The Chosen of Athma, Ionus, Dinana and Kelel are all accepted.

So, with Aurin's chosen already accepted, and Taco's WIP Jonius Chosen, we only have one spot left for the Chosen.

@Solus: Transformation at will. Think Laguz from Fire Emblem.

Neat, i feel like Shedjhan would be curious about Ragnar because why is this guy wearing armor resembling some old dynasty from ages past

Ragnar and Shedjhan would also probably be at odds because his presence actively destroys recorded history. Ferosin he needs to get all he can out of as well. Jane on the other hand will fill out a lot of gaps he's missing—his emphasis on culture and history balances out her well-rounded approach to more practical studies.

If it's okay, could I maybe hammer out some lore for orcs later? Grim asked for worldbuilding, may as well make some cool orcs and dodge all the things I don't like about certain orc tropes.

I hope my chosen form will suffice if you can guess already what it is.

Less destroys, more warps. If Ragnar defeated A then his deed would later be attributed to idk the three musketeers, for example. Regardless, it's not like either would know the specifics of the curse, or that aspect in particular.

Shedjhan and Jane then fund the Godly arts and craft club. Geeking over architecture, engineering, smithies and more.

If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything.

I'm making the GMPC. Damn it, Ferg.

  • Name: Milana "Mila" of the Glass Fields
  • Age: 27
  • Gender: Female
  • Race: Werebeast, Tigress
  • Appearance: She's striking, to say the least. Mila is actually rather short, but she's fit and muscular, full-on Amazon. Her skin is tanned and and scars are all over her face, back and arms. She has very curly dark brown hair, pointed ears, bright gold feline eyes and fangs. She wears leather armor at all times and a ragged gray cloak over it. Permanently scowling.
Her beast form is that of a dark furred tigress, with saber-teeth.
  • Abilities/Skill:
    • Fighting technique: Mila knows how to fight...and kill. Her own self-taught fighting style focuses on causing as much pain as possible to the foe, making them sloppy and easier to kill.
    • Weapon Mastery: Sword, spear, knife, crossbow? No problem.
    • Stealth and Assasination: She has been trained to kill publicly and privately. Includes knowledge of poison.
    • First Aid: A merc needs to keep herself alive, after all.
    • Werebeast Transformation: Her tigress form is tougher, faster, and stronger than a natural beast.
  • Magic: N/A
  • Equipment:
    • Claw: Her sword, a dwarf-forged monstrosity almost as big as she is. Impractical? Not if you're a werebeast and vastly stronger than a human. It's not really sharp. More for crushing than cutting, really.
    • Knives: Two, on her hips.
    • Lock picks: On her belt
    • Locket: Stole it from somewhere. Do. Not. Touch.
  • Personality: Rude, abrasive, confrantational, sarcastic, cynical....and utterly paranoid. People are almost as bad as the Shadowarmies, and why the hell should she care for anyone else, anyway? They sure as hell don't care about her. She's bleak, hopeless, and really doesn't understand this "hope" thing. Perpetually pissed, she nevertheless has the reputation as a stellar mercenary who always honors her contract, always fulfills her mission and never betrays and cheats her clients. Has a softer side, reserved to "cubs" (children).
  • Bio: Her life sucked. Mila was born in Gothal to the chieftainess of a tribe of tiger werebeasts. Her mother loved her dearly, especially because her father had died in a clan skirmish a few years before. And then her tribe was wiped out by the Shadowarmies and Mila only survived because her mother put her in a basket bearing her name and floated her off in a river. Note that she was a year old at the time. She was found by a wandering mercenary band who took her in...as their slave. She was abused, beaten, made to work. She first killed someone at age seven. She was the band's thief and assasin. This was how she grew up. Her band fought both the Shadowarmies and anyone they were pointed at. They weren't picky, as long as they were paid. Eventually, Mila escaped, killed the band's leader and went off to do whatever she wanted. She carved out a name for herself as a solo merc...and one day she ran into some idiots who thought they were gonna save the world. Intrigued, she decided to tag along...as long as she was getting paid.

