@ Tojin: Addisu is accepted.

Alright, just letting peeps know that I have about three more characters in the works (yeah, I'm kind of abusing my own multiple character policy here). Elyzian, I saw you talking in the discussion thread and I'd like to let you know my second villain might fulfill your mad scientist quota. Beyond that, I have a hero who can fix things by a touch, and the mayor of the city herself.

You will have to move Addisu's age or birth year one way in either direction; he's 31 in 1945 but was born in 1915 currently. Just something semantic, no big deal.

For some reason I got it into my head that this was set in 1946. tongue Gonna fix that real fast.

Alright, here it is, my mad scientist- well, really more like an engineer.

  • Name: Vyvaen Nhailu (Goes by Vivian Nathaniels when disguised as a civilian)
  • Age: ~1.5 Saturn years or 45 Earth years (appears to be in mid 20s)
  • Gender: Female
  • Appearance: In her human disguise, Vivian stands at about 5'4", a woman of modest figure and short dark hair that stops just under her chin. She wears the latest in fashion and always likes to look her best.
  • Costume (If Applicable): Dropping the disguise, Vyvaen appears as she actually is - a 5'6" woman of average form and figure, with reflective bronze skin and black sclera, grey iris eyes. Her grey hair is worn long and straight, with two bangs along the front of her face, one braided and one not, with a bun worn on the back. Her dress is multi-layered like a traditional Japanese gown, but with each layer a different color, each faded and stained with time. With the glamor she simulates a long red sash tied around her waist that wraps around and floats above her shoulders.
  • Personality: Vyvaen is, in short, crazy. She loves spreading chaos and misery, especially to those who have power or privilege, and revels in mayhem. At the same time, she has a strong sense of megalomania, the truth about her parentage driving into her a deep seated entitlement complex that makes her feel like she deserves to lord over others. But despite her sadism and cruelty, she's also conniving enough to know how to put on a face, pretending to be a mild mannered housewife living in Civility. But even so, she's just waiting for a chance to let her facade crack and let the world know the real, unrestrained madness that is her.
  • Biography: Born the daughter of a royal maid to the Titanian family, Vyvaen's mother was quickly fired when her pregnancy was discovered due to rumors that the illegitimate father was the then-prince of Titan. This fact came to light for Vyvaen much later in life, after her mother was captured and placed in an insane asylum for having Mirandan blood - the now lifeless moon once populated eons ago before a great disaster shattered it and infected those who escaped with their lives and their future generations with Mirandan madness, unpredictable with when it would manifest in a family's or even an individual's history.
    • Having discovered she was potentially a child born of wedlock to the king of Titan, she grew obsessed with the throne and her mother's undue punishment as a result of the King's illicit affairs before his crowning and marriage to the Queen. As she was older than the crown princess, she felt she was the one to be the true rightful heir to the throne and plotted, using a modified Titanian glamor device to sneak into the palace and assassinate the royal family.
    • Eventually she was caught and dragged to prison, ranting and screaming about what was owed to her. With the royal family's regicide and the scandals she brought up, she was labelled in the solar media as the Mad Moon Princess of Miranda. Tried and convicted, it was found that no prison on Titan was willing to take her, so she was shipped to Io, where her madness only brewed for longer as she plotted her escape.
