Naze, when we say "Raise your flag!", it's not supposed to be a death flag you're raising!
So how long do you guys think Iok will last? The guy will have to get himself killed at some point, right?
"They truly were a Aqua Teen Hunger Force"Probably, but he's such a convenient catalyst for disaster I can see the writers keeping him around until the season finale.
Goddammit Iok, it would been better for everyone if your stupid ass got himself killed.
Yeah no, this is terrible advice there Atra. Like wow. You can see the horror on Kudelia's face. Also, just as I suspected Atra has an inferiority complex towards the two people closest to her. Sad.
I don't think Mikazuki "babies look tasty" Augus would be much of a family man anyway.
Turbines backstory. Ouch, the death flag just hurts. Naze is such a great man, taking care of all those women. Please don't die.
Amida looks a lot better with lighter makeup.
Seriously, please don't kill the Turbines.
I seem to remember those flowers were featured quite prominently in Hell Girl, which is not exactly encouraging.
Atra's thinking is... understandable, but horribly off. I hope Kudelia's able to pull her to a better line of thought. Also, I hope no one introduces Mikazuki to Swift's A Modest Proposal.
I wonder when/if we'll get an episode title as on-point as Zeta Gundam's "Casualties of War." "The Final Lie" comes close, but it doesn't feel quite as stark.
No, not the brothel. I'm fairly certain that Atra is referring back to the owner of the general store she was working at way back in episode 1.
TBH, Iok seems just dumb enough to survive everything.
Other than that, I'm curious to see what Naze's plan actually is. And what happens to the rest of the Turbines if he goes down? I honestly had no idea that they were such a large organization — I figured there was more to them than just the Hammerhead, but still, a 50,000-employee organization is enormous. So they get absorbed into Teiwaz, or just end up scattering to the winds and doing whatever they can to survive?
It seems inevitable that the Turbines as an organization are doomed, and I expect Naze and/or Amida to go down with it. The Turbines folks who've been spending time with Tekkadan are almost certain to go back to them permanently, as might the entire Hammerhead crew (assuming the ship survives). Less likely but still possible: the entire organization ends up throwing in with Tekkadan, pretty much instantly making them one of the single biggest power blocs in the solar system.
I wonder if Orga is going to do the smart thing and let Naze do whatever he has planned without interfering. Actually, what are the consequences for Tekkadan if the Turbines go down? The Turbines are their patrons within Teiwaz, but Tekkadan has been proving themselves on their own terms as well, so I don't think that the Turbines getting the axe would necessarily mean that Tekkadan gets cut loose as well. It would leave them vulnerable, but McMurdo seems to like them, so I doubt he'd allow any overt moves against them. Of course, McMurdo seems to take a hands off approach to his underlings, so it's unlikely that he'd go much to stop Jaisey from going after Tekkadan once the Turbines are out of the picture.
Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.I think the best move for the McGillis-Tekkadan alliance right now is to find a way to show that the evidence was planted. Tekkadan doesn't really have the resources or skills to investigate that angle, but McGillis has circumstantial evidence that could be used to request an audit of the warehouse Iok obtained the weapons from. I rather doubt he's bright enough to hide his tracks all that well.
On Tekkadan's end, they might be able to connect the dots that Naze did to start looking for leaks on the Teiwaz side. If they find out that it's Jasley, it's gonna get messy, whether they take it to McMurdo for orders or take care of it themselves like they did to that guy on Earth.
But yeah, I'd bet on Naze and the Hammerhead going down in flames just before that gets wrapped up.
Well, Chocolate Man did say something like "It's time to make our move", so I think he's doing a thing, at least. Whether that's to our heroes' benefit is yet to be seen.
Yeah, I think he's kicking off his coup. At which point the Turbines being framed for something illegal becomes irrelevant, because you need a government to enforce laws (yes, Mr. Anarchist at the back, I can hear you, now please sit down).
What's precedent ever done for us?So my prediction based on the Death Flags. I think Lafter is safe for now. It would be odd to make her the only Turbine prominent in the OP only to kill her off a few episodes in. I think she, and a few of the other Turbines will managed to escape and live.
I think both Naze and Amida will bite it hear. The duo has been joint at the hip since their introductions and I can honestly see Amida pulling a "staying behind" with him if it comes down to it.
I don't think Orza will get directly involved despite how distressed he is. I think he will try to get Mc Gillis to pull some strings (and fail) but then learn of the mole in Teiwaz.
Going forward I think Tekkadan will get into conflict with the rest of Teiwaz because Orza will disobey Naze's request to focus on his family by taking in the surviving Turbine members.
I really wih Jasley will learn that he read McMurdo wrong big time. Even if he manage to kill Naze, kin-slayer should be too big sin to forgive.
On Iok, I wish he survive. But should be captured and forced to does lowly labor job because nobody know who the hell he is. It's fitting fate for him to learn what it's like to be without his family name. This would kill two birds with one stone: he'll get a chance for development, and even more chance to mess up and cause trouble again.

