Unforgotten Realms Live is a board game created by Robert Moran, based on his Old Cartoon, and played by him and his crew nearly every Saturday. You can find the videos Here and Here. It is essentially a simplified, funny version of Dungeons and Dragons. Already, 8 weeks in and 6 campaigns played (plus 1 unofficial campaign), the world of Unforgotten Realms is more fleshed out now then it has been in a long time. As such, I believe that now would be a perfect time to play a rousing game of Unforgotten Realms Live!


I've been wanting to get back into Role playing for a while now. While there are many fine RP's on this forum, none of them have ever appealed to me personally. I'm also a much better Game Master then just a player. With Unforgotten Realms Live, I can finally start an RP and be it's game master as well. I have a campaign ready and willing to launch, with various stories and a grand adventure for the adventurers. My only concern is whether or not people actually want to play an Unforgotten Realms Live campaign on this site. So, I'm throwing caution to the wind and seeing if there is any interest in the game!

Unforgotten Realms Live: The Beast Beneath Us!
A Strange Creature has forced a Dwarven mine company out of the Kolkatta Mines. With Fall on its way, the area scarce of Trees and the Dwarven town of Kolkatta dependent on the Coal, a powerful and influential Gnome has hired a band of mercenaries to clean the Kolkatta Mines of whoever, or whatever, haunts the depths of them. Will you prevail? Or will the town of Kolkatta suffer a cruel, harsh fate like our heroes?

    Rules of the RP 
Unforgotten Realms Live is a simple game. First, you must create a character (Or, if you are Greenskin Goblins, 2 characters). There are 3 important parts to any Characters: Race, Subrace and Class. These 3 parts give the character his or her stamina. Classes also gives you your starting Gold for purchasing items. After selecting these, a 20 sided die is rolled to give the character additional stamina (If Kobold, roll two 20 sided dice). For the purposes of this RP, you are to use the 20-sided die from this website, for additional stamina to your character. Classes then get to pick 3 of any of their potential spells (If you are a Hobgoblin, after all adventurers are selected, you get to pick an additional 2 spells from an one allie's class). Once all adventurers are selected, you are allowed to buy items from the store. All adventurers can hold 15 items in total. If you are a Goblin of any kind, you can steal from the Shopkeep by rolling a number higher then his, but if you fail, you buy the item and loose 1 stamina (if you can't buy it, you loose 3 stamina and are kicked out of the shop).

Once everyone has bought what they want, the adventure finally begins in the small desert village of Kolkatta. You can explore the town and talk to NPC's, but sooner or later you will have to go into the mine. All maps will be on a grid, and all characters will be represented in square tiles.

Out of Combat, you can talk to anyone, and move as much as you want as long as you stay in bounds of the map. You can also cast spells to do whatever you like as long as you have the spell, but you will have to roll for them (If you're a Kobold, you always have to roll 2 dice). Out of Combat you will also immediately heal from any Stamina lost from In Combat.

In Combat, every character will have a move and an action. You can only move 5 spaces in combat unless you want to run, which will move your character 10 spaces but will require a roll. An action will be anything that requires a roll, including running. Remember, Spells will take Stamina away from you both in and out of Combat, but you will be healed after Combat. After all characters have their action and move performed, then it will be the hostile NPC's turn to attack and move. Until one side is either defeated or runs off, Combat remains active. If you win a conflict, you will gain additional gold. When a Character looses all their Stamina, they go unconscious. If they are hit in this unconscious state too hard, or are a Greenskin Goblin and loose all of their Stamina, then they will die. Pets also have Stamina, but your character can take the damage for your pet instead of your pet taking the damage. Remember, only the GM (me) can declare when Combat is and isn't active.

Also, there will be events for both Out of Combat and In Combat scenarios if this campaign gets off the ground. They will be posted in the Roleplay discussion, and will need to be voted for in order to be activated. Some events will be positive to the party, others will be negative, but no one will know until they are voted for. Any and all events need 15 votes or more to activate.

The GM will perform all rolls except the Additional Stamina and Goblin Pure Greed rolls. This is to ensure that there is no cheating. I will take pictures of all dice rolls, and can present them if you request them.

Finally, do not feel bad if you or your party fails the campaign. Unforgotten Realms Live is meant to be fun and about people's adventures, whether they win or loose them. At the end of the campaign, if you win it, you will all be given a short epilogue on all of the characters.

