You know, there's a Pony Fanfiction Thread. No reason to make another thread.
Anyway, most of the Conversion Bureau stuff was written around the first two seasons of the show. So that's probably about it.

Arguably, none.
Nous restons ici.Not much actually. The pony characters are very easy to tell apart for the most part both appearance and personality wise. Basic knowledge at the most.
The Other Side of the Conversion Bureau doesn't focus just on the ponies so you should be fine. The original Conversion Bureau is known for having many pony characters OOC though. The original author disowned Conversion Bureau....

You need about as much MLP to understand the Conversion Bureau as you need research about Caesar's life to understand the Thirty Years' War.
@Pannic: Sorry, this the first time I have posted on these forms. Must've misunderstood the format, my bad.
@Everyone: Thanks for the advice. I will most likely watch an episode or so (depending on if I enjoy) before reading the fic. Again, thanks!
"If nothing we do matters, all that matters is what we do."More like you need to watch show to understand what is wrong with Conversion Bureau
You probably should skip original fic and take Chatoyance version (this is one what is most (in)famous)
Hell even knowing the general premise or basics of the show and characters generally can give you a good idea why The Conversion Bureau is outrageously OOC for every pony character involved. The Conversion Bureau The Other Side Of The Spectrum is rather interesting as it plays the massive amounts of Fridge Horror and Fantastic Racism present in the original completely straight and it does not sugarcoat the horrifying implications of all that.

I'm interested in reading the Conversion Burea and its deconstruction The Other Dide of the Spectrum, but I've never seen the actual show. How much would I need to watch to understand those stories?