×2
I don't think so, Mc Murdo will probably learn that Naze was set up.
"They truly were a Aqua Teen Hunger Force"Jeez this episode.... just... damn.
Iok please die, die in a fire. You too Jalsey, may you suffer the chainsaw fate from Scarface.
I know the death flags are raising but I hope the whole Turbines crew can lay avoid them, and manage to escape and law low. God damn I feel for Orga, wanting so badly to help but Naze is right the best course is to not put Tekkadan into the cross-hairs as well. We can only hope maybe Tekkadan and Mc Gillis can uncover the frame job. Even if Mc Gillis is readying his coup, it'd certainly destablize things if he can put a bad spotlight on House Kujan. Which in turn would also put a bad light on House Elion since they're affiliated; hurting two rival houses in one stroke.
Plus having the Turbines owe him gratitude could go a long way in keeping his alliance with Tekkadan strong, and maybe also get the Turbines (tho' given Naze's savvy not likely) in his corner.
I just hope if things go south some of the Turbines crew can make it to Mars and seek shelter with Tekkadan.
The new OP song... I liked Survivors, whereas many didn't care for it over Raise your Flag but here I'm in the boat of the 2nd OP being weak in comparison; especially after Rage of Dust. Also that second ED.... omnious as shit I swear if the Tekkadan photo starts cropping out people who die I'm gonna cry.
Hell I expect crying in the future.
I must admit hearing Haba (Atra's former boss) give that kind of advice somewhat sours my opinion of her as that is a skeevy way to 'settle a man down', and the entire mindset is just manipulation and rife with potential disaster. Yet this 'state of thinking' still persists in RL to this day so it's not surprising even good people like Atra's former boss bought into it. While I'm disappointed Kudelia didn't talk Atra out of such a thing; it was nice how she tried to lift Atra's spirits and remind her that Mika obviously thinks highly of her and she shouldn't put herself down. Poor cinnamon roll and her self esteem issues. I swear writers OT3, make it so, let them live and be happy or I'll find you....!
I laughed my ass off when Atra refused Mika food when he thought of baby's as food. Oh man these two are cute. Of course Mika didn't get the 'not-subtle' hints Atra dropped and Atra is not good at flirting, give it time guys. ^_^
Regarding Naze's remark and going from skeevy to endearing to skeevy; I can see why it does come off that way. I think when you consider the metaphors and a Japanese mindset it's supposed to come off as endearing and symbolic, but... eh yeah it sounds skeevy but I don't think it was meant to be. Still this episode did great fleshing out the Turbines backstory and the exact nature of Naze and his 'wives' and the organizational set up.
I swear Iok and Jalsey will die if they destroy that family. Then again knowing how Gundam stories go, and IBO's own themes; that maybe the entire point of what's to come and get us invested, enraged and wanting to see justice, and overall wanting more.
Stray thought doubt it will happen but it would be hilarious and just plain awesome if Tekkadan and Mc Gillis discover all the players behind the frame up and Mika has Hush carry him to Jalsey's place; and just caps all the mo'fo's and Jalsey himself while still on a 'terrified' Hush's shoulders.
"You messed with our family; so Orga says you have to die." *BAM, BAM!*
Hell it'd be poetic irony if Jalsey's kin-killer remark seeks karma and an enraged Mc Murdo is the one who puts him down for destablizing a part of Teiwaz, or if Naze manages to survive long enough to get revenge himself, or a double tap co-op with Amida.

Fly Gundam! Autobots ROLL OUT! COWABUNGA/BOOYAKASHA!!Well, babies' limbs do look like sausage links. I think Mikazuki's on to something here. I also got a nice chuckle out of Akihiro throwing pretty much the entirety of Tekkadan under the bus in his convo with Lafter like that.
On to the topic of deaths, sheesh. At minimum Naze and Amida are toast. I've been expecting it for a while since he comes off as Too Cool to Live and this episode, as per the show's unsubtle tendencies, handed him a friggin' bouquet of death flags. Azee's probably going down too since she's rather expendable and I believe this is the first OP she's missed.
The ending makes me nervous. It's making me paranoid that they're going to do a thing where the Isaribi takes a particularly nasty hit in battle and then a chunk of the extras in the photo will be omitted.

My Megaman and MegaTen liveblogsLafter is poster girl for Gekija kit, which is newest Teiwaz MS. So at least her plot armor is more solid than ever.
Good for Akihiro (he lost enough people already anyway).

Who designed those? Yoji Shinkawa?
My Megaman and MegaTen liveblogsI wonder if the yellow on Barbatos's claws and toes means it has that ultra hard alloy the Grimgerde's blades have?
Fate Grand Order players will know me as Ryusei-Go.So I'm catching up... slowly. And really it is impressive how great the mechanical design of this series is, everything looks like it is actual machinery.
Damn on the new Barbatos form and the new mech designs....holy crap....
Fly Gundam! Autobots ROLL OUT! COWABUNGA/BOOYAKASHA!!Aye, that Reginlaze Julia gives me ZOE vibes. Definitely going on my gunpla list.

I like how Naze's explanation of his haem goes from skeezy to heartwarming back to skeezy again.
