Yeah, I think this is hitting up clean up mode, but this is really more of a short term clean up mode thing than a TRS thread so if no one objects, I shall move the thread there.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickI've checked a few of them, and another problem seems just as big if not bigger: people potholing it to uses of the trope on other trope pages, not in those works. For example, see the Farscape example on the Aborted Arc page: "The Nebari are built up to be huge threats - one of their cargo ships took out the Peacekeepers' strongest Command Carrier; their "Establishment" deals with contentious citizens by infecting them with a sexually transmitted virus that will throw worlds into chaos and them sending them into the galaxy at large; they're apparently capable of blowing up planets; and they wear lots of eyeliner." Whoever added that example potholed "they wear lots of eyeliner" to Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking, not because of how it appears in Farscape but because of how they wrote it.
This is against the rules of How To Write An Example, but I imagine lots of people do it because it's fun. The rule against it should probably be emphasized better, but I don't dare edit the rules myself. But the point is, if someone does something about the other problems with Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking, I recommend working on this too.
Worth noting that under the previous administration, a thread specifically addressing the potholing issue was shut down because Eddie wasn't convinced that it's a problem.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI vaguely remember that... was it "not big enough an issue to need a thread, just fix it as you see it," or was it "that's allowed"?
"Correct but annoying", I'd say.

This trope is, As You Know, for when a list of three or more items ends on a weak note for comedic effect. It seems to me like people are beginning to (or have been for a while now, more probably) pothole to this trope for any last item on a list, regardless of whether or not it's actually humorous in context. Like it's becoming a Verbal Tic, almost.