    • And escape she did, taking back what was confiscated from her before setting a route for Earth. Revenge on her captors did cross her mind, but that would turn her ambitions towards empires, which would be difficult to topple. No, she had done her damage, slipped away undetected, and had no desire to return. What Vy wanted now was a playground - a place where should be herself, madness and bitterness and all, and watch things suffer as she did. And what better place to start than a world reeling from war? Supers? Well, any good playground has friends to play with...
  • Abilities: Vyvaen's physical capabilities aren't anything to write home to for the most part, most of her attributes comparable to an average human being's, though she is able to fly at about the speed of a car (roughly 60 mph). Her most unique ability though is Ionian Detonation, a technique she learned from the prison on Io that allows her to create miniature explosions all along the surface of her body and clothes (without destroying them). While the explosions are too small to be lethal on their own, the blasts still have their uses.
    • Beyond this, she seems to have technological expertise, able to take devices and modify them greatly, often deviating sharply from their original use. There seems to be some sort of madness to her method though that makes her techniques impossible to reverse engineer through machinery alone, suggesting some degree of enchantment. Vyvaen is also a quick learner - more of facts than of physical skills, but this comes in very useful.
  • Equipment:
    • Titanian Glamor: Originally designed to change the appearance of clothing on the fly for Titan's royalty and premiere fashionistas, Vyvaen has modded it to actually physically alter her body, transforming her height, her frame, her skin and eye color, and altering her voice, while leaving its prior illusory fashion capabilities. However, she cannot alter her appearance substantially enough to look like others, or make herself invisible with the device. The device itself can transform into various compact forms - as a human, it appears as an earring with stars dangling from it. As herself, it appears as a large piece of jewelry attached to the back of her hand. (Note: It would be very dangerous for someone other than Vyvaen to try and use this device without modifying it to suit themselves. Be mindful of your bones and organs, kids.)
    • The Shattered Scepter of Royal Miranda: Originally the Titanian royal scepter, Vyvaen has desecrated it to no longer be the regal symbol it once was - the once glimmering staff has had its gilded gold chipped off, the great orb that once represented Titan now shattered and cracked. However, it's not just for appearances - so long as she has the staff in hand, she can break the orb into several shards which she can control within a meter radius of her. Though useless defensively, she can cut apart foes who try to get close to her.
    • Crest of Crescent: Inspired by tales of samurai able to split leaves in midair, Vyvaen set about modifying a stolen blade to do what in her mind was something similar. This technologically enhanced katana is the result - a sword that emits a line of light along its edge and when swung, cleaves nearly anything along the blade's line of sight, regardless of distance. It leaves alone flesh unless fighting up close and personal.
    • Beyond this, her assets include: a small, crashed prison transport ship disguised as a rock, located near the ruins of Possibility; a portable medical kit cannibalized from the med bay equipment from said ship that she uses to patch herself up; and a small apartment place with modern amenities, hidden panels to store her equipment, and holographic projectors to simulate her "husband."

