience I've had) when the characters are limited in number (even if you can change your powers around and even gender and whatnot, in the end our character is us).
So: ideas? Questions? Comments?
Edit: edited a typo from the transcript that was actually mistyped that way but caused wiki word silliness.
Edit 2: While I'm too lazy to edit in exactly who said what, this conversation occurred between me, Blackie, and Sergey.

I am here.
I'll just put my idea here again that one Antagonist could be player specific like the manifestation of a suppresed past memory (I guess everyone had some sort of bad expirience in the past)
Also I turn in the suggestion again that since its a bit confusing right now that we do some sort of char sheet when we start again so all know who is who/what.

"One may feel fear in the face of danger so long as one banishes fear when danger actually arrives"Sounds like a good idea, though I don't have anyone who could be an antagonist for myself. Not that I don't have bad memories, but they're not really bad enough that they could serve as an antagonist.
I'm also all for a character sheet.
In the year 202X, all is devastation... Soon, any last shred of hope had by the saintliest optimist shall die and decay. No experiences on my side either.
My main suggestion was the multiple groups thing as well as the idea that we put things on pause (or at least don't start anything big) for a few days while we do worldbuilding, which would, once it was completed, allow us to enter into serious things with some sense of what is going on.
And yeah, I'd really rather not do the "antagonists from your past" thing either, though for different reasons than the previous two.

Then your antagonist could just be a weakling XD its not that we need thraumatising pasts for something like this. but yeah, its just a suggestion.

"One may feel fear in the face of danger so long as one banishes fear when danger actually arrives"We are permitted multiple changes... so why not exploit it?
I like the worldbuilding idea. Without it, we'd be way too limited to some particular spots.
Besides, considering how many plots I have in the Arena, I'm not planning on starting one of my own in here. This time, I'll be following the plots of others.
Plus, with someone like Dimentio as my character, a weak antagonist wouldn't last one fight.
In the year 202X, all is devastation... Soon, any last shred of hope had by the saintliest optimist shall die and decay.@Blackie: What do you mean by that?
@Devil Psyco: From what I take from that, it sounds like Dimentio is a Super Weight 4 with generalist magic?

How about everybody having an antagonistic transformation? While the memories may be the same, the biological and hormonal changes can lead to a warped personality.

Then we're not really all that different from the Arena, Blackie. The entire concept of this game is that we are playing ourselves with physical and power transformations.
@4mask: Nah, Dimentio is nowhere near a Super Weight 4, unless he transforms, which I'll obviously be unable to do. He just has very strong magic, and even that's more limited as my character can't use it to its full extent due to his lack of knowledge. He'll never reach his maximum potential either, as it likely took Dimentio himself years of practice to get there. It's a good and realistic way to balance him out.

In the year 202X, all is devastation... Soon, any last shred of hope had by the saintliest optimist shall die and decay.I am for a retcon of the town being completely lifeless. How about we find traces of change, caused by living beings. We are isolated from society, fear reigns.
@Devil Psyco: Next time you're in the Skype chat remind me I wanted to have a discussion with you about generalist casters.
@Blackie: Hmm... Honestly, for a variety of reasons both character and player related I can't see that working. I can see, however, something having happened specifically in the area we are at that the rest of the world is only starting to notice occurred. *shrug*

...What about zombies?
The fact that only 140 characters are allowed here is honestly so disappointing to me.Well, I'm there right now, so...
In the year 202X, all is devastation... Soon, any last shred of hope had by the saintliest optimist shall die and decay.@engie: No specific problem with that beyond the power level of some of the characters. If people intentionally reduced the power of some of the more combat-oriented characters, I could see it working.
@Devil Psyco: I'm trying to focus on one thing at a time, and it can definitely wait.

Pretty much nothing, yeah. I've moved out to my own base, effectively going full Elsa about twenty blocks from where you all are (minus the freezing an entire nation thing: yet)
