I have the skill to slow time. It barely lasts long enough to get into the general vicinity of the target. If it's standing still. I can't hit moving targets.

Great for you guys to not have any problems but I have neither the aim nor the reaction time for this kind of gameplay. Maybe if the game was available on PC.

Well, shit. That was a waste of money.

Did you try changing the sensitivity?

I believe changing the sensibility could help, yes. I believe things also get better when you start hunting down larger machines and gains access to Ao E weapons, like the slings and the Tearblaster.

But I do concede that having to turn the camera all the time can be a pain and an auto-target feature would be cool.

[up][up][up]

You use Concentration when you're already on target to pick out specific weak points. Why would you use a slow time ability that also slows you down when you're not already aiming at the enemy?

If you're really that hopeless with the bows, then use tripwires, traps, slings, and the rope caster. All but the latter do area damage in all elements, and the ropecaster can tether most enemies to one spot, and enough ropes will immobilize them and pin them to the ground for easy shots.

I think you don't get just how bad my aim with that little joystick is.evil grin And yeah, the ropecaster is a godsend.

I think I just need more training. I'm used to aim with a mouse and my hand and arm, not by twiddling my thumb. I haven't done this since Golden Eye on the N64. 20 years ago... man I'm old.

I haven't found the option to change sensitivity. not in the playstation settings and not in the game's settings. Where is it?

Yeah transitioning from mouse to controller is a bit of a challenge. You just need some practice and you will eventually get the hang of it. If I can play sniping games on console or PC you should be able to adapt with some practice.

Took me ages to get used to FPS / TPS on a controller. And now I find I'm crap at FPS with a mouse! I swear there's no winning....

Hmm, I've been looking into the settings (in the main menu and during gameplay), but I haven't found anything that could adjust camera or aim sensibility. Perhaps Guerrilla found that their controls were in accordance to the usual speed in PS 4 games and didn't feel the need to add that option.

Well, I guess I'd stick to the tips people gave above and practice a bit to adapt muscle memory to the controller. Also yeah, rope/tripcasters and slings are your friends.

On another note, I went back to some places to retrieve some datapoints. It's such a pain to navigate through those things when you don't have enemies to worry about (or Deathbringers to kill) [lol]

I should go back to this game and 100% it. I was working on it but then something else came along, I think.

Also yeah, I thought there was a sensitivity option. Never mind then.

Pretty cool game so far, but I'm pissing off my roommate with how terrible I am at it. Stuck on the Proving ambush with the idiot whining "We can't make it!" every five seconds.

That was one of the first things that bothered me about the game, the constant, repetitive, NPC chatter during missions. Just shut the fuck up, holy shit, shut up. Either it got better or I got used to it though, not sure which. Or there were just fewer missions with NP Cs around.

I remember people getting pissed over Aloy herself talking too much in the demonstrations. She still talks a lot, but at least it's not during battles anymore.

Yeah, she talked a hell of a lot in the preview videos, but she doesn't do it anything like as much in the actual game. Well, except for a few times when she starts talking about what she needs to do next in the quest, when I'm just taking a few minutes to explore a room and make sure I've picked everything up.

DLC coming, according to this article.

“We’re thrilled that Horizon Zero Dawn has been embraced by critics and players alike. Developing the game was a labor of love, so it’s extremely satisfying to see that it elicits the same passion and enthusiasm from the gaming public that we felt during its development,” said Guerrilla Managing Director Hermen Hulst.

“This is only the beginning of Aloy’s story and our exploration of the world of Horizon Zero Dawn, with the team already hard at work on an expansion to the story.”

Me too. I have actually been wanting to play again, just not from the start. I went back and did the last few things I needed to get the platinum trophy, but there wasn't much left, and now there's nothing. Unless I want to scour the world for audio and text logs, but ain't nobody got time fo dat.

Yeah did all the achievement collections - but hell no to the audio logs. I liked how it was a fairly complete story (Silens aside) but I want see a ROBO STEGOSAURUS. Just such a beautiful game.

If they can improve combat with humans, that'd be nice.... but we all came for the robot monsters.

Indeed we did. I kinda wish I could play again from the start, completely fresh. I did this very late on, but I'd now play it on hard, with HP bars and enemy awareness icons turned off, and I wish I'd done that from the start. That would make the battles much more interesting.

Sooo yeah, guys. New DLC confirmed, and it's Banuk-related. But there will be a mountain. And more story-related stuff. Looks like Aloy is searching for more info on what happened in the past and there's some there.

Anyway, "I didn't come here for the story. I came here for the machines."

I hope we get more worldbuilding on the setting. I'm far more interested in the post-apocalyptic robot fantasy world than the actual apocalypse itself.

My theory is that the mountain has something to do with Hephaestus, that it's some kind of main cauldron. I just remembered right now that as well as being the god of metalworking and so on, Hephaestus was the god of volcanoes. So yeah, I'm calling that right now :P

Do you mean... new machines?? Well, at the very least the boss is shaping up to be something different and I'll be very disappointed if it's just a Thunderjaw or another Deathbringer.

[up]Uhhhh .... Deathjaw? Thunderbringer?

Or maybe it's just a Watcher with 100000000 health.

I hope we see at least one new machine, yeah, an interesting boss would be pretty cool. I didn't like the way the trailer mentions "the beast that guards [the mountain]" but then just shows a Thunderjaw. I think the machine chasing the Banuk tribesmen halfway through looked like something new though, unless it was just a hard-to-see Rockbreaker.

I might play this on hard. I felt the machines, particularly the larger ones, weren't all that challenging (except maybe the Rockbreakers, but they were more Fake Difficulty than anything else, I felt). I also turned off enemy HP bars and awareness icons when I was last playing, I feel like that might make things more interesting.
