Suggestion: Woman In Black

No image yet. Should be easy to find one. I start off with this one.

It's not bad, but I'd like to see some other options before committing.

This was the image:

It was changed 4th Apr because, "Catwoman is better option"

That was taken down because, "Image link wasn't working" even though it can be seen.

Edit: Okay it can be seen when I put it in another tab.

That's because the site can't show image from other sites' URL. You need to upload them here first.

The original image I think works absolutely perfectly. No reason to change it.

I like that older image.

Cat Woman works well.

I prefer the previous as well. Catwoman is good, but her being a cat adds a few signals on its own that may be confusing.

What's the old pic from? The file name doesn't help any.

According to the IMDb, it's from a 2001 French film called Les Morsures de l'aube. Love Bites is its English title.

Keep in mind the trope is "often, black clothes are used to denote that a woman is scary", not "any woman wearing black". I think I like Catwoman best so far, but it's not great. The OP suggestion and the Love Bites image are both misleading IMO.

From my understanding it's not quite just 'scary' but the characterization is more dangerous, temptress fickle etc which is pretty Cat Woman's entire character.

Why is the Love Bites one misleading in that case? I've not seen it, but she is threatening whoever she's looking at by her body language.

The first two suggestions are good, though.

Lust was the first character I thought of when I saw this thread...that pic's not bad. rodney's first Bellatrix pic is really cool, too...the second's a little too busy and the third is shrinking to thumbnail size.

I'd nominate Yennefer, but I'm worried that if I go looking for pictures I'd be hit with spoilers.

Why is that a better image? She looks less evil.

Also, what is up with a link to an image showing full size to me then a thumbnail to everyone else then a thumbnail to me too? (As in 11.3.) Am I doing something wrong? Is there a way to avoid it?

It's a hot-linking pretention feature as I understand it. If you have the full picture in your cache it will still load that, but if you get to it from here, you get the downsized one.

That's why I prefer to link to the page rather than to the picture.

Hm, linking directly to an image has benefits over linking to the page it's on, but that's a major weakness.

18 sacrifices evil for clarity...decent for Image Links, but not as a page pic.
