We have a Transgender, can we simply change this page to Transgender?

Being a transgender person, the word Transsexual carries with it the expectation that if you are transgender (which is a blanket term covering not only the gender fluid, asexual, transsexual pre-op and post-op, but even possibly some intersex people), naturally you will want to do the operation. This information, however is inaccurate, since not all transgenders go through with, or even want the surgery.

That is, Transsexual is an unduly specific term only regarding characters who legitimately want a sex change. But, Wholesome Crossdresser covers the rest, right? Well... not really. There are fulltime crossdressers that perceive themselves as women. There are people who don't intend surgery but do want to take hormones. Or who want an entirely different surgery. At best, this is almost Too Rare To Trope. At worst, this is actually borderline offensive to the transgender people who AREN'T transsexual.

If we have a Useful Notes page, then the main should match up for easy catalog. Along with this, I would propose someone read articles about the difference (and that in fact, it is possible in many states to be marked "female" on your license, but not have surgery), because this page possibly needs a better description.

This is a Trope Repair Shop topic and TRS is currently closed. Locking this procedurally.
