I can only imagine how having a Eva and a Gundam would turn out.

The idea of the players playing the enemy monsters is a novel one, but I was wondering how that would play into the Myth Arc of the mystery of the island. Is it going to be a Kevin Feige thing where you supplement our enemy suggestions with concepts and clues that tie into the larger story, or is it going to follow the age old tradition of " monster monster monster plot monster monster monster..."

It's probably unfair for the monster of the week to be fighting Amuro. The man learned how to fight through war where you gotta play dirty to survive. Combine that with his Nuclear Fusion Powered Gundam with beam weaponry and funnels.

I'm probably going to wait for a few more signups before we kick things off. So probably sometime next week, or failing that, the week after.

(Although if people are really enthusiastic I could probably get the ball rolling over the weekend.)

I had some mild thoughts of Earth X from Disgaea 4 as a signup but she would probably be somewhere around 9-12 meters tall and is the type that destroys cities, not building smasher.

I'm going to enjoy all the pilots reactions to the Iron Giant.

"Wait, why doesn't that one have a cockpit?"

"Hello... friends..."

I'm just imagining Kamina (via Gurren) lazing about and trying to flick scrap metal into the Iron Giant's mouth the way you flick peas at the dinner table.

@kage: they'll have the same reaction when the Prowl and the Constructicons, as well as the Protectobots, show up.

Amuro would probably try to build the Iron Giant a Haro.

Well guys and gals, I'm working on the opening post now. It should be up sometime tonight, and then the fun begins...

So have your characters arrive wherever you want (either inside or outside of their various contraptions), just mention roughly where they are in your intro post and take things from there. If you have a few supporting characters, they can arrive with the main fighters or on the sidelines (I'll address housing in a bit after things settle down)

Also feel free to write the reactions of various non-player characters caught up in the mayhem.

Are our characters subjected to the normalization brain-frying, or does that just apply to the general populace?

@Locoman: I'm thinking that since they're from different universes, the Protectobots and Prowl's team would be using fairly-different identifying energy signatures, even though they would technically still be considered 'Autobot' or 'Decepticon' signatures in their respective universes.

They are indeed immune to the sinister don't-think-about-it-field.

It's more of a rough indicator, so just assume that there are business districts on both sides of the city, smarty-pants.

Sounds good. Bricks will probably be shat when they bump into one another.

I assume that there is no year the RP takes place?

Around 2015 or so, maybe a few years into the future.

Things are more or less the way they are in real life.

I'm probably going to wait for everyone to post their introductions before terrible horrible things start happening we embark on our grand adventure.

Ah, I'm being more of a holdup than I thought. >.<
