I wonder how many viewers unfamiliar with FF 7 even realized that original Hojo really was trying to make them breed. The scene fits so much with the humour the abridged series has presented so far.

Hojo may have also done some science-y stuff to make it work. You never know with him.

You all should be ashamed of casting aspersions on Hojo's noble conservation efforts. He was merely attempting to prevent the Cetra species from going extinct. Aeris was the Last of Her Kind, after all. Hell, so was Red XIII. That's two species saved from extinction!

Personally, I always wondered how Red XIII ended up in Shira's custody. And what the deal with Red I - XII was. It seems like there should have been a story there, but I don't recall either of those things being brought up.

One thing that Before Crisis addressed right is how Red XIII was captured by Shinra and how he was able to breed, it's a sort of retcon but it works well enough.

I think Red XIII's name came from Nomura's Author Appeal and there really wasn't a reason for it.

We don't talk about the computer.

The fact that it's what happened doesn't change the part where it's massively out of character. For Hojo and the president.

It being Hojo's fetish would make more sense.

God damn, when Aeristh got introduced, I knew that the It Was His Sled is going to really fuck me up later on.

So far none of the episodes or characters have been bad.

Except the Shinra Execs, who are terrible on purpose.

Yea, I realized that after I watched it. In my defense: I am an idiot.

Tifa got fricken owned at the end there. I guess it will eventually lead to season 2 showing that Aerith is the tomboy while Tifa is the more sensitive one like how they actually are portrayed.

I think Red XIII had the appropriate reaction there.

So season one was significantly shorter than Disc One.

When Cloud says it like that it makes Tifa more sympathetic, not less.

I just saw in their cast listing that they got Xander Mobus, aka the announcer from Super Smash Bros., to voice Rufus Shinra.
