I have just discovered that the character pages for the Disney movies are oddly divided. All of the princesses are listed on Disney Princess, and not under the pages for their respective films.

I'm pretty sure this is not an effective method for sorting those pages, and I'd rather just have the princesses in the character pages for their respective works. I understand there's a separate toyline/setting for them, but still...

Thoughts?

I agree completely. Most of the tropes come from the movies and not the toylines, so it just seems like extra work to read the movie's tropes.

Reminder: two people does not make a consensus, and I'm not changing this without some kind of consensus.

No one has been here in a while. What are the mods opinions on this matter?

A little more than a week is not "a while".

This is not a moderation issue, so I think "no official one".

I'll add my support for the OP's suggestion as well. Only tropes that apply to the characters in that franchise should be listed on that page, those that apply in their respective films belong on the individual work pages.

Sorry for my absence from this thread, been busy with work this past week.

Anyway, since no one objects, the question is will there be enough tropes left to make the Disney Princess character pages worth keeping? I'm not seeing it.

See what happens if you list the film-specific character tropes under the film character pages, and not have them duplicated on the Disney Princess character pages. If there's enough to make a page, keep it. If not, cutlist it. I'm not personally familiar with the franchise as such, though, just several of the individual films.

I agree, they belong on their page. However anyway, the title of the topic seems vague enough to allow me to post another proposition. I have seen elsewhere, though not for Disney characters, that some characters have their very own character page, instead of being only a section of the character page of a work. How comes ? And would it be possible to make one for some Disney characters too ? I feel that some of the most developed like Scrooge Mc Duck and the Phantom Blot deserve a whole page.

While there should be a place for how the princesses are treated as a group in the wider Disney shared universe, they do need to be on their movie pages as well with trope lists there that are just their movie stuff.

Franchises can be awkward to handle. Especially franchises that span multiple media and treat their characters often very different in different contexts or works.

Yeah, for tropes about them in their movies, they go on those pages. For any in the Disney Princess franchise, keep them on those pages. Just each should have a link to the respective character pages for the other sets of tropes.

I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.
