About WHAT? Lucy isn't much of a character, there were no villains for her to fight and she basically became God at the end. And this is after being a God-Mode Sue the whole movie.

Meh, the sequel doesn't have to follow Lucy again. It can easily star a new character.

And do what with them? By the end of it Lucy could do pretty much anything she wanted just by wanting to. There's not really a whole lot of scope to explore.

New character or no, it's hard to build off of "And then Lucy became God". Where do you go from there? What's a new character gonna do with Lucy's storyline? Has to do something with it else why make it a Lucy sequel.

One idea I've heard is that the military tries to duplicate the process that gave Lucy her powers but make the new powered person someone they can control. Of course, the new person becomes to powerful to control their own power.
How many times have we seen THAT plot?

Yes, I read it. The point being, Lucy in the first one reached a point of omnipotence. She is an actual god in all but name. There is absolutely nothing another character could do she can't already do. It would be making the exact same movie twice with a different lead.

Seconded that last one. If they follow Lucy, it'd probably be her dealing with higher level stuff. Maybe God wants to burn us to the ground and Lucy has to protect us somehow.
It's not like they haven't done shit that Goody Two Shoes-like in recent history. Transcendence pretty much retold the Jesus story in technologic terms.
