@Bolded: Which character are you referring to, exactly?
So, Engie, for the record.
I don't particularly care for Femji. This doesn't really have anything to do with yesterday's battle or anything, don't blame her for wanting to protect her boyfriend, but the thing is, I find it difficult to see her as a meaningful character.
She hadn't made any appearances in ages, at least none that I can remember, until The Black King did, which makes her seem more like a supplement to him than an actual character. She hasn't had any major backstory development, nothing.
In short, here's a list of how my feelings have changed about her, in order.
1. She's a random catgirl.
2. She's the Black King's girlfriend. Still a random catgirl.
Keep in mind, though, this is coming from a guy who's had at least two long hiatuses from the arena, so if there's a critical piece of info I've missed...

About the map change, I'd give my vote to something high tech/futuristic too. Though I agree with Bolded that an outright city would still be a little repetitive at this point in time.
I know V4 had a factory/facility map at one point (it was even the current map when I first arrived to that thread), so maybe something in that direction?
In the year 202X, all is devastation... Soon, any last shred of hope had by the saintliest optimist shall die and decay.I would the map to be pretty futuristic as well, maybe a space station or a research lab.

How about the Citadel, from Mass Effect?
Inb 4 someone tries to bring in [SPOILERS] to activate its spoilers...
In that case though, I might say that maybe the gun shops should be mysteriously cleaned out, so as to not make certain kinds of characters totally redundant and outclassed.

"We can handle what is true, for we are already living it." Lol lets do the spaceship from the spaceship game
Okay, someone HAS to enter the arena as SANNESSS! AND GIVE EVERYONE A BAD TOM!
The fact that only 140 characters are allowed here is honestly so disappointing to me.Maybe we could do the pillar of Autumn, it's a ship, it'll have an armory and living quarters, food, etc.

I'm with Senpai, i quite like his map.
The workings of the mind can overcome any battle.Well if we're not using the Citadel, Pillar of Autumn can have my vote too.
"We can handle what is true, for we are already living it."The Pillar of Autumn would be great, having played the Halo franchise myself.
"Never let anyone tell you that something is impossible." - Monty Oum, 1981-2015I don't know what the layout of anything of these is like but I like the idea of a mechanical-based environment.
The fact that only 140 characters are allowed here is honestly so disappointing to me.I dunno, the Pillar of Autumn seems too small and cramped for my tastes. There's no outside, it's a bunch of halls with the occasional slightly wide room... Basically, I'm not sure a map that's entirely indoors, especially a starship, is a good idea.
Exercise rooms, viewing decks...?
"We can handle what is true, for we are already living it."You really get off on being a Commander Contrarian to me, don'tcha, Mickey? And even then, that doesn't change the fact that the Pillar of Autumn is a starship, meaning the setting is mostly indoors (thus meaning that there wouldn't be much to explore and there'd be no room for giant battle to occur), has limited room to move about in, and is kinda cramped.

Ichigo, the ship could always just be landed on Installation 04 instead of being in space.
"Never let anyone tell you that something is impossible." - Monty Oum, 1981-2015I'm up for that. Pillar of Autumn + a small section of Installation 04.
"We can handle what is true, for we are already living it."And Installation 04, being a space station, is yet another setting that's completely indoors, meaning that there wouldn't be much wide open space or anything.
Now, I have a better idea for a map. Specifically, Crestwood from Dragon Age: Inquisition. It's got a village and a keep/fort for housing needs, wide-open space, water, a cave leading to an underground Dwarven ruin, and so forth. Here's the map for it. If anyone has a version of the map with all of the essential landmarks (like the village and the keep) marked, please link to it.
Hell no. That'd be practically the exact same as the map we have right now. Also, Installation 04 is a Halo Ring. Being outside the Pillar would be essentially being "outside".
"We can handle what is true, for we are already living it."...Dude, have you not played the original Halo: Combat Evolved? Installation 04 may be one of the Halos, but it's got its own semi-natural environment, complete with a sky and breathable atmosphere.
"Never let anyone tell you that something is impossible." - Monty Oum, 1981-2015And, of course, everyone just gangs up on me, essentially calls me and my ideas wrong in the least tactful way possible (seriously, it's like you guys have never even heard of constructive criticism), and generally hammer it home that ya'll either don't like me all that much or wish I would just buzz off and never come back again (then again, you've always enjoyed doing that to me, haven't you, Mickey?)...
Makes me wonder why I even bother posting in this fucking discussion thread if I'm just gonna end up getting steamrolled.
...We were just stating facts since we've played the games in question, man.
"Never let anyone tell you that something is impossible." - Monty Oum, 1981-2015How big of a map are we looking for?
"Now, I have a better idea for a map." From my perspective, you started it here by implying all of our ideas were objectively inferior to your own, so I responded in kind.
I have no idea why you would think I want you to leave, or have personal issues with you, because I don't. Like I said before, most of the time I did peanut gallery commentary, it was because I was there but didn't know what else to do, or saw something I "couldn't resist".
Admittedly It Amused Me, and so did your reactions, but I didn't mean it as a serious personal vendetta. And I've stopped doing it now, especially to you, if you've noticed?
EDIT: Just read over the posts, including some I think I missed. You had some decent points I must have missed, and I believe Stormer was simply offering a solution to them? Also, I'm a Commander Contrarian to everyone. Bad habit.

"We can handle what is true, for we are already living it."
That moment when you instantly like a character, lol.
Fallout 2? More like Fallout 2 bad.