  • Name: Erik Corvus
  • Age: 23
  • Gender: Male
  • Race: Human
  • Appearance: Something along these lines.
  • Abilities/Skills:
    • Knowledge of Magical creatures: Though by no means an expert, Erik is fairly knowledgeable when it comes to creatures whose origins aren't completely natural. This mostly boils down to being able to recognize and name most of the creatures he comes across, assuming they aren't too unheard of.
    • Cooking: Erik's capable of making a handful of edible meals, but his culinary skills aren't worth writing home about.
    • General magical knowledge
  • Magic: Erik has found that summoning magic tends to work in his favour most of the time. Having other people to fight in your stead is usually a good tactic if you want to stay alive. In most cases though, the length of the spell's casting time tends to increase as he summons more and more powerful creatures. All of the below summoned creatures are completely loyal to Erik, and tend to stick around for about an hour before returning to whatever realm they were summoned from. Also worth noting is that Erik can only summon one creature at a time.
    • Summon Lesser Drake (Conjuration): By far the weakest creature at Erik's disposal, the only real upside to this dog-sized dragonoid creature is that he can summon it nearly instantly (30 seconds). Despite being armed with sharp claws and equally pointy teeth, this beastie tends to serve as little more than a glorified distraction in combat.
    • Summon Alligator (Conjuration): Requiring a bit more time and concentration (an overall casting time of around a minute) to summon than the Drake, this tough and bitey reptile is a much more reliable companion in battle (though not without its weaknesses).
    • Summon Wolverine (Conjuration): Incredibly aggressive and strong for it's fairly small size, the summoning requirements for this creature are basically the same as that for that of the Alligator.
    • Summon Dire Boar (Conjuration): Boars are unpleasant creatures to begin with. Adding numerous bone ridges and even more tusks just makes the damn thing even more vicious. Dire Boars are remarkably durable as well frighteningly fast for their size and are more than capable of dishing out as much damage as they take. Summoning the Dire Boar requires both a summoning circle and complete concentration from the caster, even the slightest distraction will force Erik to stop the spell and begin anew (casting time, five minutes).
    • Summon Owlbear (Conjuration): Though by far the most powerful creature at Erik's command, the Owlbear also the slowest to summon. Not only requiring a much more complex summoning circle and unbroken concentration, the casting time is around twenty minutes, thus meaning the beast cannot be summoned during battle. The process of summoning such a powerful creature will always, without fail, leave Erik completely exhausted and defenseless for an extended period of time.
    • Prestidigitation (universal): Simple magic tricks taught to novice spellcasters, allowing for minor but harmless magical effects such as; temporarily changing an objects colour, magically moving a small object about, light a small fire, warm or cool a small amount of food and so on. (I'd list more, but this is basically just gonna be simple stuff with little practical use. Lemme know if there are any issues.)
  • Equipment:
    • A book containing all the rituals required for summoning any of the above creatures.
    • Various writing implements, mostly used for making summoning circles
    • A few days worth of trail rations
    • A waterskin
    • A rucksack, mostly containing books of various genres.
    • A dagger, carried for self-defense, believe it or not (it has yet to actually be drawn).
    • A wooden bowl and cutlery
    • A brass ring. Nothing all that special about it, other than sentimental value.
  • Personality: To say that Erik is not a man of action is a bit of an understatement. Though not a complete coward, Erik doesn't care much for actively fighting and would much rather spend his time going through his books and learning more spells as it's much safer than front-line combat. His mildly cowardly nature makes Erik fairly easy to intimidate, though he'll usually stand his ground if he feels like he's standing up against someone truly evil or unjust. Nevertheless, Erik has a good heart deep down and actively tries to do what he can to help people out, if his magical abilities allow for it.
  • Bio: Starting out life working on farms for much, much richer people somewhere near The Kingdom of Laglade, Erik had a fairly normal, albeit peasant-y childhood. Cliche as it is to say, things took a bit of a change after he started to show signs of magical aptitude and Erik was swiftly taken as an apprentice by the local wizard. Spending the next few years of his life getting the basics of magic down, Erik gradually found that he had a knack for summoning and his teachings quickly turned to the arts of conjuration. With his teachings finished and the art of summoning not quite mastered, but understood well enough, Erik wandered out into the world to see how he could make use of his arts. With talk of the Guardian's armies making their way across the realm, Erik couldn't help but wonder if there was anything he could do to slow their advance...

