Kuratas probably has more control for grappling, though Eagle Prime looks really stable. It's basically a giant steel wall. So... I'm rooting for Kuratas, but my money would be on Eagle Prime.

Hopefully no one gets hurt and everything's kept clean.

Iron Glory got toppled with one punch.

Round 1 of Eagle Prime VS Kuratas was ended with a deadlock.

Looks like Round 2 goes to Eagle Prime.

Really, Kuratas seems to be designed as charging battering ram. Once eagle prime managed to pin Kuratas's Power Fist, it just had no backup plan.

Kuratas's problem was that it was too defensive in the second round. As mentioned, Kuratas is 100% momentum and offense. Once it stops moving and attacking, it's vulnerable. It should have just charged like a madman at Eagle Prime and thundered him to death with punches.

I'm sad about this result. I was rooting for Kuratas.

ROUND 1: IRON GLORY VS KURATAS = KURATAS WINS BY K.O.

ROUND 2: EAGLE PRIME VS KURATAS = DRAW.

ROUND 3: EAGLE PRIME VS KURATAS = EAGLE PRIME WINS BY T.W.

THE VICTOR IS EAGLE PRIME

I for one look forward to Kuratas MKII and the next battle of Mega Bot VS that Chinese Monkey King robot.

Kuratas also sadly suffered from Crippling Overspecialization; it was clearly modified to destroy Iron Glory, which was what the challenge was made with, not Eagle Prime, which had so many experts involved in its upgrade that I can barely call it a fair fight. Also the lack of a true backup weapon left it at a severe disadvantage; both times Eagle Prime grabbed its Power Fist, it was basically helpless due to a lack of weaponry on the right arm.

I kinda wonder how devastating a blade could've been had it had one; Eagle Prime's arms had a lot of exposed cabling that looked like it could've made for a good target.

To be fair, it's not like Kuratas wasn't rebuilt/refurbished for the fight as well.

Kuratas MK-I/Pre-challenge Kuratas was 4 tons. After the upgrades, it was 6.5 tons. It's entire articulated rear section was replaced with a engine and a pair of wheels, to give it the speed for it's giant fist punch.

Said fist itself weighed half a ton, and I don't doubt required alot of reinforcements to the frame so as to support the arm and the impacts it would endure.

Honestly to call Kuratas the same bot it once was seems a bit dishonest. Iron Glory mostly just had it's cockpit reinforced for safety, but was otherwise unchanged from it's original design. Eagle Prime was a total rebuild of the original Iron Glory "Design" (anatomically, it keeps the mad-dog inspired helicopter cockpit, the two legs that attach it to a tank base, but was built somewhat bigger. Like Kuratas, Eagle Prime sacrificed some of it's more mech-like attributes by really solidifying the tread base into a full-on vehicle that the upper body rests on, and the upper body was made wider and more massive. If they hadn't felt the need to make a new mech, it's likely Iron Glory would have had a Eagle Prime-esque set of "Feet" and additional armor, plus reinforcements and crash bars all around the body and the new arms. They just decided making a new bot with all of those features would be cheaper/more efficient than to keep working on Iron Glory.

What really makes me root for Eagle Prime, is that it's the more articulate and "humanlike" of the two mechs. It's legs and bend independently, whereas Kuratas, by the time it was combat-read, was a tractor with a torso-turret on top.

For me, the whole fight felt scripted and cheesy, especially with the announcers and the fake danger they were in.

Perhaps they should've gone the Mythbusters route of showing each mech's strengths and weaknesses in certain scenarios instead of making the event seem like some "Fight Night" Spike TV event... which it clearly wasn't. Yeah, it wouldn't have been as exciting a fight, but this clearly wasn't a match in the Kurata's favor.

I honestly felt they were too low key about it. They were aiming for UFC when they should be aiming for WWE.

It should be more insane.