#56: Jun 30th 2015 at 6:17:54 PM

  • Name: Her alias is Yimar of Suburbia, usually goes by Suburbia. Their real names are Martha Hillcrest and Yith.
  • Age: The body of a 40 year old woman, real age immeasurable.
  • Gender: Female body, really without gender or sex.
  • Appearance: Has the body of a tan, purple-haired and curvy older woman. The true appearance of Yith is incomprehensible. It's visible portions are only an extremely miniscule fraction of its entire form. If the rest of Yith is visible, the observer has already been engulfed by her.
  • Personality: Suburbia's mind is the melding of two very different beings into one. Martha, the housewife of California is a very emotional opinionated woman. She is adventurous and risky, as well as very affectionate. She wants to feel empowered and empower others, and her morals are very strong. She can be extremely stubborn, and even naive, but she is always willing to learn. She doesn't have much tolerance for evil or bigotry, but she seeks to understand it before eliminating it. She is very much compelled to protect and be motherly to everyone. Yith, on the other-hand is an incomprehensible Eldritch Abomination whose morality is so foreign, no human could hope to understand what drives it. It doesn't care for trivial human plight, or even the plights of demons and gods. That said, like Martha, it does seek to learn. The creature is hopelessly disturbed. These two minds meld into one body, acting within the good morality of Martha's wishes, while maintaining the evil, dark disturbances of Yith's mind. She is compelled to protect others, and act as a mother to them. She is a evil creature, acting for good. She likes eating, and can eat much more than a normal human on a daily basis, and also likes the cold, oppressive and soulless environment of the suburbs. She finds disgusting morbid things to be cute and adorable, or even arousing. She is very confusing and frustrated by emotions and sexuality, and even though she often speaks without feeling and in monotone, she can become easily flustered and embarrassed. She often speaks philosophically, or speaks with non-sequiturs. She likes to twist and bend language and ideas, probing and taking things to their logical conclusions, moment to moment. She has a deep obsession and fascination with religions and mythologies of Earth, and the one of the only forms of "recreation" she can understand and enjoy is reading and hearing stories from those myths.
  • Biography:
    • Eons before mankind was even a concept, a twinkle in the eye of the multiverse, beings of great power frolicked in the unknown. Space and Time were their playpen, and the primordial ooze was their milk. Across the many dimensions that make up existence, these old aliens, spanning universes in size travel the many realms, their motives and nature unknowable. Yith is one such being. Yith has one desire, to grow and to consume. This otherworldly being could freely travel the dimensions, eventually making its way into ours. Just a small piece of Yith could ever physically inhabit our world. But, it did not know of the human race, having no interest in petty life on every insignificant planet. It was just in the wrong place at the exact wrong time, and Yith's essence and mind was melded with that of Martha Hillcrest.
    • Martha was born and raised in a suburb in Southern California. She had a very normal well-to-do life. She was popular, her family had money, she didn't have to worry about much. She got married, raised two children. But then the war happened. Her husband, and her son, both deployed. Neither of them survived the horrors of the war. Martha was an absolute wreck. She and her daughter didn't know how to go on. Life was very hard. But Martha changed. She was able to be happy again, and she actually became freer. She wanted to experience new, wilder things, so when her daughter went off to college after the war ended, she moved to the city of Heaven, hoping to see new things and have a new life. She knew she would probably be alone for the rest of her life, so she was going to make the most of it. But then, something happened that would change her life forever. Her mind was melded with Yith. They became one, their minds wrestling with each other. She was no longer the jovial housewife and mother. She was a being of far greater power, and she would use it as she saw fit.
  • Abilities: Suburbia uses the powers of Yith, her own body tantalizingly distorts to reveal monstrous elements.
    • She can distort space and create monstrous body parts out of thing air, within a few yards.
    • She can create portals made out of mouths.
    • She can contort her body in wildly different ways.
    • She can make very temporary clones of herself and her body parts.
    • She certainly isn't invulnerable, but her body parts can reform and act independently of one another.
  • Additional Notes: In her home, she has a lot of mythological and philosophical literature. She has a giant mural of The Garden of Earthly Delights, and her library has books like the Dictionnaire Infernal and The Odyssey.

Just putting up the start of my hero profile. I'll add my reworked backstory in as soon as I finish it.

  • Name:Tiger Carter (Alter Ego is Durga)
  • Age: 22
  • Gender: Female
  • Appearance:Tiger is around 5'5" tall, with long black hair and bright blue eyes. She wears long sleeved clothing and long pants when out in public. Her skin is slightly tanned, with very dark brown tiger stripes running from her right shoulder to her right ankle. Her hair bangs cover the two stripes on her forehead.
  • Costume (If Applicable):Her hair changes color from black to mostly dark orange with strips of black and is in a braided ponytail reaching down to her back. Her eyes change to an amber color, and her nails turn into claws. She wears a golden breastplate, arm and shoulder guards, and a helmet. Underneath it is an orange tunic, black pants, and open toed sandals. The Golden Disc hangs on a chain belt around her waist.
  • Personality:

    • Tiger is considered shy and introverted, to the point of seeming secretive at times. She dislikes fighting of any kind, but has grown used to inevitably dealing with conflicts because of her alter ego. She genuinely likes helping people, but doesn't like being forced into it. Tiger is passionate about books and history though, and can carry on a long conversation on it.

    • Her personality as Durga is a Lawful Good, extremely over the top and passionate warrior. She never backs down from a fight, but is still cunning enough to form a plan beforehand. Durga is dimly aware of her other persona, but considers herself as a separate person.

  • Biography: Tiger was born in Los Cielos and lived with her archaeologist parents until she went to college outside the states at age 17. At first, she went to a well established British university, but during the course of World War II, she decided to transfer to an Indian college to escape the bombings and better study archaeology. She went on a field trip to a historical, ancient temple of the Hindu Goddess Durga for one of her classes. Deep within it, she found a golden disk on an altar.