    Races and Subraces 
Races For Campaign
  • Dwarf - Golden Inheritance (Your character starts with an additional 1000 gold. +10 Stamina)
    • Hill Dwarf - Adrenaline (Anytime a character is defeated by you or your party, you may use a basic attack on a target adjacent to you even if it is not currently your turn. +1 Stamina)
    • Dverger Dverger - Stoneskin (You may use an entire turn to into your pure stoneform. In this form, almost all damage is negated and you become near impossible to move. +6 Stamina. Incredibly hairy and may repeat words at the end of sentences)
  • Kobold - Fortunately Unfortunate (Kobolds always roll two dice and choose which die they want to use, however rolling a one on either die will always cause a Critical Failure. You should always treat anytime you have to roll a die as rolling both. +8 Stamina. Immune to all Diseases)
    • Triton Ground - Berserking (Rolling a critical on a basic attack grants you an additional 2 actions. +1 Stamina)
    • Stonequisitor - Power of Prayer (Stonequisitor Kobolds can roll on behalf of other players if both agree. If they roll a Critical for them, they may heal an ally for 3 stamina. If you roll a Critical Fail, you both suffer the failure. +3 Stamina)
  • Goblin - Pure Greed (Instead of buying items outright, Goblins can roll to attempt to steal an item instead. If they roll higher than the Game Master, they do not have to pay the gold cost for items they are trying to buy. If the attempt to steal fails, the player loses one maximum stamina. +9 Stamina)
    • Hobgoblin - Bulky (Doubles the stamina gained from your bonus roll and allows you to pick 2 additional abilities from classes of your allies that they did not select. +0 Stamina)
    • Greenskin - Speciesism (Greenskin goblins travel in pairs which means you create two characters. Each turn you play for both characters with their own moves and actions, but with a shared stamina pool. Greenskins do not have an unconscious state and instead are killed when they run out of stamina. In addition, when below half stamina have a much greater chance to die to critical hits. Also Greenskins can read the mind of other Greenskins and Hobgoblins. +10 Stamina. Conjoined Twins are acceptable if they are both alive)

Classes for the Campaign (PLEASE NOTE: No Class is Race specific. Any Race/Subrace can be Any Class)

  • Warrior: The Tank Class. +10 Stamina. +1200 Gold. Spells Include: Blockade, Charge, Chivarly, Tosser, Whirlwind
  • Wizard: Aggressive Spell Caster. +3 Stamina. +1500 Gold. Spells Include: Arcane Beam, Arcane Missiles, Fireball, Ice Bolt, Blizzard
  • Sorcerer: Defensive Spell Caster. +5 Stamina. +2000 Gold. Spells Include: Blink, Enlarge, Rolling Fog, Ray of Frost, Flare
  • Magician: Supportive Spell Caster. +5 Stamina. + 1000 Gold. Spells Include: Encore, Flock of Ravens, Copycat, Optical Illusion, Levitate
  • Theurgist: Pet-Oriented Spell Caster. + 5 Stamina. + 1200 Gold. Spells Include: Call Earthlord, Ice Bolt, Summon Air Sprites, Summon Frost Elemental, Wind Blast
  • Lumberjack: Tank Class. +7 Stamina. +1500 Gold. Spells Include: Earthquake, Mount, Paincakes, Woodland Companion, Yodel
  • Paladin: Supportive Melee Class. +5 Stamina. +1000 Gold. Spells Include: Divine Intervention, Blessing of Strength, Honor Chains, Lay On Hands, Unholy Water
  • Cabalist: Supportive Spell Caster. +1 Stamina. +1500 Gold. Spells Include: Blanket of Darkness, Grand Ravens' Claw, Lifedrain, Nearsight, Pestilence
  • Bard: Supportive Melee Class. +6 Stamina. +2000 Gold. Spells Include: Disguise, Bolster Spirits, Charm, Lullaby, Storyteller

[up] I don't think it's the same lore. I'm going to say no, sadly.

EDIT: However, you can have a backstory that is nearly identical to that of a Lords of Mine Craft or Dwarves Vs. Zombies Character (Even though there aren't Zombies in Unforgotten Realms Live... yet).
