I've made my own small tribute. One thing that's warmed my heart over the last several days has been the outpouring of love and respect from fans worldwide. I just wanted to share.

Only thing I did for an Iwata tribute was a post I made on the Miiverse stage in Smash Wii U for Ness saying "Well miss you, Iwata" with a pic of Ness crying.

You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!

My condolences to all of Mr. Iwata's friends, family, coworkers, and all of us in the gaming community as a whole. Mr. Iwata, you inspired a great many of us, including me. You are why I got into games. Your creations have lead to many unbreakable bonds with my greatest of friends. Your creations brought me here, where I spend countless hours looking over your work and what it consists of. You have shot me to the highest points of my life, and pulled me out of the lowest. We love you, Satoru Iwata, may you rest in peace with us all.

Sorry, I have an interdimensional rift of evil to clean.

Masahiro Sakurai's thoughts on Iwata's funeral during his column on Weekly Famitsu.

His closing statement:

In a previous column, I wrote that when someone passes on, for those around them, it’s simply as though a character has been removed from their story, but for the deceased, the entire world has gone away. However, even for other people, Mr. Iwata’s presence was too great to simply call him a character in the story of life.

Mr. Iwata’s world is gone, leaving a massive impression on those around him. Yet, even so, our world continues.

I will not mourn or fall into depression. I will continue to do my work as best as I can. All I can offer is that I complete that which I have to do.