When she went to pick it up and take it out, it knocked her out for a few hours. She woke up back with the rest of the school group, having been found in the temple on the floor. She was now marked down the right side of her body with dark lines, like a tiger's stripes. After doing some research on the Golden Disc, she discovered that the stripes were a physical sign of the curse of Durga. The power sealed within the disc infected the holder, and forced them to use it to battle evil and injustice. If the call is ignored, the curse would consume the holder and turn them into a tiger. Wanting to stay human, Tiger went back to the temple in the middle of the night and took the disk back to college. Even since then, there have been reports of an armored tiger-like hero appearing around the campus to stop various crimes, from robberies to stolen parking spots.

After the end of World War II, Tiger moved back to the island of Civility to live with her parents and help run the Los Cielos World History Museum, taking the time to research her curse further on her days off in hopes of removing it. Dr. Ace Carter, her father, is head curator, and they live above their museum in a large apartment.

  • Abilities:

    • Sharper senses akin to an actual tiger's

    • Extendable claws that can cut through iron

    • Increased strength and agility to top human condition

    • Cat-like jumping skills and excellent balance

    • Attracts other felines (in normal form too)

    • Striped camouflage that allows her to be invisible when in the shadows and standing still.

Tiger's power is technically a curse, and has downsides to its use. She must transform into Durga whenever evil is being committed and she sees it. If she refuses to comply with the curse within the time period of 30 minutes, she will permanently transform into an actual tiger.

  • Equipment:

    • Golden Disc: A cursed chakram that is rumored to possess some of the powers of an Indian god. It is used to transform into Durga, but only if it is physically touching Tiger. It can reflect light and can return from a throw like a boomerang unless it gets stuck somewhere.

    • Striped Armor: An old suit of Indian armor, with a breastplate, shoulder and arm guards, and a helmet with Tiger ears. Decorated with black stripes. It repairs itself when it is not being worn.

  • Additional Notes:Tiger is highly knowledgeable in mythology from ancient civilizations. She also helps run the museum that her parents own.

  • Name: Amadeus von Hertz aka The Conductor
  • Age: 54
  • Gender: Male
  • Appearance: A thin, wiry man at 5'10", the Conductor is not especially tall, but his narrow build makes him seem as such. This is amplified by his tuxedo, a classically black suit with rather sharp electric blue lines running vertically down them. His skin is ghostly pale and his hair is equally white, which he wears in large curls like a judge's wig. Along with his tux, he wears a set of gloves with a pair of small, symmetric lightning bolts on the backhand. His eyes are an airy blue.
  • Personality: Irritable. Arrogant. Misanthropic. These are just a few words that can only begin to describe a man whose ego is as large as his train (but more on that later). Amadeus was a man who believed that the only true culture is Renaissance and everything else is either savage or degenerate. He loathes modern society and all that spawns from it and seeks to tear it all down, though he's perfectly willing to work with other villains to achieve that end. Don't point out the hypocrisy though - at best, he'll ignore you and claim it's your simplistic mind that just fails to understand a brilliant thinker like him. At worst, he'll shoot lightning at you. Despite all this though, do not call him a Nazi. Even though he is German, pilots a German war machine, idolizes "superior" European culture, and wishes to kill everyone around him, he insists not to be compared to them.
  • Powers and/or Abilities:
    • Human Generator: After the accident, the Conductor became a living battery. Well, more than just storing and moving electricity, his body can generate it. Although he needs a medium to use this to its fullest extent, it does mean anybody trying to fight him directly might find themselves in for a nasty shock when throwing a punch.
    • Captive Audience: For whatever reason, the Conductor also has the power to transmit telepathic communication to others. While a more savvy villain might make better use of this, he uses this power to implant classical music directly into people's minds. Also his yelling. All of his yelling.
  • Equipment:
    • The Suit: His maestro's tuxedo helps keep the electricity in the Conductor's body under control so he can actually interact with stuff without negative consequences. While zapping everything in sight sounds fun, it's not useful for everyday things.
    • The Baton: An enchanted 15" wand that the Conductor can use to channel his electricity into for most of his attacks. Through it, he can form lightning constructs such as swords, whips, balls, and of course the ever classic (dodgeable) bolt.
    • The Train: Having stolen one of the Nazis' many experimental war machines, the Conductor has for himself a large two floor, four car flying train of death and classical music. It's stormy black and has a huge cowcatcher in the front, somewhat akin to this but much larger. The sides are decorated with a musical score and instruments highlighted in electric blue, and lined with modified speakers that blast lightning "cannonballs" and classical music at passerbys. The speakers are also along the bottom of the train, for air raids. I also mentioned it could fly, yes? As it storms through the air, it creates rails of lightning that the wheels travel along. It is a behemoth of a vehicle. When not in use, the Conductor uses it as a temporary home, and hides it beneath the waves surrounding Los Cielos. ...yes, it's submersible, why do you ask?
  • Biography: Once, the Conductor was not a villain but Amadeus, a law abiding, if stuffy and uptight, German music composer who did his best to make a living post-WWI, seeking work abroad. However, one day as he was practicing his baton movements on, lightning struck the train car he was taking back to Germany, hospitalizing him before he could perform in concert. He was comatose in the hospital for several weeks until a horrific sound woke him up - American pop on the gramophone. Blasting the record disk, and causing a rather terrible uproar in the rest of the hospital, Amadeus became the Conductor and declared that he would destroy the culture which produced such trash labelled "popular music." So he returned to Nazi Germany, stole one of their supervehicles, and after making the appropriate modifications for it to suit him, brought it with him to the US. Somehow. Though just to be clear, even though he is a German seeking to destroy a degenerate culture and all those who affiliate with it, he is most certainly not a Nazi. Certainly not, oh no.

