Not even factually true. This clearly isn't a game world. And players plural is wrong too. One player and a bunch of NPCs.

Well we don't know that yet. What with all the heavy foreshadowing, foreboding & Ainz' constant paranoia there's gonna be other players soon.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."It's still not an accurate summation because I know as of seven volumes there are no confirmed player characters in Yggdrasil now beyond Ainz himself. As a summary of what I assume is the first volume, it's just flat out inaccurate.
Well its technically correct if you consider the special figures.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."The first volume might not even mention them and, most likely, they were taken from an earlier point in the game.
Also spoilers.
I forgot how to do spoilers so I just edited it to be more simple.
Still yeah its a bit inaccurate but hey we just gotta be patient.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Oooh. I just had an idea! A spoilery idea.
There's a ridiculous time differential between Yggdrassil/our world and from an outside perspective all the various different groups that got transported to the new world within a couple of hours of each other as the various servers shut down. But because of the Year Inside, Hour Outside effect (vastly multiplied) they arrived in the New World centuries apart.
I think there's only one server, so no multiple shutdowns, but I can think of two basic possible explanations. One, large time differential, which would be the easiest explanation. The Six Gods or whatever thus would have left the game, say, three years before Ainz did, but arrived centuries ago. The second explanation is that everyone was pulled out of the game at the same time, but dropped into different time periods. This is something that only occurred to me during this conversation. However, I think the two player characters in the thirteen heroes argues against this idea. They seem to have been plucked from the game when it was a live, active place, not the graveyard the game was during the shutdown.

The Japanese equivalent of Captain N, if you took away the product placement.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!So here's an interesting question. Is the novel reaching "Darkness Induced Apathy"? Considering the current events that have occurred in the novels are things getting too dark or is their enough lightness that doesn't inspire total despair with the darkness?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Not quite, but I want Ainz to either be dead in the end or to have lost everything that matters to him. Nazarick denizens don't deserve happiness.
Ouch man that's kinda cruel.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."So you haven't read the latest translation yet slimcoder?
I'm reading this because it's interesting. I think. Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot, over.I havent read it exactly yet but I'm well aware of all the shit that happens up to vol 9 & the real brutal stuff Ainz does.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Why is that cruel? They're the villains of the story and so far have shown no signs that they intend to stop torturing people and feeding them their own children and things like that. You can argue that Ainz doesn't know about everything that goes on, but I don't think he'd punish Demiurge for it. What has Ainz done to deserve good things happening to him?
Technically he doesn't, and you're right, given his attitude with the Floor Guardians, it's likely that Demiurge will get punished either.
And I don't think we're supposed to empathize with Ainz anyway — we are witnessing his gradual slide into the "role" of evil Overlord, after all. When does it stop being an act? Just when will it be where the world-displaced salaryman finally vanishes, and the elder lich Momonga remains?

When the horrid puns start?
Secret SignaturePossibly when Momon 'dies' by getting unmasked. Or did that happen in volume nine? All I know is that he kills whatsisface in that book.
Lots of new releases this past Halloween weekend. Some comments.
I really enjoyed the Emissary to the King short story. The ending also basically confirmed volume 7's ending that the flag Albedo replaced was Momonga's and that her goal with that stat team is to destroy other guildmembers should they be found.
And even though the twitter story is a 'what if' scenario but I think it kind of confirms the theory that all the players were transported at the same time after the shutdown but where and when they got transported in the New World depends on where they were when the server shut down (e.g. guild hall or outside watching fireworks, etc).

It's done. VOL 10 PLOX
I'm reading this because it's interesting. I think. Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot, over.Huh 9's done? Then damn we just gotta wait until vol 10 is announced.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I think I might be more interested in that side story given that I can still hope for Ainz to be a sympathetic character there without Nazarick.
Well, to be fair, more and more stories are being told about being reacting to Ainz rather than his actions themselves. And I guess me noting that distinction means I actually just find Ainz to be too powerful rather than anything else.

Want to ask you something, have you found any fanfic worth reading? It would be nice to have a fic recopilation like other pages have, mostly because it's hilarious to see what the fandom can pull out of their arses.
In truth I'm a mass of hatred and caffeine masquerading as a human being. If you mean me, I don't read fanfiction.
"The once popular game Yggdrasil was supposed to shut down, but the players who stayed online past the moment the servers went quiet found themselves transported to a game world made real!"
...that summary really falls under the "factually true, but..." category.
