k.
in other news, dealing with hawkwood reminds me that the superfast estus is one of the absolute worst changes in ds3
every fight goes on for fucking ever
Worse than the fact that NPCs actually use Estus in the first place?

its pretty annoying but maybe if they kept it to maybe 3 chugs
im pretty sure hawkwood, being an npc in my own world, and not a phantom, had close to the amount i had. it was proving impossible to kill him with the daggers. he never got the chance to heal when i used freide's twin scythe tho.
waaaaaaait....
"earthen peak ruins"?
i thought i was in londor
also these angels are the worst.
oh great
an asshole pyromancer who can use estus too
fuck you
okay so
i kinda wish 99% of the treasures im finding werent fucking titanite. i also wish enemies would not drop either titanite or dung pies. literally anything to give me a clue as to what the fuck im even fighting half the time. the only ones ive seen who do that are the ringed knights.
how do you deal with the turtle priests? once they hunker down i cant do shit to them and they heal to full health.

I'm excited to get into the DLC, but chances are I'll have to wait a while - I'm moving house soon and I want to finish Breath of the Wild before I do, so I don't have to lug the Wii U everywhere.
That said, I'm considering trying my Dark Souls Lite forum RP idea again, if anyone is interested. Here's the original interest post.
It's been fun.It does seem pretty Dark Souls already, but why not go the whole hog? The description sort of makes it seem like a mix of Dark Souls (the Flame, the group of extremely powerful entities that led the way) and Berserk (the "Brands", the exile and whatnot).
I think what struck me the most about the DLC is the strong presence of ninja turtle Way of White clerics, in combination with the abyssal locust preachers. Looks like the Way of White had been corrupted since forever, and Aldrich was probably just the first to openly embrace and join the feast.
Fear the cinnamon sugar swirl. By the Gods, fear it, Laurence.I figured they were Fillianore Church clergy.
Those big bug things I thinking are breeding too considering all the little spawn running around the area.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.jesus christ
the ringed city is actually fucking hell as far as difficulty goes
So it's The Old Hunters again?
Quite literally in some respects.
Fear the cinnamon sugar swirl. By the Gods, fear it, Laurence.there was a moment an npc started talking to me when i entered the vicinity, i thought they were talking from behind a window, bloodborne style
of course, it turned out they were just ontop of the building, but it gave me pretty big bloodborne vibes right there.
the fatties...ive not yet managed to kill em. im starting to reach a limit with my twin daggers; they're just not doing enough damage for how tanky and damaging these guys are. for the ringed knights...its a struggle.
also, i ran into dragonslayer armor again. that was an... unpleasant surprise.
@Librarian: I wanted more freedom to play with the world and themes, rather than being stuck too much to Lordran and its environs. I have only a shaky grasp of the lore of Manus and so on, so I want to be able to explore a similar world with freedom to change things up and not hobble myself on apocrypha.
It's been fun.If you want to learn all about the lore of Dark Souls (among many other things regarding it) and have a loooooooooot of time to kill, I can hook you up with a LP.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!I've played all the games (with the exception of Demon's Souls and the Abysswalker DLC for DS1), so if anything I should bone up on Vaati's videos or so on. Though, part of it is that I don't want to just rehash the first game either, so.
It's been fun.i just started noticing a new icon on the bonfire teleport menu, though i think its been there since the ashes of ariandel
its like statuette icon? some have 2, some have 3?
what is it?
Oh yeah, I saw a bunch of those on the list for Ariandel - not all of the fires had one, but all of the marked fires had one mark.
It's been fun.It tells you if there are other people in that area that are in their Host of Embers form and are around your Soul Level and Weapon Level so you can PVP or Co-Op with them.
It's not been there since Ashes of Ariendell, it got added last week.

Oh, awesome. Finally a way to tell where people are. I hope that makes summoning and PVP a bit easier.
It's been fun.Nameless King 1st phase is downright terrible. Fake Difficulty: the boss. Crap camera, the arena effects screwing with depth perception, and I have no idea how to avoid his fire breath due to said camera issues which can actually insta kill me. reminiscent of ancient dragon. The 2nd phase is a good deal easier and fun but I'm usually low on estus by the time I get to him due to how ridiculous the 1st phase is. Got him down to 1/4th twice already in fact.
I honestly can't see how anyone can say this is the best fight in the game when the 1st phase is among the worst in the series. They should've left the 1st phase out, because it really, really sucks.
Funnily enough I actually beat him 2 attempts after making this post lol. The 2nd phase is much easier than Lo C first phase IMO, but it helped that I had dragonslayer's shield and yellow stoneplate which made me almost completely negate block damage.and survive his attacks. He fights like Orstein on steroids really, and he's not as aggressive as some of the other bosses in that his combos give you time to breathe and follow a rhythm, plus he telegraphs his moves a lot.

You can actually kill the Lord of Storms in four hits if you know what you're doing and have the right weapon.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book! That applies to a number of bosses though, and is a bit of a moot point since not everyone is going to play that way. I assume you mean the bleed thing? Or lightning stuff? Actually I'm curious how lol, Do tell!
He takes hits like a chump really, but the jank during that phase is just painful.
Downloading ringed city now. DLC is usually the best parts of the souls games, so it'll be fun to see how much RC adds.

Who says it has to be Lordran? What you've come up with already makes a good series. It could be one of the myriad kingdoms that went through the cycle of "Rise from the Flame, Fall to the Curse."
Anyway I'd be up for it, I guess? I can use my DS 3 character.
You can enter it from either the Kiln of the First Flame or Sister Friede's room.