Sweeeeeeeeeet.

mwahahahahahah

Also do Werebeast have more natural strength than humans? If so I should probably put that in his abilities.

I'm noticing he seems to be a bit lacking in the ability department, yet at the same time he was designed as a character who really didn't need much...

Chosen of Mercurius bio in progress

  • Name: Mana Nakbo
  • Age: 25
  • Gender: Female
  • Race: Human
  • Appearance: Mana (Minus the blades) stands at 5'7" and 135 lbs.
  • Abilities/Skills:
    • Knows first aid and survival skills
    • Good stamina after years of traveling
    • Skilled at personal navigation (parkour, basically)
    • Knowledgable in self-defense
    • Quick runner even before she became a Chosen
    • Agile and acrobatic
  • Magic: Mana's spells are focused around the element of air and travel in general.
    • Burst of Breath (Divine): Reinvigorates Mana or the spell's intended target to keep them going past normal fatigue.
    • Trace (Divine): Shows Mana the general direction towards her destination, wherever that may be.
    • Updraft (Nature): Blasts herself or her target(s) upwards in a burst of air.
  • Equipment:
    • A pair of knives sheathed at her lower back, which can also be thrown
    • Regalia (Chosen Only): Bilis - a pair of metal greaves that covers her legs, with blades shaped like wings running down the armor. Wearing them gives Mana the toughness she needs to strike while in a state of super-speed, allowing her to impart great force without suffering collateral damage. It simply makes her more durable all the time it's worn.
  • Chosen Powers:
    • Enhanced speed and reflexes: Mana can become a blur when she wishes, navigating faster than any mere mortal can see.
    • Divine Empathy: Like the god that chose her, Mana has an intense bond with other beings. She can sense their emotions and feel what they feel to gain a greater understanding of others.
    • Path-Sight: Mana has something of a limited precognition. In combat it manifests as an instinct that warns her of any incoming possible danger to herself, and elsewhere it comes as a gut feeling when it comes to an important decision.
  • Personality: Mana was born into a world where the Guardian has been trying to conquer it instead of defending it. So she's a woman who likes to stay on the move, never staying in one place. This wanderlust is motivated by both a desire to see the world and to stay away from the Guardian's reach. When it comes to doing good, she's something of a Small Steps Hero, working towards the most immediate good for herself and others. She's a sociable girl who hates seeing others in distress, and she makes a point to slow down to help others with their personal problems.
  • Bio: Mana was born in the Sakuya Empire, where her parents lived as far away from the war with the Shadow Armies as they could. Against her parents' wishes, Mana worked as a courier, learning her skills as she traveled across the Eastern Domain. The day she came to regret her vocation was when she found herself returning home, only to meet her family fleeing their village. With their home lost, Mana helped her family escape to Laglade. One day she cast Trace, and it led her somewhere she didn't think she wanted to go. As she traveled down the path it showed her, she could hear a voice. It said to her: "Mana, you can't keep your family safe by running forever. I know you want to save the world, and I can make it so that you can go everywhere doing it. I am Mercurius, The Swift God, and I have chosen you." At the end of her journey, Mana found Bilis at a lone shrine at the top of a mountain. When she put them on, she felt a need rise in her: she had to find the other Chosen, and fast. With the world racing by her, she now casts Trace to take her to the nearest Chosen, eager to begin her mission.
