I got Vault of Glass vibes from that too.
I'm so ready for this.
So what we have found out is that this is clearly the Origin Story for Zavala from Destiny? :)
Story looks actually quite fun - doomsday scenario, Man are the Monsters sort of thing, but heck, it's an original IP that looks absolutely stunning. I cannot wait!
I'm desperately hoping that this is good - it at least looks fantastic.
I wish there was some sort of character creator / customization to it, though, because having all these awesome-looking nomad-apocalyptic armors and no way to wear them makes me sad.
So, a few reviews in - so far consensus is that it's good!
A bit shallow in parts (All those tools and never QUITE the right areas to use them in) but the story holds up and it's very pretty.

IGN: 9.3 (So, yeah, not sure how that metic works)

Gamespot: 9/10

Consensus is that it's good! basically a solid addition to the genre, but with some of the tropes - Towers, collectibles etc. Combat is solid, exploration is good.
Looking forward to it!
Definitely looking forward to getting this game, even if it lacks that special charm of Zelda Breath of the Wild.
You don't have tiny elf boys here, but you have robot dinosaurs fighting ginger cavewomen. Now that's plenty charming.
Kind of disappointed is good, in an asshole way. I want less games to worry about, and so many good ones are coming out.

"Curry killed the pussy hoping that I could kill the hate in you" - Curry, D. "TABOO | TA13OO." TA13OO, PH, 2018Robot dinosaurs is indeed a huge draw.
Even so, while I have no doubt in my mind that the game is excellent, it just lacks that special something that the Zelda games have.
That something being an extra $300 price tag?
Speak for yourself, I'm waiting for the Pro's price to drop.
I was considering getting a Pro with this too, but since there doesn't seem to be a bundle and some friends kinda talked me out of it, I won't be. It'll still be just as good, I reckon.
Boys at Digital Foundry say Pro performance boost is slight with their preview builds
buuuuuut
Guerilla is going to release a Pro-patch on launch that values performance vs resolution.
It's unclear but that might mean 60fps patch.
On that note that's another thing that impresses the shit out of me with this game, apparently pefromance is good on both the 4 and the Pro. I thought the game looked too good to be true and would suffer hard for it, but Digital Foundry says they do a fantastic job locking up to that 30.

"Curry killed the pussy hoping that I could kill the hate in you" - Curry, D. "TABOO | TA13OO." TA13OO, PH, 2018Hence my desire to wait a few months till the price drops.
Worked wonders when I got a PS 3 on the Uber-cheap.
I'd wait to see word of mouth on it anyway, that stream someone did off an early copy made the game look a bit shoddy in places and kind of made by committee.
You mean that alpha playthrough?
Should I day one buy this game?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Seems like it.
Pretty sure I will be.
I booked three days of vacation time so I can play it nonstop for 5 days after it comes out.
I pre-ordered this a little while back.
It looks good, I love open world games, it is like the game Far Cry Primal wanted to be and I enjoyed that game in general, the story and background are interesting, and finally weird tribal humans.
I like that there are some organic animals running around still. I saw in one game play vid a player popping a hog and what looked like a bunny for items.
I have a feeling this game will be a huge time sink for me. Good thing I am about done with the Dying Light and it's DLC.
Who watches the watchmen?Makes sense there would still be flesh and blood animals. Humans can't eat metal.
The game's getting some good reviews from reputable sites.
Which is nice, I suppose. It's not coming to the PC, which isn't.
They can eat plants though, and I remember an early-ish gameplay video showed Aloy hunting a herd of machines for the canisters of green liquid they had, which I also guess is some kind of plant product (the machines must also get energy from somewhere).
In the video, the art lead talks about how the humans are wearing hides and feathers, so on second look I think there may be organic animals... some how.
I like how the secret vaults of robo-technology in the trailer look like Rasputin's area from Destiny!
Man I am weirdly stoked for this game. Love the bow and arrow combat - that you have to "anchor" one of the bigger enemies to fight it. Overall it looks like it's going to be fun.