Name: Addison Hughes, aka "Phosphorus."

Age: 26

Gender: Male

Appearance: Muscular, covered in scars from his stint in the War. Tall, angled features, and a long, thin scar caused by a bullet graze. Wears dark English suits, after his father.

Costume: A white trenchcoat with a black button up shirt and slacks beneath. Also wears an elegant steel mask that covers the upper portions and cheeks of his face, with his eyes and the area around the chin and mouth exposed.

Personality: Amiable enough, though a edge of frost creeps its way into his interactions, particularly around supers and Germans. Calm and collected, especially under fire. Ruthless and cruel in combat. Refuses to use guns, as his powers are more accurate and deadly anyway.

Background: Born to a disabled British soldier and American nurse almost immediately after the Great War, he led a relatively average childhood. Hell, his parents remained employed even through the Great Depression. Addison was studying physics, with electromagnetism being his focus, when World War II broke out. He volunteered, and was mostly unscathed throughout his service in the European Theater. However, in September of 1944, his unit was assigned to begin the invasion of Germany via a little hamlet called Aachen right along the German border. What the Allies didn't know was that a German with concussive abilities was stationed there, along with a sizable amount of troops. His unit was decimated. The activation of his powers allowed him to live and kill the German super and the troops, though he suffered several bullet wounds and broken bones in the process. The battle left him with a hatred for supers and Germans that burns hot beneath his amiable personality. He was honorably discharged due to his injuries and moved to Los Cielos after healing. After all, with the high concentration of supers and technology there, who will notice if a few of either go missing?

Abilities: Electromagnetic manipulation and generation. He can generate and control magnetic fields, plasma, photons, and electricity.

Equipment: His costume, a small bag of pennies and other assorted change tied to his waist, and a small apartment in Civility.

Additional Notes: None.

@ Collinicus: Alrighty, a few questions of note. 1 - what are the extent of his powers? How much can he do with what he has, how big can his magnetism be, and so forth? 2 - reading his profile, does his super hatred extend to heroes as well, or only villains? I want to know where I can set him on the (admittedly very rigid) hero-neutral-villain scale.

@Starbound2: His magnetic and plasma powers are most potent within an area of 10 feet of his person, but his photon and electrical powers are accurate to about 200 feet. He cannot fly, but can electromagnetically push on metals around to send him rocketing into the air. He can generate a disk of plasma to serve as a shield, as well has focus it into blades of sorts. The most Addison can do with his photon based powers is generate bright spheres and flashes of lights with them. He can fire bolts of electricity from his fingertips, the accuracy thereof is listed above.

His super hatred extends to heroes as well as villains. Blames them all equally for the deaths of his friends in Aachen. Blames himself too, cause his powers activated only after they had all died.
